*Que Fast Paced Music* GTA:SA is now available on PC!

San Andreas come out for Playstation some 8 months ago. While playing though, you just feel as your missing something. Some of the things PC offers include: Better graphics, superior controls... did I mension better graphics? Laugh.

If/When San Andreas hits Multiplayer which does seem like a certainty, but when is another story... Don't forget the size of the city (basically the large area to have fun on), if your a bike cruiser don't forget there are 5 or so different speed bikes along. Airplanes??... Dogfights multiplayer. How about a gang war where your team drops in from the sky with parachuts. What your tired of killing, no more racing, and that last jump got ya a bit shaky so parachuting is out? Well how much cash you got, maybe take a bit of leisure time and go hit the roulette table.... What you want to race down the strip infront of the casinos at night time first, not too tired of racing it seems. Laugh. Or try competing on bicycles in the half pipe. All things possible with SA. And it's going to get interesting. Oh btw... care to go for a swim?

That is just the things perhaps possible within the game.. also there is plenty of water around... mapping a small island for duels that people can swim too/para? Not a bad idea. Maybe a mile strip for bike races.

Question with that type stuff is, is it going to be possible to use user made maps in multi SA. If some servers host the user made maps perhaps, unfortunately but not that unfortunate the regular map will be used on most servers. But if any good user maps are made specifically for certain things perhaps that will work, time will tell. The regular map thought does seem as if it's going to work fine. But small islands on the outside for multi things such as dueling/racing etc. may be tempting.

If there was an admin mod that could control what vehicles are currently in play, how many of them are spawned, where players spawned, and maybe friendly fire (so you can't hurt team mates) that right there would be a could way to make scenario style games. Such as admin setting up 2 areas for spawns (2 teams) and so many planes there for the players. Then let the dogfights begin. Or if it's not that easy someone like that could be done with just a user mod so to speak but if admin had controls you could have a variety of thigns to setup combo's or whatever everyone is feeling like. If you were to do the dogfight style with planes, if your plan goes down you could parachut out and there could be rocket/powerful guns every block or so to shoot down planes.

Basically it would be nice to have a admin mod to be able to controlsplayer starting points (for teams) , what vehicles and weapons are currently in the map and how many. That right there has many combo's open to how the game would be played. Of course the ol' regular will be good, good is an understatement, but for indepth play a admin mod with those basic controls could set up some good fun. For boat attacks, for bike attacks, for all plan style, etc etc. But also could create problems with admin abuse which is why you could have a vote or something pop up real quick with options saying 1-5... 1: regular 2: dogfights 3:Boat attack .. etc etc. What ever has most votes is played for a 20min period or something till another vote. It's a vague and shallow setup at the molment, but with some more thought and corrently done could work well. Just ideas. We'll have to see how things work out.

Let's pretend your in SA right now. A vote pops up as what you want to play.

VOTE:

1. Regular

2. Dogfight (planes)

3. Boats

4. Bike

5. Scenario

Let's say 5. Scenario was picked you could have another vote pop up

VOTE SCENARIO:

1. Capture the man

2. Stop the drugs from entering Los Santos

3. Air Vs Ground

If 4. Boats was voted then you could have a sub-vote pop up for

VOTE BOATS:

1. Boat attack (everyone spawns with a boat with guns on it)

2. Boat Race (everyone spawns with speed boats)

3. etc etc.

As one of those is votes let's say it's 1. Capture the man (Also capture the flag would be a fun one but some such as a weapon or a bike would have to be used as the flag if no 3rd party graphics were to be used) ... one person is randomly chosen (basically like manhunt) and the rest try and get him. But done correcty so his bleep on the map is a certain color to find etc.

If it's Air Vs Ground map starts with half and half teams some in airplanes some on the ground with rocket launchers, big guns etc.

Just a prototype of an idea, quick thoughts but could lead somewhere good. Basically just an external program for admins or just ingame of how the game is setup. Not the buildings, but just the movable things such as players, vehicles and weapons being setup in a certain fashion. Which should be possible.

Basically a quick run down of the above topic idea would be:

Since the player starting points, car starting points and the amount of cars/vehicle starting points, as well as weapon starting points and the amount of those... are determined by MTA in the multiplayer version of SA, then, have a admin mod or a program capable of placing the appropriate things in the appropriate place for the appropriate occasion. Such as if the voting idea was taken into effect. Where people for every so often to decide what goes on "Dogfight" in teams could be the vote. Thus players start in a certain location with planes in a certain location by them or them already in, and weapon placed at specific points. This should not be hard to do, just perhaps some preprogramming of where things are started for what is voted. Since it is determined where vehicles, players, and weapons start anyways in the multi version. There just need to be a specific set of locations for each mode voted or otherwise. Which once again should be simplistic. Soo nce again to reiterate what is it this idea is for SA... basically being able to manipulate the starting locations for the creator placed things such as vehicles, player starting locations, etc. in an orderly fashion, which would open a variety of gameplay possibilities.

Example:

If there was a vote taken to decide what was to be played.

