Okay, so before I go any further you’ve probably previously seems posts related to this, where someone wants to learn how to code, and seeks advise, you give them that advice but you await there return to help them further and then later on you get the impression that they’ve given up, like most people do nowadays, however I haven’t came here to tread in an area that’s worn, but I’ll skip to the catch.
Introduction & Why I’m here: My names Lewis, I am 15 years old and when I am older I aim to do something computer related, I was first thinking about opening my own PC repairs store, as since I was 12 years old I really got into computers and began to understand them, I know a PC inside out and know how everything works, but just as real life and learning a new language it’s never easy, but I wasn’t ever hear to learn how to speak Spanish, I’ve always wanted to know how to create games and in the six weeks I also hope to create my first game, even if that is a small indie game, or an 8-bit, it’s a start and begins your path to great success, for as long as you keep your mind to it, dedication is what gets you there, however I have been with MTA since the start of 2013 I believe, something like that. (Before you check my profile, I never even thought of creating a forums account, I’d simply just download and play.) And to be honest, to most people I’d still probably count as a new player considering how many years MTA:SA has actually been around, makes me wish I was around for Valhalla. . .
But as I’ve gotten a chance to delve into some of the MTA Servers in some of my spare time, mostly Roleplay servers, as I love to roleplay, every time it makes me wish as if I had the power to create some of the most wonderful MTA scripts, and rather make my own MTA server or partner up and help develop small ones in order to become big ones, or to join with a server such as Owlgaming, as I couldn’t be more aware that has the biggest player base for an English roleplay server, ever, and I don’t count myself as one of them scripting wannabes, who most of the time just want to learn but can’t be bothered, I’m different in that sense, as I’ve always wanted to be able to do that, however I just haven’t known where to look, and considering I want to be able to script for MTA, what better place to come but the MTA Forums? I’m aware that MTA use LUA, but LUA gets updated a lot and I’m not sure weathers MTA is compatible with the latest or if they just stick to one version, which is why I’m kind of hoping a MTA Developer sees this and is able to point me in the right direction, because being able to code MTA has been a prolonged dream of mine, and with the six weeks approaching, I feel that it is a good time to raise this topic, because then by being pointed in the right direction, I feel it will benefit me a lot and I can sit down and study LUA inside out.
But I haven’t a clue, it isn’t that I don’t know where to start, it’s just that I don’t know where would be a good place to learn, I don’t expect a developer to help me from scratch how to code, however I couldn’t be thankful enough if that were to happen, but incase I go off and start studying something that isn’t related to MTA, I wanted to check with some of the more experienced developers first, if you get what I mean, I’d appreciate any replys I receive in return to this thread, and if a developer were able to point me in the right direction, or even personally help me out, I’d be the happiest man on earth.
Please do not post unhelpful, or critising posts, you simply won’t be acknowledged.
Thank you in advance
