Why 0.4.1 was better than 0.5 SSV

Recommended Posts

Pros:

-Racing

-Dodo duels on Mafia hill

-So many dodo take offs, and perfect for helping nub flyers

-Ammunation 1v1's

-Big black building to watch people fight down below and to fight up there

-Cave hunting (hehe)

-The more cars

-Bat fights over at the Mafia Mansion

-Finding secret places

-Joey's Garage was fun trying to get in, yet hard.

-From Jon: Lack of spawn wars

-All around fighting

-The stunts you could do all over the town

-The map, overall feel

-Fido

-Realistic jump

Cons:

-Little bit more crashing

-Sky colors

Not much for Cons from me.

-Few glitches here and there

Yes, i have seen almost everone playing on SSV. I could stay in a portland server for ages, and no one will come.

wish people will still play on those maps.

SSV features on Portland and Stuanton Island will make them alive agian proboly.

EDIT: I think Fido is both a good and a bad thing. In 4.1, you could only play as him. But in 0.5, you get other characters to play as, but not Fido.

I think stunts are better in 0.5 though because you get insane stunt bonuses for them.

Staunton will have a few changes for 0.5.x

Good. Staunton's actually my favourite map but unfortunately no-one else is playing it in 0.5.

i actually prefer the 0.5ssv to 0.4.1, i cant agree with this. but however i was dissapointed with the lack of 'spread' between the maps. i knew this was what was gonna happen, pl + staunton were gonna become isolated, and was hopng on a server option to switch between maps creating a winner and more.

The main problem with 0.5 SSV in my opinion is that most of the action seems to occur around the Yakuza spawn point. With the random spawn points in 0.4.1 Portland, this was not an issue.

When I first played it, not long after 0.5 came out, I had a lot more fun because people were trying out the new game modes and fighting in all areas of the map. Now though, all anyone seems to do is cluster around the Yakuza spawn.

I have a few plans to change portland. It should be another SSV IMO.

Spawns and skins system for Portland

Cops - Spawn at police station - Ammunation is at the door of the police station - Cop car

Garbage Men - Spawn at the junkyard near 8ball's bombshop - Ammunation is at the crushing machine - trash master

Mafia - Salvatore's mansion - Ammunation is in the mansion - mafia car

Triads - Punk Noodles in Chinatown Ammunation in the punk noodles stand - Fishing truck

Diablos - Hepburn Heights in between the 2 projects - Ammunation is inside the project - diablo stallion

Make the gun system like SSV

Spawns and skins system for Staunton

Cops - Police Station - Ammunation is next to the spawn - cop car

Yardies - Near the multi story carpark in Newport - Ammunation inside the carpark 1st floor - yardie lobo

Columbians - Pan Lantic construction site - Ammunation is in the construction site - cartel cruiser

Yakuza - Kenji's casino - Ammunation is at the door of the casino - yakuza stinger

Same gun system as SSV

Who here likes this idea?

With regards to Portland, I don't think anyone would ever spawn as a garbage man as the garbage truck is just too slow. The other ones seem alright, but I'd bet that most people would spawn as Mafia.

I think there should be more than 4 classes for Staunton, as it's a bigger island. The army base would be a good spot, although I'm not sure which vehicle(s) you would choose for it.

Because of the islands being big, there needs to be at least 5 or more spawns. Maybe the garbage man isn't that good of a spawn. How about the columbians spawn at the ship? There needs to be more action on that side. I'm not sure if this will avoid a spawn war, but why not make people spawn next to their gang car like the cops?

Why there is no m16 :?: Hard to sync :?::wink:

I think its because there is too much power. I say have it in ammunation but for $6000 or more.

Alright, for all the idiots saying "Portland is in 0.5" are really not getting what Im saying. Im saying the days of Portland, the overall map, the feel, and the memories are way better than SSV. I should of said, "Why Portland is better than SSV".

SSV -- Yakuza spawn wars 24/7 with the most un-realistic jump ever.

Portland -- Overall wide-map fighting with races going on and stunting with realistic jumping.

I see you put in the jump for car killers, but I'd rather have it as normal jump. For spawn wars and only one character use, just have yourself spawn next to cars all around the map. As for character use, Im not sure, but I really do miss Fido.

