  1. Windows 98 is good, but unfortunately not compatible with MTA, maybe in the future. Linux is even better than all Windows versions, but isnt compatible with MTA either, maybe somewhere in the future. Windows 2003 seems to be even more stable and faster with games. Dont forget that XP still haves those BSOD's
  2. It doesnt always have to be the Celeron, i've had problems with sound (try disabling it) before. But since i have a P4 2,8ghz (Celeron 1,7ghz before, big difference between the speeds though) VC seems to run faster. Or just try to upgrade your drivers or use beta (e.g. omega) drivers for your videocard, and defragment your disk once in a while.

    What we do

Heh. Anyway, mind that 0.4.x is based on the 0.3 core.
  4. A post in that topic with summary, objectives, etc. would be better yes
  5. We'd like to inform you about Jordan Liles' new article about 'car kills' in MTA, named The Car Kill, which can be found at PlanetGrandTheftAuto.com

    Network Status

Thank you for posting his personal information on a public forum Kryptos. All of the information has been removed, as this is isn't meant for the public. Next time contact one of the MTA Team members personally, and do not post this kind of information (or links to this information) on our forums again.
  7. How funny, you didn't agree to the terms of the EULA. It forbids you from reverse engineering, disassembling and thus viewing the MTA binaries, and that's what you did.
  8. Remember they still have this contract with Sony which kinda forbids them to make a multiplayer mode if it doesn't work on the PlayStation 2 (which it doesn't). Anyways, if it would.. it would be a pain in the ass to port it to the PC, im sure.
  9. In general. Just pointing out that the US is a -ed country in that way.
  10. Weird, I play alot of CS and actually I've never seen any bad form of racism on the servers I've played on. Though I never play on US servers.. usually European ones (and my own LAME-CS server). I guess this racism is (still) a US thing, which is bad.. but sticking with MTA == good
  11. No multiplayer, and release probably late 2004, early 2005.
  12. Alot.. thought it was using an average upload of 450-550kb/s with 16 players.
  13. The difference between Windows 2k/XP/2k3+ and Windows 98 are the way things are processed and the calls being available.. in Windows 98 MTA just doesn't work like it should.. so you should really consider installing Windows XP, or even better: Windows 2003 Server. [offtopic]That's what i use, i modified it to work as 2003 Workstation rather than 2003 Server.[/offtopic]
  14. There's a -bit- of a difference between the XBox Windows version and the PC version, i dont even know if there are (enough) API calls and such to use.. i don't think so.
  15. February, 2003 - it was real crappy when i first played it - amazing though..
  16. It is possible.. Wartech once made a php-mtaserver, but it's way outdated and unsupported at the moment. Anyways, to run a 'real' server you'll need SSH (shell) access to your linux box and the rights to open ports.. so if this is your isp's webhost, no go.
  17. Yes it is.. except for that useless spamming in the story.. so i cleaned it up a bit. Hold tight, the story continues.......
  18. Me neither, actually. I dont think the Macintosh is an attractive platform for games. It's more for design and stuff like that, i guess.
  19. Argh.. no file linking here, go find your own. Topic closed
  20. That's possible. Best thing is probably just to wait for the new core, since vehicle stuff is way more improved than in the core we're using atm.
  21. Are there even GTA ports for the Mac platform? If so, show me
  22. Looks like you're trying to play an old version of MTA.. just use the latest version, cause in 0.3r2 it shouldnt complain about duplicated IPs anymore.

    I CANT TALK!!!

Could be caused by something odd like a wrong specified game version in MTA.. but a high-ping and packet loss is most likely the cause. Try to join servers that have a low ping for you (as close as possible to you).. so there's less packet loss. If it still happends then, it might be because of a firewall or it's just your internet service provider.
  24. Could be anything.. from a wrong server IP/host to DNS problems at your internet service provider. Try to use ip addresses instead of domains and hosts, and make sure there's actually a server running on that ip/port.
