Ubuntu vs Debian

Recommended Posts

It's not the same. Personally I would choose Debian 7. It's very simple and functional OS. Also all servers, in my opinion, works much smoother than Ubuntu. But those are only my thoughts.

^ as you said it's only your thoughts . i already tried both , there is no big difference.

Ubuntu server after installation:    ~130MB RAM usage
Debian after installation:            ~29MB RAM usage

Easy choice if your server has a low amount of RAM. Also, let's not forget that Ubuntu is based on Debian which is the reason why Debian is more light weight in general. Ubuntu may be a little more user friendly however.
