  1. I know your not meant to put birthdays on the forums, but seeing as it is MTA i think it deserves it. Happy birthday! oh and i know there is a blog on it but you need a forum thing too. and anyway i think they deserve a beer!   4. What would you like to see in the perfect multiplayer GTA game? Mine would be a mmo like gta, where you can still do the misions and people can create their own missions which must be started at their house, (which would be somewhere in the mta world) of course the more influential, the more expensive house you can buy, so closer to where everyone is. And if you are really bad at the game you would end up in a shanty town in reclaimed land in the sea. So if you are very good you can continue to play levels after completing the normal ones. Then if you are really bad (or someones made a hard level) you can group together and share the reward. (levels would have to be moderated for ease of play.) of course this is impossible with current technology, and you might as well create a completely new game to do this, but these are just made up.

However one of the unique (as far as i know) and brilliant things about this mod is that maps are so small that you can fit hundreds on one machine easilly, this is because each object is just replaced by a number and where it is so adding more would mean having to revamp a lot of the system. maybe an SDK idea though.

Lag would be reduced by loads, and that would mean better collisions too. plus, more things could be synced like rockets, (possibly even) peds (would need lots and lots of of work to sync each thing though, so this is just 'in theory') maybe syncing is something for the SDK but a simple low lag mode would be brilliant none the less.

  11. It would be nice if you could make a lan mode (like ut04) that requires more bandwidth and lower pings but is far better as far as lag is concerned. I think it would be easy wouldn't it? Just a thought.

  13. I know this is a dumb question, but you never know..... Were youre wings damaged, as they make the plane go slightly crazy and unpredictable. If you don't know watch the wings, if there are bits on them jiggiling about randomly, its just what i mentioned, not a bug attall. and yes it is very annoting when your wings are damaged. so dont hit them on things or let them get shot. If this is not the case *finn steps back to allow the technical people a look*

  15. yes, this is good but if you had options inside the map file that offered 4 possibilities (or a combination), that mentioned above (selecting spawnable checpoints), respawn at certain distance (ie you could select an option that you respawn not on the last respawnable checkpoint but the one before it, to make the map fairer, its unfair to be able to respawn exactly where you died if you have just gone through a checkpoint),all checkpoints spawn and of course no spawns at all. So if someone wanted you to respawn exactly 2 checkpoints back the would enable the all checkpoints spawn option (or create all checkpoints as 'spawning' checkpoints) and then set the distance option as one checkpoint back. sorry if it's hard to understand
  16. I have FX5200, I don't know what driver I had before but it was about 3 years old, my current is 89.98.
  17. I think youve misunderstood me, if implemented as like so, players with powerful PCs would hate those with poor PCs for lowering the server FPS to 25 (or whatever the minimum is) and if they had admin rights they could even decide to ban them, which wouldn't be fair.

OK, so on some games, having an out of date driver can mean not being able to see shadows, or maybe game crashes, but an out of date drive for my card meant that garbage apeared on all car wheels, and on the map, BAD garbage, like I would be driving and I wolud suddenly fall through the ground where the real map had a hole but the garbage covered it or where the next checpoint was inside a (non existant) polygon with lots of funny triangles, so the game was unusable, so if this happens upgrade your driver. I know this should be obvious, but my driver worked for San andreas, so i didn't expect it to be so affected, and i had only just reinstalled my PC.
  19. You would obviously have to make the fps f the players invisible to the everyone (including admin) so that people don't get chucked for have a poor comp as thats unfair.

I agree that it should be put in, but it could mean that servers without the option available (i.e. serious racing servers) would not get any players, while the ones with barly any respawn delay/penalty would be filled, just because its easier. Plus maps that don't play well with respawn would not be played much. Well, i suppose the hardcores would go to the no respawn servers

But you forget... 10 police per person (estimate) for L6 means 640 police officers overall, plus a percentage of them could be real, that should solve youre problem, so a bit harder than normal, and anyway you could have a vote to enable the no police cheat when you got bored. Plus, you could have gang wars with the in game gangs, with yet again they could have bumped up numbers. Another impossible idea would be if you could do the levels like normal, except everyone (or some people) are real. including the enimies, thus removing the dumb AI problem.
  22. I personally would love to have peds in action on multiplayer, but its just too hard . I've always dreamed of 32 players in tanks against 6 stars of policemen charging at them. or maby a gametype where everyone is in a group, trying to survive, as wave upon wave of police attack. All theoretical though. If it was possible to sync hundreds of peds, it would have been done in a game by now. But then again some mmporgs can sort of do it, so maybe, in the future.
  23. It has been said many times that you can use at least one of the no-cd cracks, and mabey others. Yes, it is sad that there is no footsync, but look at it this way, there is a certain amount of time to develop this ie 9-10 months for sdk + mapping + vehcles and then an extra ? for foot sync (prob at least 6) so it is either they spend an extra 6 for footsync or release it now. They will do footsync one day (probably)
  24. 6th of Jan 2006 I tried to save my (very important) coursework and accidentally dragged my ipod into my flash stick , it crashed both my pc and my brand new ipod, and when i restarted it crashed again, and again. then i removed my ipod but i couldn't reboot so i had to leave it for 10 hour to run out of power, then i had to reinstall my pc (turned out it had got corrupted in the crash) and then i broke my Win xp cd (lukly after install). The morale is, don't try to drag your ipod on to your mem stick. I don't know if the error was one off or not, im scared to try again (understandably). EDIT NO2 was a while ago, i wanted to reformatt my disk and so i copied my stuff to my laptop, after the reformatt i found out my pc had stopped copying because a system file was in us and didn't think to continue after, so i lost all the work on my pc except some admin stuff from before it stopped (stupid winxp
