UPDATE #3!

December Issue Featuring GTA V To Launch Digitally On November 8

We announced our new cover back on October 11, and today we can share with you the release schedule for our December issue featuring Grand Theft Auto V.

In the morning of November 8, we will reveal the cover art and give you a break down of the issue (hint: the story is huge - over 18 pages in print - and full of details and screens we can't wait to share). Then, in the afternoon (US Central time) we will release the digital edition of Game Informer to iPad, 10-inch Android devices, and PC/Mac. Print issues will already be in the mail and should arrive to subscribers in the weeks that follow. Print newsstand is November 16.

Game Informer Digital subscribers have access to all three digital editions, or you can purchase the individual issues on iPad or Android for $4.99 (or subscribe directly to those devices through the appropriate storefront for $19.99). Game Informer Digital is available worldwide if you have the appropriate credit card and email information.

The tablet app itself is free for iPad and Android and you can check it out now (including a free copy of the Gears of War: Judgment issue).

Digital subs can be purchased directly online through us (via GameStop) or by visiting a GameStop store location, but it can take up to 48 hours to process (we know it's dumb and are working on it). Please subscribe early if you want access to all the editions. This is the only way to access the PC/Mac editions. Otherwise, iPad and Android are available for purchase instantly. The issue will also be available through Google's Play Magazine app as soon as possible. This supports all Android devices, but currently isn't part of our Game Informer Digital subscription and must be purchased separately. If you are looking for single print issues internationally, please contact [email protected] (rates depend on location).

So if you live in the US, go vote on the 6th, spend the 7th speculating and getting excited, and then grab your digital issue on the 8th! Everyone else in the world can skip the voting.

UPDATE #4!

Grand Theft Auto V Now Officially Available for Pre-Order

Starting today, Grand Theft Auto V is officially available for pre-order everywhere. For those of you that might prefer online retail to the more traditional brick and mortar, we've included a list of links to some popular retailers below (we'll add additional international retail links here as they become available).

We're also making available the newest official artwork from the game that was featured in last week's announcement. Grab “Beach Weather” from the Rockstar Downloads page and look for much, much more to be revealed - including the Game Informer cover story later this week as well as an update on the release of the next official trailer.

I like the idea of multiple protagonists, it will be interesting to see how Rockstar handles that. Plus the map will be the size of Red Dead Redemption, GTA:SA and GTA:IV combined, which I'm really looking forward to exploring. The GI cover was great and answered some important questions, but I feel like some stuff was left out as well. Brandon you should remove that link, because it contains copyrighted material.

I've never played Red Dead Redemption but SA use to frustrate me a little when lost in the desert for the first time. I guess the benefit of having such a huge map is the unexpected and not knowing what will happen next. Though I do hope its not too big because sometimes isolation can ruin the rhythm of a game.

Z3RB1AN I agree I hope its not too big either. When I bought Just Cause 2 I was excited to see how big the map was, but after playing a while I hated the map size it was just to big. Took me a long time to get from one place to another. So I hope the GTA V map is only half the size of that. About Red Dead Redemption, you should try it sometime it's an amazing game, in my opinion it's the best game I've played so far this gen, but it does take a while to navigate around that map too, but Rockstar added a teleport feature which made it a lot easier. About SA, It was a nice size but seemed a little small, but I guess thats due to all the time I've put into it.

Well, if jets actually go fast this time, it might not be that hard to travel. Also supercars should be able to go a 300KM/h, in SA you couldnt even get over 198KM/h with the Infernus. Also the Hydra didn't go any faster than 240KM/h, so if planes can go up to a realistic speed you can travel really fast.

I never said Just Cause 2 was a bad game. I actually enjoyed it and I'm enjoying the multiplayer mod for it, but I think the map size is just too big.

Back on topic. IGN posted that starting next week on Monday they will be releasing new GTA V information everyday the whole week.
