Server Problem

Recommended Posts

Ok, I am trying to run a server for VC. I downloaded the win32 files for the server config. I looked in the manual it said to run the install but the only program I double click on there just starts up the server not an installation program. What should I do?

Another thing is there teamplay? Thanks.

Well, I looked in the manual on the site that says manual and then I looked in the server part. Thats what it said I am pretty sure, but the point is that I can't get my server to run. I start up the program then enter the ip that I found in the config file and it won't connect. I also tried searching for it on the all seeing eye but found nothing. Anyone help me out?

If anyone owns a good server shoot me an email if you would like to help out [NYM].

[email protected]

Lefty the manual says if you downloaded the isntall version just run the install, you probable downloaded the zip version.

So what you can do is download the server config tool to edit the details and start the servver up how you like.or download the install version.

There isnt really teamplay there are classes, but theres also mtama which some server use to play teammode ,manhunt etcetc ( look in addons section for mtama info) But this is only text that show up in the chatbox,so nothign in game changes so if people just want to be idiots and not play the mode you have selected they can , but i also think some of these scripts can kick people for killing people on their team to much.

MTAMA is the closest thing we have to gamemodes

Ok, Im back. I downloaded it and put it in my server folder on my desktop. I ran it and set my settings. I clicked the button Save settings and launch and it did. I am getting 2 errors now though. They say this.

Error: Max players must be specified in the config file.

Error: Serverport, game and all that must be too.

This confuses me cause I have a config file and I set it all?

Ok something like that ussually means that you skipped one of the boxes, go to the folder where the files are and click mtaserver.conf and open it in notepad , copy the texts and paste it here so i can help you , ( remember remove the parts they should remain secret *admin password and your ip *)

That should be it. Another question is there a way to set a certain config thing to make it so everyone playing gets full resources from my server comp so it runs flawless? Thanks.

HMMmmm. dont see anythign wrong with it sorry, only thing i can think of is that the port you are using for mta is already used for somethign else or that you have a router and/or firewall , if you do configure them and open the port your using ( defualt is 2003 for mta).
