  1. i'd still want to know the actual amount of kills alongside the money tho.

    Well it's definitely a good idea to keep both in there. It just seems more... Grand Theft Auto-like to show the amount of money, rather than just frags.

    Although it'd still have to show the amount of frags just to keep the multiplayer spirit alive.

    And with that, I report the entire [KKK] clan cheaters. They had a huge cheat-trading ring going on a few nights ago and they constantly come in the servers with speedhacks/invulnerability.

    I'll elaborate some more.

    Whenever you hit F11, instead of showing the number of Frags under the score, it shows an amount of money.

    Also, certain gun kills will reward you with more money than others.

    Whereas car or heli kills reward you with a minimal amount, Stubby's more money, M60's more money, and maybe even the Colt or Python give the most since they're the hardest to kill with.

    Even if the money is useless, it just makes the scoring more... Accurate. For instance, the guy owning all with a Colt or Stubby should technically have more score than a guy slicing people up with a helicopter. As it stands now, a kill is a kill, rendering the scoring system a little unbalanced, depending on how you want to look at it.

  4. Just change the car ID in the handling.cfg to IS_HELI.. Voi la, a hover car.

    I was watching some GTA 3 MTA videos yesterday and I noticed there were peds. Walking peds, and even ped cars.

    Well why did they work in GTA3 (it was a really old version of GTA3:MTA) and not in VC?...

  5. Car shaking? What? Oh you mean that thing everyone stops noticing after a week of playing MTA?

    But yeah, any bugs or errors whatsoever that you see in MTA at first, give it some time. Soon, hitboxes, car lag, teleporting, people sliding on the ground after you've 'knocked them down'... You won't notice any of it.

  6. I'm going to bed, but first, I'll just point out that there was a gigantic cheat/hack trading ring in the 10-player for about two hours... Anyone with the tag [KKK] is cheating (invulerable, speed hacks) and some of the [KKK] joined tonight JUST to get the hacks (They gave their emails, said thanks, and then they used the same hacks as above).

  7. Official servers. We've been getting plagued by overly-enthusiatic cheaters for the past few weeks. By "overly-enthusiastic" I mean allout speed hacks, health hacks, invulnerable cars, unlimited ammo, ALL in ONE PERSON.

    And everytime they come at least 1, usually clan members two or more, and we always go and beg on the IRC server for an admin; and there's never an admin.

    People said "Report cheaters through the appropriate methods." Well, no one is on IRC, then what? We post a message here? And wait 3 days for them to get banned, AFTER they've left?

    And the bad part is that admins can't begin to understand what it's lile; everytime you play and there's a cheater, BAM, he gets banned instantly because you're there.

    This goes on for hours at a time and there's no admins around. I realize there are plenty of admins, but having a million admins that never log on wouldn't serve any purpose then.

    I'm not trying to harp on anybody here (Well, I am harping on cheaters of course), but it gets annoying when the cheaters, over time, get so accustomed to their cheating that they OPENLY ADMIT it. They rub it in our faces ("oooh ban me ban me") and everytime they come back, they use more and more cheats, and more obviously.

    The servers (or atleast the 10-player) have been overrun with lawlessness, cheaters running around everywhere (not the least bit exaggeration.)

    This is more of a plea than a critique; and on behalf of everyone on the server, I can sum it all up with one word: Help! or Please!

    I'm probably going to get flamed with procedures and "levels of hieracy" and certain steps to follow, but frankly, I and no one else care about steps and procedures; we want the cheaters kicked.

  8. Out of curiosity, are there any plans to combine GTA 3 and Vice City? Seems like that's the way you fellows are heading, and I recall hearing something about it in the past, too.

    Everytime I read these threads and people talk about how much they can't wait for the next version, I feel like I'm (and every other MTA player) mooching off the MTA team.

    Oh well, thanks guys, and keep that progress bar moving!! Hopefully until your entire "to-do" list is at 100%. w00t w00t.

  9. You can definitely make it go faster, I remember doing it back in June.

    Try editing the Max Velocity or Acceleration and it MAY be at the bottom under "Planes" with the Helicopters.

    (It's not rocket science, it's all pretty simple...)

    1024x768x32 on a PIII 800 with only 256mb of ram

    lol... 4X AA and 16X AF at 1024x768x32 on an 800 mHZ with 256 MB of Ram with a 9600?

    I have a 5600-Ultra (Equivalent of a 9600/Pro), 1.4 GHZ, and 1 gig of RAM and with those settings MTA isn't even close to being "smooth". Vice City single player, yes, always above 50. Multi Theft Auto is a different story. If no one is in the server, yes, above 60. If it has up to around 10 people, it's anywhere from 40 to 50 or 60. Anything above 10 (Around 20 people), it hits about the 30's and 40's.

    You have a bad sense of 'smooth'.
