  1. SA:MP vs MTA

Almost 8 months, and now you work on on foot sync. At least your getting it done. Finally its something I like. We did get rather annoyed at this post, though not too bad. In theory we could say "Over 8 months on SA-MP and still no release. what a joke" or something.

You must have mistaken that for a sarcastic post. You forgot to mention that I liked the on foot sync getting done.

I do have to agree, all the races did suck, and were based on too much turning. Such a harsh comment isnt required. Lots of the QA team put lots of effort into maps, only to be put down. This would be different if he at least expressed as an opinion. However, njr did express it as an opinion in other posts so not so bad

All a matter of opinion of course.

Good luck, since there is no unhackable software. In reference to the Anti-cheat info - This really is negative, sarcastic and unfair.

Not sarcastic. I use sarcasm with a :\ or a . I don't like cheaters ruining my game, but we have to live with it.

Adding streets and ramps through the game with wierd camera angles is the feature? I already pictured it would be like this. If its "The Feature", im not impressed.

BTW this isn't a flame post. He says its not a flame post. Whether it is or not...it still is an annoying post since the Map editor is a massive feature (imo) of MTASA.

Before that I never saw the end of the video with the ability to add a few good things, and seriously IMO those camera angles/controls suck, thats all I want fixed for it.

I notice a mistake in what sarcasm is on my posts , but I can understand.

  2. I didn't really see the point of this interview, since it had news we already know. Its good enough for people who are behind the news I guess.

Yes, I was very disappointed by the "exclusive screenshots" that had already been on the blog.

If that was sarcasm, you're pretty bad at it. :P

The screenshots were originally part of another update, its the same screenshots, still don't see a good point for people who already know about it.

  3. No respawning kills the whole moment of the game. I do have to agree, all the races did suck, and were based on too much turning. What I find ironic on this race mod is that the non race maps are the only fun ones.

How many races of the 70 in the release package have you tried? There are races of every variety, some with more turns than others. Just because not all of the races are drag races as you would prefer, doesn't mean they suck. If you have tried all 70 races (and I'm sure you have, otherwise you wouldn't be able to make that claim) you would see that there really is every type of race you can make, from straight drag races to races with lot's of turns.

And respawning may be important but definately doesn't 'kill the whole moment of the game.' That is just rediculous, lol. It would be useful for free roam maps, but how many other online racing games are there where you can respawn after getting knocked out of a race?

I've played around 50-70, and the only ones I like are the non race maps like destruction derby, and break. I did play a few custom made maps, and found them to be a lot better than what MTA: SA came with, but thats just my opinion.

BTW MC3 lets you respawn after you wrecked your car, but that's not the point.

Lol, course ya have. I guess that is just your opinion, but it is pretty irrational since again, there are races of virtually every variety in the mod, you would think that at least a couple of them would appeal to you unless you don't like races period.

So you know, I like races with some good turns curves, not sharp turns over 90 degrees.

Racing isn't all about turning IMO, there is a lot more to it. You can have some sharp turns, just don't make that part of every turn.

  5. Hopefully nothing like the posts before me don't happen again, but there is another update, so lets move on.

    http://www.gtasanandreas.net/news/index.php

We last reported on this project at the start of the year, and today - after testing SA-MP for a second time - I'm delighted to announce that there have been many advances in it's development since.

    * Firstly, the number of bugs/crashes have been greatly reduced, and the sync is noticably smoother. This afternoon I had two crashes - both of which were caused by Fraps and not the modification itself.

    * When entering a vehicle, you can now determine whether you wish to enter as the driver or as a passenger. Entering as a passenger can be done using G, whereas previously you had no option if there was already a driver inside the vehicle.

    * New game modes have been implemented, some of which enable you to team-up with other users.

    * "Las Vegas Deathmatch" (LVDM) is - believe it or not - a basic deathmatch. You spawn on the escalator at the hotel based on Bally's. The objective is simply to spawn and kill your opponents.

    * The second mode we tried is called "Cops N' Gangs", where you have a choice of playing as either a cop, or a member of the Grove Street gang. There is a drug van parked in Glen Park, and the gang's objective is to get it [safely] back to Grove Street whereas the cops must try and prevent this.

New modes are currently being developed.

More detailed updates can be found on the team's blog, where all of their progress will be recorded over the coming months.

In addition to some screenshots taken from this afternoon's test, I've recorded a short video lasting approximately 4 minutes which shows off some of the most recent developments:

My favorite picture is this one :P

    EDIT: MORE VC-MP NEWS.

    http://www.gtamultiplayer.com/vc-mp/

For those of you who didnt know, FalconGT has joined the team to continue the development on VC-MP, welcome!

As for the development, many new things have been sorted, such as:

    *Shotgun falldown bug fixed

    *Fixed Server crash on kick

*Added pickups that are able to be defined through the INI

    *Synced pickups

    *Stats system (/stats)

*Login system with admin control commands (/register [password], /login [password])

*Ability to make admins (/makeadmin [server password] [playerid] [level])

A lot of RCON commands have been added, such as sethp, setloc, setmoney, gethp, getloc, getmoney, setcontrol, getcarhp, setcarhp, setcarlock, getcarlock, and many more.

    Check back later for updates!

All they need is a server browser, and carjacking, then it will be the shit once again. Even if SA is out now, at least there will be something to play on VC while we wait for SA-MP.

  6. Gamespot knows a lot more than MTA, some of them just don't make it to that page.

gamespot knows more than MTA? huh? what? If you mean what i think you mean, then i think the MTA team know more than gamespot do about MTA

What? I meant to say Gamespot knows a lot more mods than just MTA, some just don't make it to that page that MTA did. They actually have unions that post GTA news, so it ended up there. Basically its certain news from GTA fansites.

  7. No respawning kills the whole moment of the game. I do have to agree, all the races did suck, and were based on too much turning. What I find ironic on this race mod is that the non race maps are the only fun ones.

so are you saying races are only good when they follow really long straight roads? Rockstar's own farewell my love and wu zi mu are very much based on turning - so i dont know where you get your opinion from.

As for respawning, i think it is a good idea. By simply adding a respawn option lots could be unlocked for players to do.

Just so you know, I never liked those races either. I do like turns, just not way too many of them,

  8. No respawning kills the whole moment of the game. I do have to agree, all the races did suck, and were based on too much turning. What I find ironic on this race mod is that the non race maps are the only fun ones.

    8 months???

I remember reading a year ago about how the blue core had been in developement for 11 months already? Sure, the SA part was done in 8, but the main blue core its'self has been in development for ages now Question Have I missed something here?

That was the Blue core on VC they've been working on for a long time. They quit that once san andreas was out for PC in june. It will soon be vaporware if another GTA comes out on the PC.

  9. I don't see why making a race mod makes them inferior coders. People were complaining about the time it took to create a race mod - it would have taken even longer to create DM. That's why they made it.

P.S. Why are you hiding behind an alias?

Basically what nojoke means it didn't live up to the hype, after all these months of making it look good in previews, and everyone saying its so great.