1. regular

2. boats

3. air vs ground

If 1 was voted (regular) all the starting points stay regular, cars, weapons etc. If SA is split into areas like GTA3.. there could also be a sub-menu pop up that asks what area to play in, such as 1.los santos 2.san fierro 3. las venturas then the map reloads in that area.

If 3 was voted (air vs ground) map reloads, half the players starting on the ground with "big guns" around, and half the players start somewhere with planes around.

If 2 was voted (boats), there could be a sub-menu that pops up after 2 has voted. Giving you more options for boats, such as attack boats (boats with guns) Players start with a boat with guns. There could be another quick vote weather it should be free for all or teams. Etc.

Or admin could just control it, but that could result in admin abuse or basically what ever the admin feels like playing is played, which is why the vote could work well.

All this basically does is decide where the cars, players, weapons are placed which already have to be added in anyways. So by places those things in certain areas it creates a new scenario each time. Now if this can even work or just how in depth can it go is another story. As far as are you able to make it so teams can't hurt each other, would it be hard to do a vote where the map reloads? All things seems plausable and would open a variety of ways to play the game in a certain scenario style.

Once again a vague idea atm, just a quick thought, but could work out well.

Read and feel free to give feedback. Or not. But don't complain about the size of it, I know yas have had that problem with girls (laugh)... but if you don't want to read it, dont and that's that.

What is talked about requires what some would think a "lengthy" explanation.

Anyone feel free to give feedback on the idea, or if the idea is even being understood and clearly put across.

More and more I think about it, it sounds like a good idea. I may reiterate it in a perhaps more "understanding", updated, and clearly layed out way. Showing why it could indeed be a good if not great idea. Basically since it's impossible to have the whole city setup at once, or so it would seem, then this is a good way to have things setup fun, give a variety of things to do, plus be able to play in city to city without joining a different server, but just reloading the map to where everyone wants to go next.

Anyways enough about the "idea" for now, perhaps put more into effect later.

The DVD-PC version of San Andreas is a booklet, like a driving manual type booklet or a small tourist type booklet. Says "City Guides" on it as has the San Andreas cities listed on the cover. Inside has a map, info about the game/cities etc., and the DVD in the back of the book in a comfy spot. Pretty cool.

Skylines look great, sounds quality is crisp, and graphic/controls are superior to the consol versions. Have fun.

First off, if DM was ready, no map making unit would be needed (which has said to be main reason of delay). For a few reasons including, why would you want to DM on other structured areas other than the SA grounds ..! Secondly, why would you want to DM on other grounds other than the SA ground ..! Now if placing cars, since there is a limit, is a problem.. simply have say four different "voted" areas which is where cars and players start, where you can vote for the three of the main areas in SA or the forth being spread out over all.

Now all the map modifying is not needed .. at all.. thus far in that equation which I would think most would agree = ready for launch for captain. Oh did you want me to call you by your first name, bull$hit, if the release isn't ready and you have underlined the fact that you "bitten off more than you can chew", then just say so, but blaming it on a "map editor " is not the way to go. And if is the real real reason, try giving and honest answer to to why that is so. Not shady remarks as to "everyone will need this" .. yeah why ?

Btw did you relize GTA4 is coming out in about 10 months. That also most likely or most definitely supports multi-player. So your lack of doing anything, or nothing.. or if you have been working on it but not releasing it is slowly going to bring everything to a hault. So without a "map editor released" or with .. time is taking away.

Formost I'd like to sum this up as to say, you are the ones making this, why should anyone be bitching at you for it. If it wasn't for you there would be nothing to "bitch" about.. right? Well, people also get cought up in the idea of what can be, and you are promising such a thing, but delaying with excuses, none backed up by any sort of legitment answer. So if there is nothing there is nothing, but if you say there is something, people hold it up there that there is something .. then slowly it drops to nothing, then what were they holding it up for.

I can't quite follow what you're saying, but it kind of sounds like its moaning, aimed at the MTA team (which is why i'm replying :))

There's always a limit for certain objects, but it's been knocked up pretty high in MTASA, thanks to 'streaming', so it's possible to have thousands of vehicles and/or objects.

Releasing without the map editor is pretty much the last resort, which could happen, most of the team are inactive/busy right now, never-the-less we're trying to get it done. It's not just for making maps, theres a lot more to it, it's a large part of the gameplay.

You shouldn't be thinking that the map editor is the only thing left to do either, theres quite a lot of things to do/fix in deathmatch too, but it is a fairly small amount relative to how much has already been done.

You'll soon find out what has taken so long, but until then you need to be patient.

Has multiplayer for GTA4 been confirmed yet? I'm not up to date with it, last time i checked there were advertisements for networking jobs for rockstar (were those even for GTA4 or did someone assume it?) and they hadn't said if/when it will be released for PC.

If it does have multiplayer, will it have the type of multiplayer we all want? Will it really match up to the fun people have had and possibly will have in MTA?

I doubt it, if it does have it, there will be a influx of 100000000000000000000 clans and cockheads, where as in mta u have a few of those, and most of the community know each other in some way or another
