They should connect the progess bar directly to their work that way we get exact percentages to the tenth (78.5% for example) as they do it and it updates instantly! w00t. Just kidding. I wonder what 100% means? 100% of what? 100% of being done with the next version? That doesn't really tell us much. The goal of 0.4 could be "to add in a red banshee at the robber spawn." Well, that 100% would take about five minutes. I'm just curious as to who sets the goals around the MTA place. After all, in some people's eyes 80% COULD be 100%, depending on how much they want to accomplish. Surely, 100% doesn't mean "100% Completely Done".

It's only cheating if the guy in the heli goes "HAHAHAHA" or "LMAO" or "HA HA", or something along those lines. That's just plain annoying, and it always pisses me off. I don't find anything funny about that, unless of course the kill itself was funny... But if I ever kill anyone with my blades, I usually refrain from saying anything...

Well, the 5900's and 5950's are good, but I'd recommend a 9800 XT or Pro. Technically it's all the same, but from my experiences, ATI is a little more reliable than FX. I'd say it's almost a 50/50 though, so it's not much of a difference. 5950 and 9800 XT is the best you can buy, whichever one you get is your choice; but I'd go with the 9800 XT. And if you just want a card for your PC, a 5950 is a little overkill. A 9700 ATI or a 5600 FX would be good, also keep in mind your RAM and CPU speed; video card isn't everything. Personally I have a 5600 Ultra and a 1.8 GHZ, I play at 1024 x 768 with 8X AF and 2X AA in MTA, and I get 40+ frame rates. In single player, with those settings, over 60. In single player, 8X AA and 8X AF at 1024 x 768, I get 40+.

GtaT never works and whenever you install it, it always replaces at least 50 Vice City files (including Main.scm) It's a big waste of time. According to the install it makes a backup folder, which it doesn't.

Just so you know, in order to use ASE as long as you want, just put in a random serial code... I believe that worked for me. Or if you want, I can give you one I got from someone. it says "That key is in use", but oddly the trial never ends.

To fix that "Locate your GTA directory" problem, I believe you have to edit your mta.ini and copy and paste the: [game-vc] location=D:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto Vice City\gta-vc.exe paste another right under that so it says: [game-exe] location=D:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto Vice City\gta-vc.exe Not sure if he's having that problem, but when I first started I got the mta_dll.dll thing too and this fixed it all.

I don't think there's an overpopulation of cheaters out there. I'd say 1 out of 20. Maybe you just have the problem every other new player has. "CHEATER! CHEATER!" 5 minutes later "CHEATER!" But that's profiling; and that's bad. Anyway, if there's a cheater just go on IRC and tell somebody...

Here's the steps: 1) You need two people (cooperative people, you have to work together). 2) You need a PCJ 3) One player get on the PCJ then PAUSE the game and STAY PAUSED 4) The second player get on the PCJ as a passenger 5) After you're on the bike (AS PASSENGER), get off. 6) Now, use your SPRINT key to accelerate the bike, and LEFT/RIGHT to stear the bike. As long as the PAUSED PLAYER STAYS PAUSED it will work fine.

I wouldn't say they're corrupt, but whenever an admin is around I would advise you to "watch your tongue", so to speak. Also, they like to play under different aliases, so you might want to always be careful of what you do or say. Just remember, the admins don't have to go by the black and white laws on the server. Just because it's not on the MOTD, doesn't mean you can do it... For example, I hear the cuss filter doesn't ban the "F" word if you have "-ing" on the end, but the admins will still kick you. If you kill an admin, don't say "PWNED!" and don't ever accuse anyone of cheating. If you think they're cheating, don't say anything, but take it to the IRC channel. You stand less of a chance of being kicked doing that, rather than just complaining about it in-game. Just remember the Golden Rule: You can get banned/kicked for insulting an admin, even though you're not cheating or breaking any rule. But remember, admins are like police, they're there to help you. But if you do something wrong, they will bust your ass! (I don't want to sound like I'm criticizing anybody here, admins or regular players, but it's true.)

By the way, the "laugh" thing is probably the best thing to say when you're killed or when you kill someone. If you think about it, it could be an EXCUSE, an INSULT to their kill, or just plain HUMOROUS. Same goes when you kill someone. So it's all how others interpret it.. Wow, Doon is good for something...

I just tried the demo. Not bad, graphically. The controls are really delayed. It won't compete with GTA at all.
