setTimer on PlaySound

Hey, im trying to put a Timer on a PlaySound function so the Sound can't be spammed.
Its triggering if ~= 1 Gamespeed.

sound = playSound("sounds/"..tostring(number)..".mp3")

I  appreciate any help & answers <3

	if isTimer(spamTimer) then
		return
		outputChatBox("Please don't spam")
	end

	sound = playSound("sounds/"..tostring(number)..".mp3")

	spamTimer = setTimer(resetTimer, 1000, 1)
end

function resetTimer()
	if isTimer(spamTimer) then
		killTimer(spamTimer)
	end
end
