1. Start Notepad

2. File->Open

3. Copy this into the file name box: C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\x86_policy.9.0.microsoft.vc90.openmp_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.5570_none_0e94c157b72a923c.manifest

4. Press Open

Copy and paste the content here.

This is the cause of the problem - Windows can't find the file.

Please open 'Control Panel' and select 'Programs and Features'.

Scroll down to show all entries that start with 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable...'

Please upload a screen shot of that.

Then open 'Command Prompt' and copy and paste the following command (you'll have to use right mouse click to paste):

dir C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests >x.txt

and press enter.

This will create a file called x.txt

Zip that file and upload it somewhere.

Well, one of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable's is half uninstalled, and will give you problems unless you can find a way to reinstall it. I suggest you try a windows restore from an earlier save point.

It's that or reinstall windows.

Guys...well really I'm not gonna get XP, people say it is gonna make my PC hell.

Well...I just got Microsoft's Visual Studio package and tried to install

Microsoft Visual Studio C# - but it failed.

Then I tried to install Microsoft Visual Studio C++ - and it was successfully installed.

Now..I want The Redristributable thingy.

when I try to install that

I get this error:

"Error1935,An error during the installation of assembly 'policy.9.0.Microsoft,VC90.OpenMP ,version="9.0.21022.8" ,publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b" ,processorArchitecture="x86" ,type="win32-policy" . Please refer to Help and Support for more inforemation. HRESULT: 0x80073712."