0.4.1 Portland I feel is better than 0.5 SSV is because of the memories I had and the vets that played. I remember me, Mike, Vicer, Slothman, and many others would just sit like 2 hours a day just trying to get into Joey's Garage. Seems boring? No, it was actually fun, ask them! And the cave searching was endless fun, and always trying to land on it or trying to get out of the cave. The Dodo Duels were priceless on that Mafia Hill. At the airport it's not as fun and you're not getting as great as of memories. Portland STUNTING NOT 0.5 STUNTING is better than SSV is because of all the jumps and high jumps you can do. Sure, SSV is hilly, but it was alot better in Portland.

The character skins are very very bad too, I don't really like them at all. Maybe have a Fido skin and an 8-Ball skin for like them prisoner outfits for a skin choose. Have normal Fido and 8-Ball skin type. Have a Catalina skin type with that other Colombian dude. Have a Yakuza spawn with that girl on there and her brother (that guy in 0.5).

Like this:

--SPAWN CHARACTERS-- Skin randomly chooses between set of characters, like in VC,

Prisoner: Fido and 8-Ball

Casual Badasses: Fido and 8-Ball normal outfits

Mafia: Joey in a suit, that one other guy in a suit, Salvatore Leone.

Yakuza: Asuka and her brother.

Colombians: Catalina and that guy in 0.5--her new BF I can't remember?

Triads: Chunky Lee Chong and a gang member.

Yardies: Gang member outfit, nothing else unless their leader.

Secret Services: Donald Love and Ray I think his name is, the one in the public urinal place where you do his missions.

That's all I can think of, but have it randomly choose one of these characters for the type of person you can to spawn as. Have each of there gang cars spread all over each map and have them spawn by their vehicle. As for Prisoner have it be that van they're in at the first cut-scene, that Kurama, and a normal Burrito van I think it is. Secret service, have it be the FBI Cars. Casual Badasses are just normal cars they spawn by throughout the map. As for the others, you should know, their gang cars...

I think you have to ask yourself why more people play Shoreside Vale than Portland. I think you will find the answer is that they prefer it, and that you are in the minority. If you, personally, don't like Shoreside then stick to Portland servers

As for 'the memories are better' well that made me laugh. Personally I have memories of good times in every single incarnation of MTA. And those memories arent of 'oh what a great skin i had' or 'that was a great place to spawn' they are far more meaningful and unique than that and involve people, activities and experiences that werent dependant in any way on what was provided but depended on what we made of it.

The islands are treated differently to provide a different gameplay experience in each, and it will remain this way.

Fine, then you're way sucks. Sorry, but ask anyone.

You need to change the way of things before this bites the dust. Top number of people that play GTA3 is 10 people. In 0.4.1 alot more played in the Partyserver alone!! And the memories that you have is in the fricken development. Last time I saw you, you were in 0.3. Ask anyone that I've played with, only 'memory' of a good one is when me and Slothman were always trying to get on the Hospital using the Cops. Look Bump, alot of people play SSV who don't want to but have to! Because if they go to another map, it won't get populated because a person who wants to go to the map will see only one person is there, so they decided "f*** it, Im going to a populated server" Which is ONLY THE CHALLANGE SERVER which plays SSV.

My way of what? Ask them what? (Saying something 'sucks' isn't a particularly useful or illuminating criticism either.)

I Dont think thats your decision to make is it.

Top number of people that play GTA3 is 10 people.

Actually I often have to try 3 or 4 servers before i can get on as they are all full.

In 0.4.1 alot more played in the Partyserver alone!!

I couldn;t comment, Ive never played in the partyservers

And the memories that you have is in the fricken development.

If by that your suggesting the memories i mentioned above relate to development then you are incorrect. I'm referring to playing in public servers with release versions.

Last time I saw you, you were in 0.3.

I guess we dont play in the same places then, hardly relevant.

Ask anyone that I've played with, only 'memory' of a good one is when me and Slothman were always trying to get on the Hospital using the Cops.

I'm not sure how everyone you've ever played with would share specific memories only of that session with those people, did they all never play at any other time? Surely that can't be true as you insinuate above that youd played with me, and I played the majority of times without you being in the server.

Look Bump, alot of people play SSV who don't want to but have to!

I find that rather unlikely, why on earth woudl one play onsomethign one didn't enjoy?

Because if they go to another map, it won't get populated because a person who wants to go to the map will see only one person is there, so they decided "f*** it, Im going to a populated server

So your suggestion is that everyone plays a game mode they hate because nobody plays the one that everyone loves, which is much better. And that everyone will sit and wait for that other, horrible one, to fill up but not the nice one? Again not really a realistic suggestion

Which is ONLY THE CHALLANGE SERVER which plays SSV.
I dont really follow what you are saying there, sorry.
