httpdownloadurl - Please Help

Question

Hello, I host a few MTA servers for a few people and I noticed one of them is using significant amount of bandwidth, although not an issue, I would like to offload some of it onto a web server instead. I am trying to setup the httpdownloadurl setting in mtaserver.conf for resources.

My question, where do I point it to, do I do http://website.com/mtaserver/resources or http://website.com/mtaserver or do I set it up some other way? I know for HL2 source servers downloadurl is setup by pointing to a specific folder with your folders and files in it.

Can someone explain how I set this up.

I think I got it working, but I am getting a 404 error, which is file not found, etc.

Thanks!

I have tried 2 web servers, one which is hosted on the same dedi as the MTA server itself. I tried...

http://website.com/mtaserver/

http://website.com/mtaserver/resources

I am supposed to only upload the resource folder, or the whole server or what?

The problem, the servers I host are free, I host about 6 servers. This one is really popular, and the server admin thinks its because of the custom cars. Well he had a full server today, 32 players, and that server alone was using 1.5 to 2.0mb/s or 20mbps which is just un-acceptable, especially for a FREE server. My dedi's connection can handle it, but its close to the max then I would like. I like to have no more then 75% with 25% for spikes.

So I talked to him about it, looked over his server, and saw that he had 12-14 car mods, which are 3mb to 10mb EACH! So ALL of them download to each client, with 5 new clients every 10 minutes at least, that is gigabytes everyday just for car mods. So it seems httpdownloadurl is HIS only hope, since I cannot allow him to continue this way.

WHAT are the EXACT details for setting this up, where should I point the folder, what files need to be on the http, etc. Please give me precise instructions.

Thanks in advance!
