Regardless of which you pick, I'd like to thank everyone on the MTA team and everyone that has tested and aided to the development of it. Personally, I believe that it should be a server option between the two. I know it will take lots of work and probably wouldn't happen but think of how many people will be able to have a server dedicated for it. Smaller servers could handle option 1 while massive, souped up ones could handle option 2. While a server running Opt. 1 could pick the island of their choice for a smaller arena, a server running 2 could have a massive arena where the chaos knows no limits, personally I will vote #2 I would love to travel anywhere, and to have car chases and other things we love in VC to be in the massive liberty city with no limits, in addition it would be simply understated to say that its surreal. All of the developers certainly deserve a spot on GTA's official team at least in my book.

Depends, good thing about DSL you're pretty much guaranteed a certain speed, but its considerably lower than cable, yet cable, your guaranteed a connection....speed on the other hand, can be spastic. I pick cable though.

The whole password thing is directly related to name stealing, its offering up ways to prevent name stealing. I think if any of the weapons, except illegal ones, should be toned down, it should be the spas. Yes I know that, thats how its in the game and it shouldn't be changed, or stop whining because they left it in and it kills. I think the rate of fire should be slowed down a bit, either that, or increase the speed of people getting up from getting knocked down. Someone who gets knocked down, can watch helplessly as their enemy calmly walks up to them and gets in position while you slowly crawl up and then stand, *BOOM* your dead. I think if anything knocked down players should be granted Sanctuary for like 3 seconds after they get up, to at least make a run for it...

Well the first tribes used a logon also. It was less used though. You'd put your name and your pass in the 'other' category and the server took that, and added your name and pass to their server user list.

Well hopefully if they put that in, they will put in a loop in their code to go through and check their ping, so as if their ping is over a certain amount for an amount of time(lets say 1 min.) then they will be kicked. At the midpoint(for the example of 1 min.; 30 sec.) they will be warned, either in the chatbox or like a motd kind of thing. In addition I would like to see a ping indicator somewhere on the hud. ping <200=green 200 < 400 yellow and anything higher red, whichever that amount, decided by the server is what it checks for warn, kick, etc. But thats just my suggestion, and please, do this while you make the game server side!!

I'd be a hypocrite if i told ppl not do something, while i did it myself. id be a hypocrite if i said smoking is bad, while lighting a cigar. I am not as bad as the inital cheater, as i have done no cheating, and am therefore not a hypocrite. i killed a man, and took his gun. that is not cheating. i said it before, when the gun is on the board, it is immediately available to all players on the map, and therefore, fair play. As the gun is now available, fairly, to all players present at the time, its aquisition or method therof is not in question; it was there and i took it, through perfectly fair play. summary: I killed him and got his gun. thats not cheating. you show me where in the documentation that currently comes with mta, that says i cant use the minigun, or any weapons pertaining to the situations i listed above, and i will stop immediatley. it doesnt say jack shit about it. and if they really dont approve of it, the simplest solution is to remove them (useless and unauthorized weapons) from the main.scm, since they have to be loaded before they can be used. and of course, since these guns dont work and arent allowed, there's no loss to us anyway... No, they dont suck. neither do i. i dont always start playing on a crowded-ass server, but its not like i can keep other ppl off (starting my own is a last resort kinda thing), i play, more ppl join, the numbers naturally get higher, and shit happens. Try killing someone with the sniper rifle with the packet loss, lag, people sucking, [insert excuse here] problems? The minigun comes with a rediculous amount of ammo as it is, even if it hacked. At 2-3 shots your dead, so that could take a fraction of a second to be killed by it, with those problems above, it doesn't matter, sweep the gun from side to side on the person, eventually one of those hundreds of bullets will hit and kill. Not too fun if you ask me. I was just driving along once going to pick up someone, another player whipped out the minigun and shot my car, blew me up, killed me outta nowhere. Didn't even know what hit me. Sound fair? Didn't think so.

Would it be possible to have traffic in future versions, make it a server option? And if the current amount of traffic is too much, could you tone it down or have just cops only?
