  1. First of all sorry for bumping this old topic. Since MTA:SA has become open-sourced, I wonder if anybody has found out any workaround for the desync problem on task switch (Alt+TAB)? In my opinion this is one of the biggest cons with MTA:SA. Wouldn't it be anyhow possible to leave the game runnig when you tab out and that way get rid of the desync problems? At least some games support this, though they most likely have been coded in a completely different way and are nohow related to MTA:SA but just as an example, Microsoft Flight Simulator series have an option called "Pause on task switch", which can be disabled in the settings. Thank you in advance!
  2. There has been some discussion about releasing MTA:VC 0.5 source to public aswell, but as far as I know no decision has been made yet. There are some guys (e.g. Towncivilian) willing to work with an update for MTA:VC so hope the source gets published and MTA:VC development continues.

  4. I'm sure something like that could be arranged without bigger problems . To be honest, I haven't personally even had Vice City installed on my PC for some months now but this would be a good reason to re-install. Oh and just came into my mind. Have you had any chance to find any possible fix for the minimap blibs problem when using version 1.1 of Vice City?
  5. I think it was because of the flames that kept igniting the vehicles over and over again after the first blow up. However, I didn't see any flames but maybe they were somehow invisible? I noticed another weird bug on [EFO]MIB's car. His movement was a bit laggy eventhough his ping was OK and his vehicle kept constantly making a trace of these dropping parts.   9. I believe most of the RPG servers want to keep their scripts private and therefore the features may vary more or less, depending on the server.

  11. Do you think it would be possible to add the folding animation to the spike strips? In single player you can see cops laying the spike strips with an animation. Also the same animation could maybe used reversed, when removing the spike strips?
  12. The problem with the windowed mode (at least for me) is that the game doesn't run with as good FPS as it does in full screen mode. Yeah, and I feel sorry for the MTA community for having people like you who obviously don't want to get more people to play MTA:SA and make MTA more popular.
  13. At the moment, a white square appears to the player's nametag when his game is minimized in the windowed mode. I guess the same thing would work with Alt+Tab? The ability to Alt+Tab would really be a great feature, as I know a couple of players who won't play MTA because they cannot Alt+Tab. Also this is causing trouble to many admins, who need to monitor some other program than MTA (for example TeamSpeak).
  14. Of course the intro and logos in the beginning are nice, but they are not good when you need to get in game quickly. Could the MTA team maybe add some option to the settings, where you can switch on/off the intro stuff?
  15. Maybe just as many of the original game settings as possible? There are always users who need them. Also, I remember having some conflict with the key settings. I was trying to use the same key twice, but for different situations (on foot & in vehicle).

  18. Actually it wasn't me. It was Clooak, my "colleague" as we work with the script development of the same server. And Stevvo, I don't think it is possible because at the moment we have the light on/off switch set to "L" key, but it is not working while the engine is turned off.
  19. Hello, I have noticed that when you are using setVehicleEngineState to turn the vehicle engine off, it automatically turns the lights off aswell. Is there any way to turn off the engine, but still keep the vehicle lights on?
  20. Instead of using some special keys for refueling, why not make some special window for refueling? In the window you could see a progress bar for the refueling and also the price for the fuel you have refueled so far.

    Future of MTA:VC?

    Thanks for your response eAi. Hopefully you guys and the entire community will get more interest towards Vice City, like in the good old days . Just take your time to get into some good stage with MTA:SA first.
  24. lil Toady, may I ask if you figured out a way to show all of the ban information correctly in the ban list of next version of the admin panel? Until now, the admin panel only seems to save the IP or serial of the banned player to the ban list, but not for example the player name and other details...

    Sniper range

    Yeah, I noticed the same thing. Sometimes when you're trying to shoot a player far away, you can see him doing the "hit" animation, but in his screen nothing happens. I also noticed that the sniper won't cause damage until you see the player's nametag and health bar. It would definitely be good if the sniper range could be increased.
