  1. that's funny, I've played with a low ping and I see it shitloads.. then again, all I've seen from KFC (aside from a few individuals, Mex, Nika, etc) are a bunch of crouch glitchers in 0.4 including yourself, which means you're probaly use to the effect of it, however illegitimate it is. On top of that, I know the instant second shot still exists with breaking the animation and firing again, so don't give me the glitch free shit. The stubby is overpowered at the moment, with or without it's glitches. By fully "fixing"/nerfing it in the proper way (switch removed jump removed and crouch removed though not neccessarily halving damage) I believe the gun would be a lot more functional (functional as in not used by every god damn person as their only weapon) with it's usage in MTA; although this is an opinion and can be debated

This prevents you from switching weapons before the animation loop end, which is also set to 56. This is why switching before the stubby reloading animation played was impossible in 0.4.x. 0.5 weapon.mta: StubbyShotgun INSTANT_HIT 15.0 250 750 1 60 -1.0 -1.0 -1.0 -1.0 0.55 -0.02 0.13 buddy 14 50 15 14 56 15 11 279 -1 200 4 Now, look at value X. It's set to 11 instead, which is lower than value R, the loop animation start, set at 14. This makes it possible to switch before the shooting animation even plays. How do we fix this? Simply change 11 back to 56, like it was in 0.4.x. How it should be: StubbyShotgun INSTANT_HIT 15.0 250 750 1 60 -1.0 -1.0 -1.0 -1.0 0.55 -0.02 0.13 buddy 14 50 15 14 56 15 56 279 -1 200 4 This line would make it impossible to crouch while firing and jump or switch after firing. Don't believe me? Put that in your weapon.dat, start up SP, get a stubby, and test away. Sorry eAi, but whoever was in charge of editing the weapon stats didn't know what he was doing. I actually suggest perhaps adding 5 more to the time to switch (meaning that the animation should fully complete and then some) Reason: Unlike Nutz said, (which is full of shit, trying to blame the warping on someone with a 400 ping is ignorance) the warp will still occur (anyone want to look at the cop shotgun?) but only for a shorten period of time. (until the animation ends on the actor on your screen) Although the stubby downtime is still longer, the copshot is still highly effective with it's warp, though its aiming has some slight issues if I recall. A downtime of 5 should be more then enough to sync on someone who has the frame limiter capped. On top of that, crouching with all guns should be like the copshot. (I believe you simply can not crouch with the copshot, this should be the same with stubby) This leaves a few important glitches that still need to e fixed however.
  3. Hi all, I'm [4D]Prontera, I created the movie with the 30 second titles in a half hour. I'm not Steven Spielberg or Michael Moore, but I thought I'd let you know that the DVD of "Meet KFC" will be out with special features such as my own commentary on the footage and the DVD will contain other footage such as kooner's amazing ability to drop green instead of yellow as if though the stubby did less damage/he had armor in 0.3r2 (armor glitch didn't "exist" then). Thanks! ^-^ Seriously, the movies titles were made as a joke as you know, I had to have the movie look atleast a little fancy and all at Wheel: I don't like contending with those who require a glitch in order to kill anyone, efficiently or in r33dh4m's case, at all. Not to say that I don't contend of course, as people would know. =D at Kung: My 2 minute masterpiece will be on DVD as stated, you can download it free of charge, watch it, laugh, and ignore every point brought up by the movie and attempt to put your KFC propaganda all over it. thx =) As for Gary enlisting me, hah, I had the footage and thought you know, that might be helpful to those who were misunderstanding the topic at hand. Anyways, we've got lots of odd footage from KFC members, more doesn't hurt. at Junx: err, crouching is tough, so you must be skilled considering you need to do it all the time. at Ron: gg, excellent post.

This is a lot of footage cutdown and slowed down to let you visually see the walking+shooting that r33d is doing. As commented in the titles, I've only seen it from cheaters. It's a hell of a glitch that I'd like to see fixed if at all possible. Of course, r33d would have to share his amazing "technique" where he simply abuses every glitch he can find in MTA. I don't give two shits about your lousy technique as I have my own that doesn't involve me looking like I'm cheating. kthx.
  5. I have a bunch of fraps of r33dh4m walking and shooting like that btw, I thought it was kind of interesting. I tried to replicate that whole idea like it was just like the nade glitch. I failed in that attempt a few times. Maybe someone should inform me of this glitch so I can document it and not consider r33dh4m a cheater. I can't say I've ever seen anyone, not even Utopia who considers himself some sort of glitch god, do this kind of walking and shooting. The only people I have seen it from are obviously cheaters. kthx.

