  1. Btw, the May issue of Game Informer is out with a big article on GTA4.
  2. Have you tried running single player and checking if it also gives that error?
  3. You will be able to walk and shoot in the next release. For a preview check out our YouTube videos: https://www.youtube.com/profile?user=MTAQA
  4. Have you looked at the link above? The reason MTA:Race doesn't work with Vista is it's anti-cheat system.
  5. That should work, you should have made a backup of your old 2.0 gta-sa.exe, then you could have just replaced your patched .exe with it to play single player. You could also download any 1.0 savegame if you want: http://vladimir.skach.cz/sanandreas/
  6. Just cause it's April 1st doesn't necessarily mean it's a joke...
  7. After a lot of discussion with the guys over at Valve Software, it has been decided that the best way to release our next MTASA version would be through the Steam content delivery software. The "Multi Theft Auto: Deathmatch" game entry was recently added to Steam as a stub (still only available to us developers), allowing us to experiment with this new way of patching. Release plans are still being discussed right now, but MTA:SA "Deathmatch" is expected to be available for a small fee of $5.95. Steam customers will be able to order Multi Theft Auto, with just a few clicks, through the Steam ordering system. (They're expected to own a copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.) Steam allows us to do more frequent on-demand updates, without requiring our users to go to our website and download new versions of the software. The dedicated servers can also be upgraded very easily through Steam, as some people may already know. We honestly think this is a good step forward for our development. Obviously with this still in the development stage, the details of how this will work aren't fully outlined yet, but we will keep the community informed as and when we know. This was an April fools joke for anybody who still thinks it was going to happen.
  8. wtf? anyway...technically wasnt liberty city sorta like chicago or something? No, Liberty City is New York, and it looks like they're recreating it much more accurately than they did in GTA3.
  9. Lol, nice one. I liked the intro.
  10. Or it could be the forced frame limiter in MTA thats making it seems slower.
  11. Here's another image of the main character, he actually looks cool in this one: http://www.gameinformer.com/News/Story/ ... .19632.htm
  12. What are you talking about? The water looks fine. The graphics look amazing. edit: the thing you highlighted is a metal plate, not water.
  13. I remember they did the same thing with the first SA trailer, they showed a bunch of still shots and no action. The next few trailers should be much more exciting.
  14. SA probably has more players.
  15. It's crazy to compare Rockstar's progress to the MTA team's for the reasons NazcaC2 mentioned, plus the fact that not having the source code to the game also complicates things quite a bit, as does having only a couple of active developers versus dozens, etc..
  16. The gameplay bugs don't prevent new features from being added, and trust me, they are not making this to enjoy it for themselves. In fact, I never see any of the devs play the mod with the testers (except for the rare case where they need help tracking down a bug). Also, I don't think adding a new feature now and then diverts too much time away from fixing bugs. It is the bugs that are holding back the release, not the feature additions. You must not have any idea of how many issues arise when creating a mod such as this. There are many more variables that make the mod playable other than simply getting out of your car and fighting on foot. They are not aiming for a perfect mod, they are only aiming for one that the community will enjoy.
  17. Mainly it is bugs that are preventing the mod from releasing. These are issues you don't see or hear about, but they exist and the community would not be pleased if they weren't fixed.

    Banned?!??

Lance is definitely not an admin on the official server.
  19. At a store that sells computer games.
  20. No, the vidoes capture gameplay pretty accurately. Any large bugs that may occur are not shown, but they are pretty rare and shouldn't be in the release anyway.
  21. That doesn't mean it's ready for release to the public. There are still some issues to be resolved and features to be completed before it can be released.
  22. The current version is only racing, the walking version is still being developed (check the main page for news).
  23. Thank you, and yes March 17 is really my birthday.
  24. yeah but in games bullets kinda "teleport" into the targets body i.e. they dont travel to get there If that were the case that wouldn't make a difference anyway, as there is still the same delay (you send data to the server, the server sends data to the clients).
