Single player starts instead of MTA

Drag0nflamez

Question

Whenever I try to start MTA:SA 1.3 on my friend's computer, it always seems to run single player, for some reason. I know this issue existed *somewhere in the past*, but it isn't in the FAQ anymore (and I have looked at quite a few historic versions of it).

It's a brand new Samsung laptop which definitely is to the minimum specs etc etc etc etc, but it probably isn't that. (don't have it that close to me)

Thanks in advance.

OK, the drivers installed properly.

Please try using windowed mode. Go to your Multi Theft Auto installation directory, then open MTA\coreconfig.xml with Notepad.

Find 0 and change it to 1.

Save and close the file.

Try launching MTA now. If it doesn't work, please paste the contents of logfile.txt within

 tags.

I'm having the same issue, I have tried your recomendations excepting the last one MTA/coreconfig.xml, I do not have this file it doesnt seem to be created when installing or after first run. I'm thinking this is some weird permissions issue? I'm running both MTA and SA as administrator. As far as I can tell my folders have the same files as the ones pictured heres a copy of my logfile

Here's a bit more info, I've also noticed when the installer is running there are files that get skipped, the dialog is too fast for me to see what they are but it happens twords the end of the install process, during inflation or extraction (not sure what the installer is doing at that point) but jsut before setup is complete would you like to launch yadda yadda.

The new installer doesnt seem to do anything, MTA is running in the background, if that makes any difference and is terminated when i close out the single player game.

I'm currently using a folder on my secondary drive with full rights access,x:\MTA the SA install is located x:\MTA\GTASA (as far as windows sharing and security tab is concerned) I have also tried installing MTA to program files (x86), as well as the normal steam\steamapps\common\GTASA for the SA install (switched to the aformentioned x:\MTA after some time troubleshooting the issue)

I'm running the steam version using the nocd 1.0 exe. I can run either single player location using the cracked exe with or without steam running. Not sure if others that are having the issue are running the steam version or the origional 1.0 .
