  1. Count me in for a *Yes*. I've seen and had enough of it in vc.
  2. ahh... yes those sarcastic remarks. Well I put my tools to work (i'm a genius) and acquired Vice City. It runs good, just new features like you mentioned. Either way, I'll play both games on mta.
  3. Both features? Then I am guilty. Xerox work your locking powers
  4. Can you be a little more specific?
  5. I had a minor question and perhaps a suggestion I suppose about the upcoming release of 3.5. Ofcourse, I'm speaking about GTA3 so don't confuse my post with VC related issues. - My question/suggestion would be, have the programmers ever thought about including a visual ingame feaure that lets other players know who you are? Meaning, once you enter the game, your nickname would pop up in the top left hand corner of the game screen notifying other players who you are. This would also enable users to acquire the knowledge that a new person joined the game. I think it would be a nice and useful feature... this way there wouldn't so much confusion as to how many players are in the game and it would be nice to know who's playing while you're driving around instead of having to resort to alt + tab to view the console of players. - My next suggestion/idea would be, you guys suppose you could implement an easier way to communicate with others? Such as perhaps pressing a chosen key on the keyboard to active the chat function? Some may want to communicate while in the game in order to decide on a place to race or ask where the other player is currently at. ( i know, that's what the map is for) But in this form, people could ask specific people where they're at, not just take a guess by going to every player listed on the map screen. It would be an excellent addition to the game instead of having to alt + tab again to pause your game and look @ what others are saying/asking. - Just a thought, probably won't be applied but I think it would be a neat feature. If you've covered a similar concept on another post, disregard this post.
  6. In regards to your first post, I have no problem with you being a dial up player. I'll take anyone! as long as they're not n00bs to mta and know how to function the software properly. I just want to gather a good crowd who wants to play on the servers with at least 6-7 others. (This is a tough feat, I know).

    IP Servers

yes, I'm lost But that's ok. Listen, the easiest way to find dedicated GTA3 gamers is via mirc. Just download it at http://www.mirc.com (or get your own script). Login to the mta server and register and officially chat channel such as #gta3 - Have the people who play gta3 on a regular basis come to the channel and idle there. Then just settle on someone to host with broadband (such as myself) for a game. Or you can always use the servers available at ASE. We could just post them on the topic area of the channel if some of you don't have ASE. - Xerox was one of the people who I met on mirc last night who is willing to play some gta3 sometime. So mirc meeting and registering a chan might not be a bad idea. - The downside to this would be the fact that most gta3 users on ASE are n00bs to this all. So I don't expect them to find their way into mirc since it's 'technical' to some.
  8. <- lost. I'm going to assume the giving a lift deal is going to be featured in the next release of MTA VC but not the upcoming release of Gta3? or will it be applied to both games?
  9. Aggressor, I play gta3 mta very often on the servers featured in ASE. If you see the name sh@d0w on a server, feel free to join. I'll give you a good round w/out disconnecting like some newb mta users that are new to it.

Download ASE (All Seeing Eye) software. You can also access MTA's irc server and join the channel #mta-servers for a list of automated up and running servers. - The ASE downloadable site is located at http://www.udpsoft.com/eye
  11. LoL. Don't mind the green blue arrows on the roof. Those aren't active players. The only dots you need to worry about on the map are those which move around. Sometimes people will lag out so beware of that as well.
  12. Which is why I'm trying to gather loyal gta3 peeps who would like to play via MTA. Ofcourse you'd have to know how to run the damn application, like I said, most people have a hard time. It becomes real fun with at least 6 people on the server who play for racing, stunts, and the car chases. A little bumping into each others cars is ok as well. Although most of the time, they get out of the car and i end up fraggin' them doing a drive-by. I can't wait for the newest release of MTA for GTA3. - GTA3 isn't completely dead. If you'd like to contact me, we can start rounding up people who would like to play on a dedicated server. - ASE .. bleh it seems lame for the lack of servers but I guess like some people on the forums said, it's due to the lack of stability of the early developments of the multiplayer mod. Give it time. As far as paying.. heh what's that? I've payed 0 for all my shareware including my game
  13. Some of you have probably already seen this short film. I'll post the link anyhow. It's a parody of some sort to the actual Matrix movie. This film is titled, 'The GatesTrix'. Has to do with Bill Gates and his new creations of 'windoze infinity' etc etc.. it all ties in to the matrix. Funny stuff, worth a look if you're a high speed broadband user. Linkage = http://www.ifilm.com/?sctn=main&pg=shortfilms[/url]
  14. Yes, you all don't know me and so forth. BUT I have been keeping up with forums ever since I discovered MTA. Read High's posts etc etc. Yes, it seems as if he takes the game too seriously, yes he's profane and so on. But how can you hate the guy? heh, if it wasn't for him, some of you couldn't sit back and laugh at the comical relief he provides with his seriousness for each post. - On the other hand peeps, just remember that it's a game and for some people, competitive spirit thrives within each and everyone of us. - My 2 cents? DrHigh is 14 and just learned the word 'fucking' and 'cock'. Maybe with his young age, he thinks this is real. So let him. - My penny for your thoughts - reply
  15. I know I'm new to the forums and I shouldn't bitch about the lack of players on the servers offered in ASE etc etc.. but it kind of sucks. I've discovered MTA about 3 days ago and since then have enjoyed this creation. My question is, why does it take people FOURTY YEARS or so to figure out how to work MTA to play online while it took me an hour? - Half the time we get 4 people in a server featured in ASE, 3 of those people will leave (the lovely quit message floods the server screen). Why? n00bs give up and exit without giving someone else a chance to explain to them how to get the game going. - I've heard the rants that the reason for the lack of servers and players is due to the instability of the latest release (although I like it). Even still, is there ANY server not made public on ASE where more than 5-10 peeps play without disconnecting? By this ofcourse I'm implying advanced users of MTA who know how to operate the prog. I've stopped by #mta-servers a few times but the only GTA3 server listed is the one I see on ASE all the time. Unfortunately, it's empty half the time.
