You know what? I should make a Vice City cleaner, that will check your Vice City install and get rid of any unneeded files... it'd of course allow a couple of MTA-compatible no-cd cracks to work, but other than that, would kill any files not required for MTA/Vice City... That would help a lot of these posts, now wouldn't it?

Sounds like a very open and plausible idea to me. However, there are some drawbacks - those "kid n00b skr1pt0r" servers that about half of them are (and theres no denying it... MTA attracts that crowd whether they want it or not, not necessarily bad... just not my type of people) who would end up making the most whacked servers out there. The easy solution is of course not to play there but as it is, I can jump in any server and like what I am doing. I really do like this idea, and it'd be nice if it was implemented in some form somehow. As for configuration, would it be something within the server that requires commands, or something external such as text file and/or config utility that may require server restart before taking affect? I prefer the latter, might be easier to implement... but this is thinking ahead, we haven't seen too much diverse configuration setups yet, there are none

Becasue it is stripped down, it doesn't have useless junk to stop you. Besides, its based off of the XP core - so why would problems "just come out of nowhere" if they dont on XP? That makes no sense. Your title says "Developer" - you should know enough about how computers work to know your statement is 100% false. What is Windows 2000? A workstation OS. What about 2000 Advanced Server? A server OS. So, even though they're based on the same core, you'd expect 2000 Advanced Server to be less compatible with a given application just becuase of its title and extras bundled with it?

Wouldn't it be more technically accurate to say operating systems based on the NT core, rather than just Windows 2000 and Windows XP? I do not know about NT4 compatibility, but I am pretty sure it'd run fine on Windows Server 2003 and perhaps even the Longhorn releases... maybe I will give it a try on those, I would expect it to work.

That isn't quite true: it is just using the Microsoft JPEG encoder, which, understandably but not acceptably, is full of bloat. It looks like high compression, but it saves plenty of that lossed data into the file. I can save a JPEG that looks much better in say, the GIMP and it'll be of a smaller filesize.

I can host this stuff for you if you want... ...But it'd be nice with an English conversion Email or PM me...

Keep in mind, though, that stunting is often just that - stunting. I have joined many a stunt server and every single one was either people doing their own thing without competition, or grouping together to experiment - with minimal, but excusable competition. Not only should crypto for filecheking change to something stronger - but there should be a server option to bypass crc checks on that server, perhaps in only Stunt mode. But by that time, if one is competent enough, the executable'll be cracked to disable crc/hash checks anyway...

The first time ever I played this happened... all my graphics were screwed, too - almost nothing was being drawn apart from the police station. I had to use the minimap to navigate... I could see other people, and dont remember if I had weapons or not. I still dont know if they could see me, I think they could. Restarted, spawned with skin... felt weird, almost like it wasn't supposed to happen like that
