A Stream Fix feature request

I think I have the reason why there is no response from MTA team.

Well, if MTA Team have to import ASI files, ASI files're DLLs files, so it will be easy to hack MTA. For example, I can modify tha ASI file and make a nice hack system

ASI files cannot be protected, because as I know (correct me if I'm wrong) there is no way to "protect" an ASI file.

As we've said before we cannot support ASI files as they can execute arbitrary code. There doesn't seem to be any source available for this ASI stream fix, so nobody other than the author knows exactly what it does.

Sorry for double post but...

The newest MTAQA video, on News Round Up - Spring Edition on Youtube, has this top rated comment:

Thumbs up if MTA SA 1.1 should feature a stream memory fix for custom models and better FPS.

(Taken from

)

For the better FPS, that's the fix on MTA SA 1.0.5 and 1.1, you can enjoy better FPS in 1.0.5 for now.

They should redirect about the stream memory fix here. We have tried to find the source code, but there isn't.

Ok, let's just hope Alexander_Blade comes back and give MTA Team the source code of the SA Stream Memory Fix. Other than that, there's no possible safe way.

Why would MTA SA make ASI compability? With that, then CLEO mods are possible. MTA SA aims not to make that possible, because it's not safe.

I insist: we all can hack MTA with ASI / CS files.

& as Towncivilian said:

Another option of how to get the source code is to ask Ashcratt as he's been making SA Limit Adjuster 2 for the next version of GTA United. There was a download link for the source code on his site before it was taken down. Worth a shot to ask him for the source code.

EDIT

I luckily had a copy of the source code for the Limit Adjuster backed up on a cd from years ago. Here is the link: http://www.mediafire.com/?tmigdrpopa0pwlt

Wow thanks a lot mike_samaki! Ypu gave us hope. We could ask ashcratt for the newer version, I think the newer is better.

We can also use Sacky's limit adjuster's source code (old version), all thanks to mike_samaki.

Now awaiting response from the MTA SA team... :D

Ehem, anybody can edit the MTA SA's data and then inject the limit adjuster's source code into a custom build? Anyone who can do that will be greatly appreciated. :)

Alright, a mirror from me. It will be better than Mediafire!

Yes! Nice, mike! This should added, but as Town said, we don't know exactly what it does, anyway FPS issues were fixed on 1.1.

There are many people creating a Stream feature, so I think MTA Team can make it too... I believe they will fix all streams bugs before 1.1 .

There are various reports on the mantis about streamer so why do you have to "bump" your topic?

ccw did a "streamer rewrite" 5 days ago http://code.google.com/p/mtasa-blue/sou ... ail?r=2677 maybe you should start checking mantis/googlecode before thinking you're being ignored.

I've spent so many hours modding SA and now it looks so much better. It's horrible to see the textures pop and disappear, unless I use Alex's Stream Memory Fix.

I'm very excited to see this feature has been taken in to consideration. This has to be the most requested feature I suppose. This needs to be implemented first before anything else. I don't care about new features, I just want this first before anything else :D

BTW, I can confirm the lagging. Needs to be fixed.

Obviously if you mod your GTA:SA, the MTA Team has nothing to do because MTA hasn't been made for play with mods.

Alex's stream fix cannot be imported to the MTA, because MTA Team can't handle ASI files, as Towncivilian said, no one knows how it works exepting the author.

After that feature my local server is so unstable, I can't do anything because my PC starts to lag when I'm using map editor & hosting my local server, well, the CPU ussage goes up to 100 sometimes, not like in 1.0 series.

Glad the team added Sacky's Limit Adjuster into MTA! Been waiting for this feature for a long time. Tried the latest Nightly Build out along with SRT1.7 and Project Oblivion 2010 and it ran quite well and stable, the only problem was the sudden drop in fps at random times which I used to get in the previous MTA build, and that was default SA back then. Thumbs up to the team!
