  1. No, a GeForce MX 440 sux. Get a Ti4200 or Ti4800 or something. Or an ATI 9500/9700
  2. A: Because it looks ridiculously awesome! Q: If those planes were also shooting, would it be better?
  3. 1 hr is long if it is right in your "posting time" of the day, hehe. OH well, if you got patience to wait for 0.3, u got patience for the forum too I reckon. So at least I'm ok with this issue. (and I'm sure many others too, hopefully everybody )
  4. Well I reckon I've got the shittiest video card. A Diamond Viper V770! (TNT2 - 32mb). Luckily because I have a P4-2ghz I can semi-sorta play GTA3 But, as soon as Vice City comes out I'll be upgrading, and Doom 3 will be out not long after that so... I need to get faster HDDs too, only 5400 rpm (one 40gb, one 10gb) Got 512MB ram tho
  5. * takes a bow * Why thank u for the compliment. I like coming up with ideas/half ideas, and commenting on others on possible improvements etc. At this rate MTA 0.4 will have LOTS of stuff in it (hopefully, hehe) You know, you could always add some form of adding your own game modes perhaps. Haven't thought this through yet, but I'm sure others could also think of ways this could be done.
  6. Yeah I noticed, heh. Thought I'd better check the GGM site before I opened my big mouth. Didn't realise that when I was at their site last time they had just restarted back up... So at that time the forum was dead as, but now seems to be alive again. Yet another forum for me to check on. That makes 4 in total now, lol. (2 GTA3 multiplayer, 2 other )
  7. That's why we're waiting for 0.3a! It has been said by IJsVogel that it might be out in as little as 2 weeks! Ofcourse, it can take longer/shorter, but as long as it'll be released eventually, heh. Btw, does ne1 know if GGM is actually still in the process of being improved upon?
  8. How about an option to make the normal cops smarter? So if they see you walking around with a gun in your hand, they chase you? (but no wanted star if possible). Another thing you could do is to every now & then put gang members with guns near a cop so the cop goes over & confiscates their gun (and then perhaps u can kill the copper to get that gun too, hehe). Also, if you kill a cop, a designated ped will "call in" to dob you in. If u can find the ped in time u don't get a star Just some bizarre, weird, but intriguing ideas from me, heh.
  9. That sounds pretty good. But how about having cops vs gangs, or gangs vs gangs. Since gangs are basically the crims in GTA3, & I never see cops arresting them for walking in the street with shotguns etc either so... Oooh, that gives me an idea...
  10. Yeah, that might be true. But unless we know what kind of limitations we're facing, we just have to use imagination as to what would suit this... Anyway, changing the "center of the body" should improve handling anyway, so then just a slight speed boost perhaps. Then again, even with better handling it's a significant improvement
  11. That sounds quite good. However, what if when the medic drives the ambulance, it gets faster & has better handling?
  12. A: Maybe Mr. Bill will If you've ever played one of the Final Fantasy series (on SNES, PC, PSX, or PS2) you'd probably know what a moogle is. It's a little white bear-type thing with a pompom attached to its head, that speaks like "kup kupo kupooo ku kup" Q: How much custom stuff have you put into GTA3? (eg highways, cars, weapons, etc)
  13. How about this: If it's a team game, all teams start out at certain "home bases" (not the standard GTA3 home bases though, although can be). These bases are picked out of a list of base locations (which must be reasonably large, around 64 of them or so, so there's a fair amount of randomness). If the other team figures out where the base is, the base can be "moved" somehow (?). Not sure whether it should take time to move the base, or if after discovery it gets moved automatically after say 10-20 minutes (so the enemy can't lock in the other teams forever). How's that?
  14. Amen to that! And I ain't even religious! I like pretty much any game, and if I hear of a new game, I must test it before judging too. It's a nice & fair way to treat the games I reckon
  15. A: ku ka kahoo ka ki!! Q: Is Mr. Bill a Moogle?
  16. Great stuff guys! Saw that the percentages on the progress has increased somewhat! Looking good! Only 72 out of 400% to go! Woohoo!
  17. How about whatever car the VIP chooses, it changes to the speed of the slowest car that the assassins have or something? or perhaps get an average speed so the slowest assassins can't catch, but the faster ones can? That'd make every1 use the fastest cars too, hehe And, how about whoever ends up killing the VIP gets to be the VIP? Or is that a bit too much? I do believe it's better if there's some randomization in it, so assassins can't CHOOSE to become VIP. And I also think that either the teams are of equal size so that sides can easily swap, or some code to determine as to who is bodyguards, VIP & assassins. And this code should reverse every 2nd time, so the "best" player will most definitely switch sides every time the VIP gets killed Or at least, most of the time, heh.
