a little bit of weird problem

Megatronic

Question

I've been playing MTA since very long time, and that's the first time I face such a weird problem actually..

When I launch MTA, the task-bar of the windows doesn't disappear and the icon of the game is still shown in the taskbar including everything in the taskbar like sound, bluetooth, time & date, etc..

and the game above the task-bar is limited by certain pixels although the whole wallpaper of the game is shown all over the screen but the mouse doesn't go further to the right side at a certain point, neither downside at a certain point

I will explain further:

As you can see in the photo below, look at end of the screen you will see the whole task-bar is still there even when the game has opened and didn't disappear as it should.

As you can see in the photo below too, look at the arrow inside the game(the pointer) at that point the pointer is on now.. this is the last right side the arrow can reach and it doesn't go more right further than this:

same idea here, the pointer doesn't go downside further than this in the photo:

Note that:

1. I to re-install back the latest versions of MTA.

2. Grand Theft Auto works fine.

3. MTA was fine with me on my laptop before, dunno what has happened.

4. This is windows 8 (64 BIT)

I must say it's not the ordinary case of taskbar persistently overlapping, it's yes.. weird because it's also magnified to a certain part only and enlarged.

First..

Please download, extract and run MTADiag and follow the instructions.

Press 'n' when asked.

Post any Pastebin URL MTADiag gives you in this topic

Are you using borderless mode, or fullscreen? Did you change any graphics settings like that recently?

Right-click the MTA launcher and make sure under compatibility tab, nothing is selected such as ''use 640 x 480'' mode. (check/remove this on both the launcher in MTA programfiles and eventually desktop shortcut)

It can be for some random reason your Windows flagged MTA as a program with compatibility issues, and applied compatibility mode to it like 640 x 480, which bugs it out as it does. The taskbar resolution lets me suspect so.

Install this Windows update, having the same installed but in corrupted state is known to cause this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49082

Also update with these drivers:

1) https://downloadmirror.intel.com/20775/eng/SetupChipset.exe (chipset)

2) https://downloadmirror.intel.com/25978/eng/win64_153631.4414.exe (graphics, if it won't install due to Windows 8 instead of 8.1, use https://downloadmirror.intel.com/25143/eng/win64_153623.exe

Eventhough MTA doesnt need it, since it's involved in the problem as I see - first uninstall and then update C++ 2012 redist: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679

(not needed to understand, but for the record..) I did some research, your Windows kernel is crashing MTA through a service exception with either as result/symptom (or contributing factor) C++ redist fault.

Again this can be due to MTA being unable to cope with the compatibility settings that were forced onto the launcher (like 640 x 480) so please check if those are enabled as I asked before.

Are you running Win8 on that MacBook through an VM or just clean OS install/bootcamp?

So now all what I have to do is just open these 4 links you gave me and download everything inside these 4 links?

and if yes, where should I save them.. program files? or the main folder of MTA?

if you please give me some instructions, it would be great & I would be so thankful.

Did you never run a setup/installed drivers or a program before?

Simply download the files and run them (no matter where they are located - simply your Downloads folder) & proceed installing each of them. They are not related to MTA so they don't need a specific location to be placed into.

Okay so, about the "SetupChipset.exe" my system told me that it's already installed on my system.

also downloaded the win64_153631.4414.exe from the link of number 2.

I need some help at the last link you wrote, when I press download it asks me to choose the download I want between 3 stuff:

VSU_4\vcredist_x64.exe     /     VSU_4\vcredist_x86.exe    /    VSU4\vcredist_arm.exe

Which one should I select?

Still the game doesn't work man...

the same issue occurs..

Run MTADiag once again (now you installed those drivers) and post the new link here please.

Also please answer me this time: did you really try check compatibility settings to see if the settings I mentioned are present (which they shouldnt)?

I asked you several times. Please just show me a screenshot of that tab instead..

by the way, the normal GTA has the same issue too  also magnified at a certain part only, but the task bar disappears as normal not like MTA

Any help please @Dutchman101   when the normal GTA does the same issue I told you, when I close the game it says that GTA has automatically changed compatibility settings to work normally, then I press ok and works fine after that.

so I think the whole problem is just about the compatibility settings..

please @Dutchman101    I need help and I need to get into the game because I have been inactive now for like 2 weeks and I will get kicked like that from SAPD/CIT2

thank you :3

Check if gta_sa.exe does have compatibility settings applied, if so disable all.

Move gta install and MTA's to another directory if that doesnt work, so we're sure all registry entries applying compatibility settings if present, are no longer valid for the new directory.

And after that, if..

when I close the game it says that GTA has automatically changed compatibility settings to work normally, then I press ok and works fine after that.

This is prompted again, make sure to NOT accept it and never ''OK'' it to apply compatibility settings. If it asks like ''Are you sure this program ran fine'' just click the dialog away and don't proceed with any prompt to let it apply anything.
