6. No, but since I removed it all anyway, this shouldn't really matter

7. 1.0, with a no-CD patch (interestingly, before I applied the patch, it told me it couldn't recognize what version of Vice City I was running...)

8. Every time.

9. Yes.

I never had a problem with 0.2.2, with or without the CD patch. Also, as others have noted, it's not just the radar that's empty, it's the entire game world. I've tried running the client in Win2k compatibility mode and tried Alt-Tabbing out and back in after I started the game, and neither worked.

Yes, A dev is responding, well i'm not a dev, but i'd like to share my experience. I have had this problem once during a test. all i did was reinstall it again. I think (but this has to be confirmed) that some file remains and doesn't get overwritten. If anyone feels like testing it : uninstall everything (GTA and MTA) remove there directorys (GTA dir, MTA dir and mta.ini in the windows folder) and then install everything again, preferably in a different location

Answers:

- Windows XP pro SP1 (updated all from internet)

- NO router (ISDN 64k) but the problem there is also in LAN..

- MTA: c:\programmi\mta\

- GAME: c:\games\Grand Theft Auto Vice City\

- I have delete all MTA:VC 0.2.2 files and then install 0.3

- I use the 1.0.. because the 1.1 don't work fine with MTA (the color in radar don't work with 1.1)

- every time a enter in the game.. (i try in 2 computers)

- For the first time i use the installer.. but the server won't start from the link (the working directory is incorrect)..

but after this i had uninstall and try manual install but NADA.. the game don't work..

i don't see nothing.. no players.. no radar.. no syncro.. but the chat work

Yeah I have the radar problem but I also get kicked(crashes). And heres the pop-up message I get,

mtaclient.jpg

Well, Hope this helps somehow. I think that the client is simply not updating the game with the info or w/e. And since its not updating the game with the info, it must think that you havnt started the game, so it times out with that stupid message. Its Just what Flash said..

I seem to have been the only one who has CAUGHT ON to this.. but..

I don't have the radar problem.. BUT.. I did get it a few times.. (2 or 3)

This gave me a chance to notice some really weird behavior in what VC did..

When I started VC (using START GAME) a couple of times i'd click the client again, and VC would be minimized, or VC would just be minimized, anyways..

if i click the taskbar, to make VC restore itself, it seems fine.. but i join a game, and boom. the RADAR BUG!!

I've asked two other people, when they were complaining about the radar bug.. they BOTH denied that their VC was minimizing.. then they restarted, and came back.. they ACKNOWLEDGED vc WAS in fact, minimizing, for a short period of time... I don't know WHY it does this.. but some people seem to get it 100% of the time.. others, only when VC acts a bit weird..

Just to clarify, yes, my radar works in-game, unless VC somehow gets minimized at the start of the game (not sure if minimizing while in-game affects this or not)

Okay, Ive messed around with it, and you guys fixed the radar problem, but my game still crashes after about 45 seconds of playing. With this damn pop-up msg,

Ok people thankyou very much for your response, as you can see a patched version is now available and i strongly suggest that everyone uses it wether you suffered the radar problem or not. Your information was a great help in eliminating many possibilities which in turn helped us to find the actual problem. Thanks again and happy mta'ing.
