OK, this is going to be in very simple language and it will assume you are an idiot (im not saying you are, and dont take offence if it is too dumbed down) c++ is a language, it is made so that humans (with a bit of learning) can understand it, but that with a special translator computers can understand it too. You just write lots of words in a special way, then after writing them, you press a special button and the words get turned into stuff that computers understand. You have to have a program that turns the c++ into computer language. this is called a compiler, and you will have to find one to download. so why do you want to use it anyway? so that you can tell a computer to do stuff that no-one has ever wanted a computer to do before. c++ is very complex for a beginner, but once you understand how it works, the rest is just practise. if you want to make programs then you may want an SDK (software development kit) this is just lots of stuff put together, like a compiler + something that fixes mistakes you made + other cool stuff. and SDK is usefull because it will tell you if you mis-typed something, instead of you searching for hours. but it cant fix all bugs, so you still need to debug, just about anything you write (even just 3-4 lines of code will have a mistake somewhere). before you learn, you need some in-depth computer knowledge. so go look stuff up when you hear about it.

Out of interest, if your not ever going to get back to mta for gta3 (even if you did, you wouldn't use the current code anyway because you would use blue) why dont you release the source, im sure there are people out there who would be able to fix bugs in it etc. ? plus it would take some of the pressure off you. or are you worried that people who would otherwise join the team would edit that instead?

MYST!!!!!!!!!! Practically the first computer game that had animation and real 3D graphics (well, they were produced in 3D, the game consisted of a series of images) The music was the best ever in a game at the time. It was also really hard to beat. (i never actually did it) Then of course prince of persia ( i have the second edition, first to have colour, for the mac, its actually worth a fair bit for such an old game..... maybe and antique someday?) But then i found command and conquer and warcraft 2 (man they were fun) now mostly fps and gta. but i still have a go at an old arcade game now and again. Comet busters! I like my 2D combat.....

1280x1024x32? if i run at 640x480x16 at low detail, it still loses frames at the start and finish in race. where there are lots of cars. I have an fx5200. i guess i need a new card. at least DM wont be so frame-dependant.

what is the player limit in an area? it bigger than 32, i know, but they were thinking of allowing bigger player counts than that at one point, so is it more like 48? or 64 even? because if it is really high, then it isnt too much of a problem. or is it just computer dependant? if so then we can leave out people with cruddy coputers cant we?

ermm.... i assume he meant between players, i was actually thinking of doing just that when the sdk was released, because the collsions are so laggy (wrong word, but meh), its unfair on some players when they drive up behind someone and then sudenly go flying really fast backwards while the other person is completely unaffected.

Ive likied all of them, but there was definatly something in gta-vc. Possibly it was just the first gta i ever bought, but it just felt right. Maybe i just liked owning that mansion . I never liked gta-3 (probably because i had already played vc when i got it) it wa a bit too dingy. in fact, im going to go play vc now.
