  1. Holy crap, I hope I'm not too late! FKU would like to join and claim turf #59 if it's available, which it looks like on the maps. Also, I joined the MTAleague forums, still waiting on my email, hint hint.
  2. The modder just joined my server. Abcdefghijkl IP address - 172.199.175.131
  3. To my understanding, there's quite a few people that play on dialup, and do it quite well. So get MTA, install and enjoy.
  4. People will still view a timeline estimate as a definate timeline, no matter how it's phrased.
  5. Most gangs usually make: 1. A thread here under the gangs section 2. A website with member list, gang rules, links and downloads pages 3. Gang forum Once you make a gang thread here, it's pretty much official. Good luck!
  6. I've RPed back when I started playing MTA, was kinda cool, didn't have scripts or anything. Downside is how it's admined, kick/banhappy admins will gauranteed make your server empty (I spawned as a robber once, cop shot me, I killed him, he said I was a cop and a traitor, pfft, banned).
  7. The aim's been improved since the last version, but there are still some syncing issues, such as if a person happens to take a swing with a melee weapon, move a step closer and start swinging again, you'll see them next to you though they'll be a step or two away, think the same applies to weapons with longer stance setups, like the M60. This can also come from someone using a weaker or stronger PC, graphic lag doesn't decrease your ping but it has the same effect.
  8. Right on dood. Hope to see you around. Just don't get too close to me, I have trust issues when I'm carrying a shotgun.
  9. Cheating or non-cheating mods still make the game unstable and cause crashes for everyone on the server, which will in turn just make your entire team look bad. Don't lose hope though, this'd be do-able with MTA Blue's release it seems.
  10. Got a really strange one for ya folks, and sicne there's no GTA3:MTA cheat thread... abcdefghijkl was on the Partyserver GTA3 last night, and well... LOOK! I don't wanna say this guy is definately cheating as his ping is pretty high, but the erratic behaviour and everything, just damn... Can anyone verify this as a cheat? (never seen car jetpacking before ) *"and today" edit* Look what else I just caught, same place, same guy. abcdefghijkl: can i hack? abcdefghijkl: i can hack but i dont abcdefghijkl: it mess up my comp abcdefghijkl: is there an admin in here? Dr.Angus: YOU ARE UNDER ARIST abcdefghijkl: nope abcdefghijkl: qwoww abcdefghijkl: cool Voivod-SM- died. (Vehicle) abcdefghijkl: ok you to vs me i can hack? abcdefghijkl: but no life and armor hacks ok abcdefghijkl: ??
  11. BIRFA was on the UA server today speedhacking and jetpacking. Bonehead me forgot to start FRAPS but I caught this with printscreen, after which he immediately fell to his death.
  12. How'd I see it stated before? Oh yes! Laugh, owned, ignored. Now, to keep this from being purely a spam/flaming post... It's not a bad idea, but who wants to play a online game with a couple of bots? If they were implemented into something specific, I.E. as in a CTF format they were made to stand guard at a base, though I still think that'd be kinda wasteful. Maybe if there were a way to auto-balance the amount of bots, much like in Postal 2:STP, where you set a max number of players, say 10, for a DM server, then set a max of 5 bots which'd start playing as someone signed in the server. If the server hit 6 people, one bot would leave either after it was killed by a player or another bot, or the first-spawned bot could auto-/kill and quit game. Might help fill up some of the empty servers around.
  13. Sure there's less lame things to discuss, but seeing as this forums for a game mod, who'd want to talk about life here?
  14. I've never seen anyone warp using the jump, and I use it with any weapon, however this said glitch may be lag related to the jump. I've noticed a few times a player with shoot midair, or from their feet as they land, it quite often gets me by surprise, and I'm just guessing it has to do with a few millisecond lag.
  15. Just thought I'd throw in another suggestion, though it's pretty brutal; why not allow shots to connect with knocked-down players? You can already kill them with molotovs, grenades and melee weapons, and since there's rarely hope that you'll get up and walk away after a stubby knockdown, why not just put them out of their misery right away? Granted, this'll make the game that much harder, but I see more balance coming out of it. More of a secondary suggestion, cuz I'd frankly rather see knockdowns removed completely, I think MTA could survive without that bit of realism.
  16. I used to have the Daschund anti-crash, got rid of it after I saw no difference without it. Thanks for the reply Posty, but I think maybe my PC's not strong enough to put up with the extra work GTA3:MTA puts out, GTA# alone tends to run slow or choppy. Just have to get a personal server back up for it I suppose.
  17. Was with GTA3, but the last few times, GTA3's just starting to lock up, no unhandled errors or anything, just complete freeze. Lot more aggravating than the errors.
  18. Well thanks for answering like I haven't been playing this for the last 5 friggin' months. I was asking if anyone has suggestions to decrease the amount of crashes as I don't hear much griping about GTA3:MTA crashing on Partyserver, just the occasional person here and there.
  19. Uh, no, that happens in VC the odd time as a robber/mex/SS, but not enough to gripe about, I mean I could be playing for 15 minutes just collecting weapons/driving/watching others and then crash as soon as I start fighting or a car or two explode nearby.
  20. I'm just wondering, is there a way to crash less frequently? I tend to crash when I play for say, 10 minutes then get into a firefight or have more than one car explode. The only time I never had a problem with crashing is when I ran a personal server. I turned off both my frame sync and frame limiter and it helped a bit, played about 20 minutes with no problems, then finally crashed in a shootout. If anyone could give me some ideas (options to set/unset, processes to kill) that'd rock.

    I need a gang

First off, welcome to the community. Second, there are many nuances to MTA that you'll learn over time, such as lag/desync (because sometimes it looks like someone may be cheating when their not), aiming techniques (the aim's vastly improved since 0.3 but there are still times when it's off), vehicle kills (both car and heli), weapon techniques, general survival, all the good stuff. So take some time to learn MTA, play in the public servers, keep a good attitude and one day some'll pick you up. Good luck.
  22. It's a change of pace if you know where everything is in VC. Weapons lying here and there, some only accessible by dodo. Not to mention carkillers are rampant, that's always fun to deal with.
  23. Just booted someone by the name of J-man from our server, speedhacking and jetpacking.
  24. I find carkillers not only suck at gunfighting, but often at judging the width of their vehicle. I find if you find a narrow stairway to stand in, they'll attempt to ram you and just damage their car, and give you enough time to finish it with a shotgun shell, leaving you the chance to gun them down with any other gun, just gotta conserve the ammo for them. I wish I could say this was successful when I tried it, but as I was shooting the escapee, I um... got ran over from behind.
  25. I think it's a shame this got a bad rap because of the people using it, if it were released to the trusted MTA vets it probably could've had a lot of practical uses, such as private training (1 on 1 or clan), or the invincble taxi idea b0b0 had. But as it was said, it got into the wrong hands and proved to be a nuisance to a lot. What surprises me is it looks like it was abused people I thought better of.
