MTA isn't worth 1.0

Race mode for servers

  • Mapvote is bugged
  • No respawn maps like DD's --> if you join, you spawn but you are in spectator, but you block the survivors.
  • On respawn with ghostmode, you can crash against other cars

Map editor for race mode

  • The mta:race map editor: if you click up arrow, you go north with the object, now you go backwards in the direction of where your looking at (for maps on water, this sucks)
  • The test mode is bugged as well
  • NEW: A friend can't find his maps, not even at server, mods, deathmatch, resources, mapname.

Next time, test it.

and this vehicle change pickup should also be edited, so it´s the same like in MTA Sa Race... otherwise many maps wont work.

INFO: If you drive into a vehicle pickup you don´t "blow" up anymore...

What flemm means is that when you take a vehicle change pickup, a bit of vertical velocity should be applied to the vehicle, I suppose this was added in MTA:Race to prevent cars from getting stuck in the ground. When there's only one pickup this little thrust is barely noticable, but when multiple vehicle change pickups are placed on top of each other (usually different kinds else it won't work) some mappers discovered that you can 'teleport' a vehicle somewhere above.

The trick is used in many maps, especially DDs.

This one is known, you'll just have to stop the editor and start a race, for now.

We try our best to help - but when server admins simply refuse to participate in our Nightly Builds development process in order to ensure all bugs are fixed - we are unable to satisfy everyone. We've offered 1.0 race for beta test for several months, and tried to test it to the best of our ability. Perhaps if you were at least willing to test the upgrade process these issues would not have arised.

That is exactly true, lots of people that nagged about 1.0 never bothered to test the Nightlys and give feedback, all people want to do is play.

A slightly updated version of the 1.0 race resource has been uploaded to Community, get it here.

  • The "players who join DD go in spectate mode and block everyone else" bug has been fixed
  • race.edf was updated to better support deleting checkpoints
  • The healthbar on remote players now becomes completely empty when their vehicle's health reaches 250 (which is the point at which the car starts burning)

Also in votemanager, the random seeding using getTickCount() was removed to fix the "always shows the same maps" problem. Download here.

Another bugz with race mod:

Mr. hankey said about Lock movement to axis, now the 1st problem comes

The exploded cars on the road is now unmovable. so its still blocking

second: at race dd server tgher's no felling of real time battle. so you push/hit a car but it looks like a wall(no cheats) wiht no lag in the server, tested with several hosted servers(windows,linux). i miss the feeling like the mta race.

3th: if your burning and you get a heal spawn, the healthbar bugs sometimes.

4.some maps starts under the map. if you ar eon the road you can drive normal, but if you are out of the road youre then jsut fallling down. but at the race mod was so that you started to shake, and if there was a object in the near, you shaked alot harded if you hitted the object.

how could race mode be edited that this effect will work again, because it's needed for many maps...
