well what i mean by going back to gta3 is that im gonna go back to modding it intensively, ive got plans for a total conversion single player mod
and the other thing is, theres a new gta3 mp mod in development, which will hopefully revive the online community a little, although itll take a bit of effort to get everyones attention so they play it

thats one quick rundown of 5-6 years
how my career started:
on irc IJs said "we need new moderators" me and Rawk replied first and got a job as B moderators, from there on i earned trust and things started to develop
how it ended:
realised that my qa activity has gone down the drain and that im not interested in sa anymore (was i ever?) so im going back to gta3.
doesnt mean im leaving everything though, im just not involved in development anymore.. so basically retired

i thought id never see any of the old peeps again, but somehow everyone still manages to find this thread and drop a line, nowadays people come and go but it seems every now and then a few return to see whats up which shows how engaged the community was back then
Hey Rival, I'm trying to find a VC download aswell. I've went to a bunch of stores and could never find it to buy it. Right now I'm trying to my GTA3 to work again. I really miss those times, 0.3r2. I remember the first time I wanted to join KFC was when you and Villain were by the dock and we were fighting and one of you recommended for me to join. I went to Jupiter and he tested me out in the most retarded ways... asking me to roll the golf car on it's roof and some other stupid stuff... then I went and fought Kung and he told me to go to Gunny and Gunny tested me out and I was in. It was like in summer of 2004 or something way back. SA-MP may have a crapload of people playing it, but it will never be the same as MTA: VC.good to see ya Shark, funny recruitment story right there, jupiter must have enjoyed his position
theres good news for everyone whos missing the gta3 mp days, VRocker is making a new mod, the homepage is http://liberty-unleashed.co.uk
it should have top notch synch and LUA scripting, we are hanging out in #gta-lu
i hope i can revive DK when the mods released, only a few members are still around though so i guess id have to recruit some new players, i cant wait to have some 5on5 wars again

20 Years of the Multi Theft Auto Project

wow 20 years and still going, thats insane, congratulations to everyone that contributed to, and played MTA!
from when i joined, up to when i left for australia, this project has been my beautiful prison of self isolation for drug induced psychosis.
i hated my real life job back then, it was mind numbing and lonely, this was my second job that i loved for the creativity, the company and the energy, everyone was in it for the same goal and for no compensation.
Thanks for all the trust that has been given to me and all the great times.
my favourite memory is release days, just watiching IRC go ape:~, unable to keep up with reading etc, then helping people out with problems and recieving all their overwhelmingly positive feedback.
it has been a great journey and one that could not be replicated to this day for me personally, i keep looking back with a smile. i did not get into any IT related job but im very happy to read about so many oldies having their careers kinda kickstarted trough MTA!
As Ransom said, kinda difficult to watch Rockstar copying everything we did 1:1 (even all my personal 3d models) but today i see it as a tribute to our creativity and skill, tbh i still think they could use a bunch of help for their multiplayer.
MAD_BOY: DK won turf wars, that was also an official tournament in my book!
