Hello all!

G&T Mapping here again, as usual at your service!

Providing you with the latest high quality maps FOR FREE, made by us.

Introduction:

We're happy to anounce that the Public test version of our custom world 2.0 is now ready to download and test by the MTA community, i cannot emphasize enough that we need feedback from the community to make the best maps possible, so we ask of anyone that will try out the public test version to give us some feedback in return.

We will keep up an active change log for all bug fixes and added features

Map description:

In addition to our first island we have added a second island so the map now consists of two separate islands where players are free to go and explore.

(Check the change log for more info)

Important to note: We understand that the video quality is mediocre at best, due to busted hardware we weren't able to record nor produce the videos with HD quality, though we decided to still release the content, regardless of the videos.

How to install

*The world will be a separate map file including some resources, and all the textures.

*Simly unpack the zip folder in your server's resource folder.

*Turn on gtloader through the console or admin panel to auto-load all the models, and you're good to go.

*If you want to run this map next to your exsisting free roam map you will have to load up both .map files.

*The world will come with the default MTA deathmatch game mode. (We encourage testers to use their own game modes)

*Fixed corner textures.

Unresolved bugs:

*From a aerial perspective you can clearly see object limit kicking in pretty hard, though this does not affect you on the ground levels.

*Vehicles tend to load faster than the objects resulting in them falling beneath the floor.

Feedback.

All the feedback, suggestions and bug reports regarding the public test version may be submited in personal messages to myself or tails on the MTA forums. Please be clear about what kind of bug you're submiting, when you encountered it, and any posible solutions.

We sort of had decided not to add any bridges but we will let you know if we change our minds. We're also are adding a third island soon featuring new roads, bridges and a hillside possibly.

Any possibility of a seperate release containing only custom objects like bridges and roads?

We might actually set up a file like the one you're refering to, only not before we are completly done with our main project, for now you're free to use the objects in any map of your own in any way as you see usefull, just remember to include where you got the objects from and to support us by giving much needed feedback, this could be a suggestion, a bug report or even a fix.

This map is perfect for a RP server. The details are nice , also the bridge is awesome. Try to make some islands with vegetation(forests , deserts , lagoons, gulfs , etc..) and countryside zones. Also, try to make a port.

Thanks for trying out one of our products.

At this moment, as the title says, the custom island is still in public test, and we would like the community to test and experience it first hand with us, the ideal situation would be where the community even takes it a step further, for example by adding their own game modes and script on it, or even change the map to you own liking and use it on your server, we aplaud all these people and we're very anxious to receive feedback on this, maybe by suplying a link to your server or just the files.

That said, we have big plans for this project ourself, and we view it as our main project thus far, we will certainly add more areas, even some like the ones you already mentioned.

I'm always a bit hesitant on giving out too many details on what were planning to add or release because ideas get tossed around alot and we might just decide to go with something totally different.

As it sits we would like to create a world map similar to gta3, including mountains, forrest, deserts etc.

Though note we do not want to create a second gta3, the positions of the islands would be the only thing that resembles the world.

When I open the map "gtcustomworld",I see water in most of the places and some non-collision objects.I tested it in F5 but nothing changed.

Once you've successfully uploaded the map, you can view the obejcts in editor by selecting one of the objects, through the object panel. (current elements list.)

As far as testing goes, we did include a default game mode for people to test, but any game mode will work. (make sure the gamemode is active through map definitions etc.

If you have any other questions or you still can't figure it out, let me know and we'll try to sort it out for you.

Hi there, excuse me for the late response. In order to get it working try this:

Extract the entire .zip into your server's resourcers folder, usually: Multi Theft Auto\server\mods\deathmatch\resources

Connect to your server and type refresh in the console window so the server will detect the new resources

Now in the console again type in, start gtcustomworld

See what happens then if you only see weird objects try to start gtloader or restart gtloader.

It should work. If not, let me know again.

For the editor just open up the map and type in start gtloader in the console

When I type "start gtcustomworld" in console I get this:

start: Resource 'gtcustomworld' start was requested (Failed to link to gtloader)

When I type "start gtworld" it says resource could not be found.

@Derp42, Did you extract the contents properly? Verify by checking the resources in the admin panel, hit refresh first as well as 'refresh' in the console without the quotation marks. I will be improving the structure of the .zip/resource in the next beta, hopefully it should be easier to install it then without any failures.

To avoid any further confusion about the models not loading, please remember to use our auto load tool that is included with the map file, turn on gtloader through the console or admin panel to auto-load all the models, and you're good to go.
