Extremely low performance in MTA

serzhanja

Question

Hello, i have EXTREMELY low fps (3-7 f/s) while playing MTA. When i'm in the countryside, it's about 15 fps, when i fly around LS the framerate drops to about 5 and such rate persists even when i move to less poligonal regions. I do not have this problem while playing GTA single-player mode.

I tried changing resolution, but almost no difference between 640x480 and 1280x1024 and the same in windowed mode.

-tried performance tweaks - performance tool that disables almost all effects.

-installed latest drivers available for my system.

-lowered some texture resolutions and sprite resolutions (txd files).

-disabled/enabled AGP texture acceleration (helped before entered cities) and HW sound accel in dxdiag - NO results.

-tried changing graphics options in gta:Sa

Maybe MTA could integrate graphics options menu? How could i fix this problem?

absolutely right! it's very weird since gta:sa runs smoothly 3xAA very high, max drawD, everything maxed out in driver settings, but MTA is showing doubtful performance on lowest settings possible (even driver-specific), even though there are no peds, traffic in MTA and other stuff specific to system-hungry single-player

With your specs MTA should run fine enough, as I have all of the specs worst than yours and can run MTA quite smooth when there arent' more than 10 people near me.

Do you have latest DirectX?

You could check the task manager, maybe something (other than MTA, GTA) is eating CPU or RAM?

What OS do you use?

yes, i have the latest dX, well, at least the one after year 2005 (when SA was released).

windows is basically fresh, so no extra tasks in taskmon

os is WinXP SP2

i just don't understand how such loaded GTA (peds, cars, everything) runs smooth, but almost empty MTA - crappy

okay seems i've solved this problem - edited config_DX.ini in mta:sa folder.

what i did:

set SkipShader14=1

SkipShader20=1

EmulateDX81=0

DisableLighting=1

now FPS is about 23 - in most problem areas (LSPD, SF)

stay tuned.

I can't find that config_DX.ini file.
