WTF: Multi Theft Auto and GTA San Andreas stopped working

SexyNerd96

Question

MTA and GTA: SA stopped working.

I didn't install updates or do changes on the computer, they just stopped working suddenly.

This is what happens:

If I start MTA or GTA: San Andreas, after the big "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" screen, it just closes without any error.

I have tried the following:

Deleting the gta_sa.set in the "San Andreas User Files" directory but not worked,

Checking in the "dxdiag" window if the 3D acceleration was enabled but it's ok,

Checking if there was a d3d9.dll in the main directory, but there's no one,

Creating a new user account... not worked.

So I have decided to reinstall GTA: San Andreas and MTA: San andreas, with no luck, still crashes.

Then I have tried to plug in a Xbox360 controller and now SA and MTA work, but I can't use this controller 'cause it's not mine... when I unplug it and I try to run MTA or SA, they just close and bring me back to desktop.

MTA and GTA: SA were working PERFECTLY, then they stopped working without any reason, what happened? I can't understand

I repeat: I didn't change ANYTHING in the system configuration, I didn't install ANY update or application.

My System:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 5000+ 2.66 GHz

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT 512 MB

RAM: 3 GB DDR3

OS: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3

Please help me

EDIT: Tried to install the latest DirectX libraries, still crashes :|

Your Grand Theft Auto installation is missing one or more files.
Please reinstall GTA and see if MTA works then.
Press any key to continue . . .

So I tried to do a COMPLETE installation (not the minimal, the one that requires the DVD inserted to play) and now IT WORKS. I don't understand why it wasn't working, I had always the DVD in the DVD drive...

Thanks, toxicsmoke11, I didn't think about MTADiag. :D Have a good day