  7. what is and isn't considered a legitimate glitch is up to the community, the majority wins. The majority acclaims that jumping is far more legitimate then crouch glitching for the previously stated comparison. Jumping is not considered a major glitch at all due to it's unique synced movement (aka, you know the person has jumped) and the more proper animation break, crouching to have unlimited ammo and break the animation early allowing you to exploit the inability to be hit unless the person is good at lead shotting or you have no clue what you're doing is a major glitch. Gunny, as mentioned, you have no idea what you're talking about. BTW: I'm still aiming to not have the stubby in or to have any bugs that come with it fixed (I don't care if it's like the minigun, unable to jump or crouch while holding it)
  8. you think? fast jumping doesn't do shit, it still fully breaks the stubby anim and it's ended normally when the jump is finished, as for crouch glitching: Breaks anim right after shot doing the following: Causes MTA to "fall behind" due to actor/animation problems MTA "catches up" increasing actor speed to move back to current location (this is an exponential increase) Gives you an instant second shot if timed correctly Makes you extremely hard to hit because the client is behind Compared to "fast jumping" (Whatever the hell that is) Breaks anim and lets you resume movement after being in midair for 2 seconds Whooptido PS: Parad0x was crouch glitching too, nice job

  13. ..ok, let's just state two things: Thing A) Moderators are not pets that can be set loose on anyone they want. There's rules that have to be broken in order to warrant a ban which leads me to thing B: Thing B) Flare, maybe you don't pay attention to the rules, but they clearly dictate that you're NOT allowed to post in other gang's threads unless it falls under the stated exceptions.   14. Evading IP bans is stupidly easy for most people, and range banning on popular forums doesn't do much good.
  15. thats untrue for quite a lot of reasons. if the low pinger is unexpirienced he will probably wouldnt calculate the lag and shoot normally, but if that same player learned how the ping works, he can take out all of the laggers, and even the most expirienced player that is lagging, will have a big disadvantage over the low pinger. low ping sees high ping - moves, shoots, drives normally, but with a dilay. high ping sees low ping - same delay, but the low pinger is warping, and appearing in the wrong places. the bads overcome the goods. Depending on the ping of the HPB, the difference simply comes down to the skill of two players. Usually, the low ping is inexperienced shooting high pingers, so the lower skilled player loses. The pings make no difference in MTA (A high ping will become use to shooting a low pinger quicker then a high pinger due to the theoretical ideal of there being more low pingers then high pingers.) Other then the delay and misaimed shots (sometimes the shot is sent in a different direction then intended due to ping, in theory, anyways) This forces it down to both skill and luck. There is a point in which a player can learn or do no more then what he has done to take out another player. It comes down to the mechanics, and the mechanics are incomplete/not perfected at this point.

  18. After playing, learning about, and seeing the progression the team has made, there's a slight suprise of seeing just how many leaps and bounds this team has made. Going from the good ol alt-f12 method of last car sync all the way to having players running around each other like fucking magnets armed with the stubby shotgun to what's been promised on this page is such a large leap in third party multiplayer that it's unbelievable. This team has brought a game back from the hell of singeplayer games that should have been multiplayer. This team has successfully done what other teams have not done. In the respect of our "adventurers" so to speak, excellent job. I hope your efforts expand and encourage other teams for other games to create the same thing, make that hell never exist =O. Let the name ring! Mine as well make this of use, everyone should insert their "yay gg it looks awesome" stuff in here, so we don't have 50 bazillion topics ;P
  19. For the record, one of the 4D members face the same problem with MTA (Has happened since 0.3 (it's the radar bug that doesn't go away.) To this day, I have been unable to find any solution. Hopefully the devs may have something in mind. For the moment, a Windows reinstall could be in order, as that's the only theoretical fix we've come up with for the moment.

  21. There's an understanding that has to be made: There's more then 1 of these bots. There are several versions in which function differently. As I understand two of these bots atleast require someone PMing commands to the bots for it to do anything. This is easily noticable. The second thing is the following: One of these bots is extremely rudimentary and can only really be used as a joke. This bot can not aim at any player for it's life, can not use vehicles, and can only run around on foot. (Unless set on follow, which then it can get in as passenger in the vehicle your in, big whoop) The second of these bots is a lot more dangerous. This one, seen in use by a player who's name I for now will keep secret until a list of anyone using these bots is to be made, can be nearly invincable, use all vehicles, transport to any location, gun down anyone while in full sprint and multiple other things. While so far I've seen this bot controlled PM wise, I suspect other things will be coming that will be a lot less noticable. For the first one, I can't see why you'd get banned for cheating, as it's moreso a joke "onos, the bot's are chasing me, run fer your lives" while the second bot is an actually very dangerous foe. Outback has seen the rudimentary version first hand and it easy to detect.

I know, OT: You realize in the patch center theirs FTP downloads which go at 200kb/s and on top of that, their were patch bundles right up to the recent patches 197,198,199, and 200 (current patch level) That means their have only been 41 patches since NA release (Patching started on NA client at 160, which was bugged and simply needed to be redownloaded due to an error with the burning of discs) Over-exaggeration! (I had a capped Private Eye on Pluto and have a character on every server, will be capping a GenTank in the next week in place of my PE who I had for over a year ) On Topic now, the bandwidth bug is in need of fixing, more then you probaly realize 1. It was ages ago (I don't recall there being any bundles). 2. I only tried once. 3. I was making the point that there were a lot. The exact number didn't make any difference to what I was saying. 4. I said "about 80 patches", but did not state the margin of error, merely implying that it was there. So 40 could be acceptable If it were long ago, there would be even less patches (Long ago being there could've been 10, which there was a bundle for (I beleive bundles started at 6 patches in and now are enlarged, 4 bundles aren't mcuh to dl) Pity you only tried once, good game you're missing out on on There weren't a lot if you weren't such a lazy ass and actually took 5 seconds to look for things Half of something isn't exactly in the ball park (I have a 1000 dollars, oh wait, only 500, sorry)
