Router Questions before downloading MTA

If I download MultiTheftAuto, Would it mess with my router because when I download GTAMP for my GTA2, I have to buy a new router.

Well I had a Windows ME when I download GTAMP for GTA2 and it destroyed my internet and router for some reason...I had my internet but no router connection.Now I have a XP and I don't want to go through the same things all over again.

I don't think your previous router problems are somehow related to gta2 mp, and i'm sure mta won't break it too