  18. Ok, this idea sounds like something damn good as long as you have a few players Here's what I think. VIP : Weak (just 100 health), can't pick up armor, but gets Uzi (unl. bullets) & 2 grenades (for emergencies ). Bodyguards: 100 health & 100 armor, unlimited uzi, 5xassassin shotgun, 1xassassin grenades, 1xassassin sniper Assassins: 100 health 20 -> 50 armor, unlimited uzi/shotgun/machine gun, 1xbodyguard rockets, 2xbodyguard grenades, 1xbodyguard molotov, 5xbodyguard sniper Now, I like the idea of bodyguards respawning after a certain amount of time after death. And I like the "briefcase" idea too. Slower cars, yes, but not 1/4, that's too slow. Perhaps 5/8 or 3/4 or so, however all cars must be the same speed on all computers (ie. synced car speeds). Once the VIP has been assassinated, the briefcase drops and is relocated randomly around the current island, with some sort of vague indication of its whereabouts (section names, or something like that). Whoever gets the briefcase becomes VIP, and perhaps some sort of record as to activities will decide on who becomes assassins & bodyguards (eg worked out depending on shots fired, kills, distance travelled, closest gotten to previous VIP, whatever may be used for this). I think that's about all I can think of, but I do believe the VIP needs more ability than just running around & hiding. I like the costume change idea too, but make it allowed every 5-10 minutes, and when changed the VIP & bodyguards will be hidden unless an assassin can see the change. Once changed, the VIP along with bodyguards will become visible again if: a) A period of time has elapsed (say, 1 minute) OR b) An assassin stays within a certain radius of the VIP for more than say 10 seconds. Not sure about my costume change idea though, might make it too easy to travel from one place to another. Perhaps change time limits etc depending on how many people started in the game or something. Perhaps just have it so they're hidden for 10-30 seconds or something. Anyway, that's the idea converted into my head & configured the way I see it
  19. I reckon, instead of a "dot", some sort of hot/cold gauge on-screen if possible. Therefore not giving a definite position of the player And, how about if you kill the person you get a point, however if that person kills you, but wasn't supposed to because you weren't their "target", it gives them two points for killing the "assassin". And, if the assassin dies, the target gets a point for surviving Another idea is to have a car hunt, basically like car-tag or something. Where it shows a gauge as to how close the chasing party is, and well, basically the same scoring system I reckon. However, only 1 person is "it"
  20. Cool, sweet, kick-ass, awesome, incredible, WOW! Once 0.3 gets released that stupid GoE's GGM is going BYE-BYE! Hehehe You guys are unbelievable u know that? Incredible effort, seriously! And, you guys are Dutch, right? Or is my mind playing tricks on me & mixing my memories from some other forum?
  21. I support MTA, because it looks alive on the web. I use GGM, because it's better at the moment. I reckon GGM will die because of lack of word-spreading... I think MTA is going to RULE, and perhaps my friend might be interested to help one day, not sure though (he programs professionally for at least 3 years running now )
  22. Damn that \|4/| etc stuff is a pain to read! And I bet it takes longer to type too! lol I don't mind abbrevs, like c u l8r, etc, they're nice n easy! But seriously, ezer? That just looks wrong!
  23. Yes I have that GoE mod, and it does lag, and I play over LAN. I do think it is better than gta3mta at the moment, however there does not seem to be any continuation of it, and the forum there is dead as a doornail. If you know it is in fact still under construction/improvements being made, then PM me with details so I can see for myself. Oh, and if it is in fact still being improved upon, gta3mta better get a move on! Hehehe. I love when there's competition, more chance of stuff coming out quicker I reckon. You guys are doing a great job though. I know I wouldn't have a chance in hell to make something anywhere near this cool
  24. I just wanna be able to get guns etc, be able to get out of cars & shoot the opposition! That'll keep me amused for weeks! Hehe. But seriously, it'd be totally awesome if somehow u could make multi-player missions. Like say, 1 side has to demolish the other side's hideouts/drug stands etc, and so does the other, but in totally different ways. Like, with different weapons/cars/planes/etc... Neway, just sayin my little bit!
