Can you use the Xbox 360 controller to play GTA San Andreas?

I play GTA San Andreas and MTA San Andreas with a PS2 controller with a converter. You have only to configure the buttons in the game and IF the controller have two game axis(analog), you have 80% of chance to a Xbox 360 may be played on GTA and MTA san andreas with a converter. http://www.amazon.com to buy one

you don't need a converter for the 360 controller... It's USB

I have a convertor for my cube controller. and it works great :D (it is even more than 5 times as accurate as on the cube) (I dont like the ps2 controller so I didn't buy some ps2 rip-off controller), my friend has the same, but with a xbox controller... and if the xbox360 controller is allready usb just try it out and plug it in. Then go to control panel --> game controllers.

and if it doesn't work, you can allways try downloading some software for it if it exists.

actually i use an adapter that lets me put 2 ps2 pads into 1 usb port. i use a program joytokey (google it) that lets me map the controllers to do anything from mouse movement to typing sentences with one button press. great for emulators, but i also use it for san andreas because SAAC doesn't work to good for me.

I have an Xbox 360 wired PC controller and I've had mixed results with GTA-SA. I can't get any analog buttons or sticks to work without running SAAC. This is a free program which has been made to allow you to use a wide range of controllers with GTA-SA. You can download it here: http://toca.game-editing.net/index.php

However, this does not work with MTA-SA, probably due to the anti cheat software. This is a known issue which as far as I know has not been resolved. There are details about this problem in the above websites forum and also in the MTA wiki.

Hope this helps. :)

Playing mine with a spliced usb<->Xbox connector (Homemade) using joytokey to map buttons. Mapped mouse with right stick to move camera and set the rest of the buttons in the original game.... Ahhh you need XBCD drivers to run it. Very simple and no fuss!!
