This is the "Skin Bug" in MTA. It's looking to be fixed in future versions, but for now I'd just kill everyone you see, especially those darn mexicans, well fake mexicans. =P

ermm..for people like me who own a shitty integrated card, follow these for best performance (and my performance it still shitty ) 1) Set in-game resolution to 640 x 480 x 16 2) Turn on the frame Limiter 3) (Only on GTA3) Turn off Frame Sync 4) Lower the draw distance to 3 or 4 notches, do what you can live with. 5) Close any unnescerry [cant spell] Programs/Processes that are running. Don't shut down explorer because some one told me that it manages your memory usage or something similar.. That should about do it..if you have a shitty card like me, and I usually get 22 or lower fps, heh. But once I turned off the frame limiter and got 40 fps once and a while, nice looking, but it slowed down the game a LOT when i was moving fast..

I was just wondering, are you going to have this MTA install like the current MTA:VC installs? I mean so that it doesn't edit any of the original GTA3 files? Because thats why I don't have 0.3b anymore, because I couldn't play single player without a crash, due to the modified files. Please tell me that it's seperate

^^ditto, but I gotta find out where I put my copy. EDIT: found it, it was in the bottom of my drawer lost in the papers. Got it installed and works fine.

most cases have thingys to lock your case shut and no one can get inside without the key. And you can lock your case to your monitor, which would make it difficult to steal, especially by only one person.

Well..I was talking about the mouse moving slowly ONLY in menus, and disabling clicks in menus. The speed in-game is fine..I guess it is just a computer performance thing and I need to kill some more processes (like Explorer..who needs that while playing VC? =P) But, now I have a new problem.. During MTA VC crashes with out any crash dialogue or anything, it just closes. then MTACLIENT.exe hogs up a HUGE 530MB of my page file (only after VC crashes in this manner)..which causes windows to increase the size because the normal size is near 400MB..

I recently got a Kensington Optical Elite mouse for my computer. It's great, and it comes with the Kensington mouseworks software to handle the extra buttons and make gestures and such. Ever since I got this mouse, I've noticed it's slowed down VC and MTA:VC a lot, well at least the cursor moves slowly in the menus, cant click on the menus, and in game it sort of lowers the framerate. Could this be an incompatibility with the mouseworks software or something?

sounds interesting, but i suggest that if this feature is implemented, the server should have the ability to turn it off, because then there might be a bomb in every car and people will be dieing left and right. perhaps this a game mode or part of one

I suppose, but I would think GTA:VC wouldn't allow it to be stretched to widescreen. I mean I've played on a dual monitor system and it only used monitor #1.

thats kinda the wrong ratio. Your screen is stretched horizontally, no?

maybe he thought that windows 2000 meant Windows Millinium [cant spell] Edition. Since that is accociated [cant spell..] with the year 2000. They should of called windows ME "Windows 98 Build -9384". Makes sense and doesn't confuse people (Oh, and I was a little kid when Windows ME was out, so I saw the boxes at staples and thought it was a windows version make for making a non-windows PC a windows PC. like a phrase, "Windows me!". Yeah...at the time I was running windows 95, and I might of had my Mac w/OS 8.5)

I'm beginning to think that this guy just took his PC and stuck it in an empty Xbox case and hooked it into his TV using a tv-out cable and called that an xbox.

yes, that is getting annoying. Perhaps have MTA start at a random time each launch so you get different music? That seems to be a good solution to me.
