Hmm, I'd rather forget about one simple CRC check, I have a better idea that should be possible.. made a thread for it (ranting about cheaters etc.etc) So I don't know what optioon to choose there MY way, everyone should have the same stuff no matter, even if you don't change handling.cfg back to the original, as it would download of the server, the servers preference of handling.cfg

range bans just suck... it takes one jerk using the same isp server or isp or region as cool guys and all the cool guys are banned I wonder if there is such a thing a MAC banning...
-
might cause more input lag bydoing that
-
seriously I never found much else wrong with the mod except the lag issue and crashes in spectator But I can live without specatator for now
-
yeah I know thats what I meant, really Just thought it would be futile to post any more specs of ppl having the problem sine its already been rectified, but what the hey
-
I take it this program just bypasses exceptions and keeps programs running in a possibly inconsistant state? Imaging running this on an airplane
-
I think its fixed anyway, (by looking at the first post)...

more animation
see people on bikes, thats one
make some sort of game mode to make everyone join in, as it gets very quiet a lot.
you can see people on bikes
hmm. thats a weird one, I can't which is strange, but its a bit weird sometimes, bikes looking as though the drive on their own lol. Dunno what would cause it?

You've already bought the controller right? (Logitech Dual Action?)
I'm using a real ps2 game pad with adapter and I'm simply using the windows drivers for a "4 axis 16 button gamepad" you get this with windows Xp.
If you are looking for drivers didn't you get any with it?
If you are looking for a real PS2 to PC adapter (you need a real PS2 dualshock controller of course), try here : http://www.ztnetstore.com/product_info. ... ucts_id=40
or always check out lik-sang! although you need to order from hong-kong adding extra tax/cash for delivery etc etc. (http://www.lik-sang.com)
oh yaeh, you need to set controls to "Classic Controls" instead of standard for PS2 like controls as said above

There is a problem here with me as it seems my IP is banned from IRC permanantly.. I never even been to the channel for at least a few months and I can't even play MTA anyway since I still have win 98 I tried to visit IRC around the time the web server was having problems (usually when I just go on to ask if my ISP is acting up again as it can't display the mta site sometimes...). What can I do here?
-
There has been no date published so no-one know when it will be made.
It looks like it will be made soon since it says 90 % ay ? Production may speed or slow down, we can't predit the future
-
ppl having crap pings don't affect other peoples pings, period. Tbh I don't know why you think it would?

Tried and get a developer that has win 98 to try and compile it and see if it shows any errors? I'm sure there's another way of doing the winsock thing on win98 which was also implemented into win XP, perhaps your using win XP only functions or something, If you catch my drift.. I dunno
[EDIT]
Perhaps using such win XP winsock functions explained below:
Winsock
Although Winsock (Windows Sockets) didn't undergo any significant change with the release of Windows 2000, Windows XP introduces a handful of new APIs. For example, getaddrinfo and getnameinfo provide enhanced host name-to-address translations, making gethostbyname and gethostbyaddr obsolete.
The most interesting of the new APIs, ConnectEx, DisconnectEx, and TransmitPackets, provide a benefit for high-performance network servers. ConnectEx enables an application to establish a connection on a socket and optionally send an initial message, and DisconnectEx both disconnects a socket and prepares it for reuse. Both of these calls execute multiple operations in a single system call. TransmitPackets is an extension of the Winsock TransmitFile function that existed before Windows XP. Like TransmitFile, applications use TransmitPackets to send file data directly from the file system cache over the network, thus avoiding memory copy operations. Unlike TransmitFile, TransmitPackets can send any number of buffers in a single invocation, and each can either be a memory buffer or a portion of a file, which makes TransmitPackets much more flexible and gives it scatter/gather characteristics.
The Microsoft Winsock-extensions DLL, \Windows\System32\Mswsock.dll, exposes the new performance-related APIs while the rest are in the Winsock 2 DLL, \Windows\System32\Ws2_32.dll. The Winsock helper driver, \Windows\System32\Drivers\Afd.sys, implements support for the new APIs in kernel-mode. All of the APIs are documented in the latest releases of the Platform SDK.
Another network-related Windows XP feature is that the TCP/IP stack supports IPv6 (in addition to IPv4), making Windows XP ready for changes as the Internet moves from 4-byte to 6-byte addresses. In fact, besides providing an improved translation interface, part of the purpose of the new getaddrinfo is to provide IPv6 support, since the legacy gethostbyname function doesn't support IPv6 addresses.
If Dev's are using TransmitPackets() you can check for OS compatibility issues/differences.
If I were in the Dev's position I wouldn't give up searching for a solution if it means contacting Microsoft Cos there are a lot of whining ppl like me

Tbh If I ever get XP I'd rather get a new HDD bigger than my current one, and faster, for another £80, so that's £200 altogether... and a clean install, no win98 upgrade, because I've had trouble with upgrade OS's before...
-
thing is, it's a £120 or more dent on my account to buy win XP. and re-install everything, get drivers for all your hardware in XP, start all over again, back up all your stuff... just to play mta, i don't think it's worth the hassle.
-
What if 32 players are all in cars playing music in the cars... nearby everyone else... sound overload!
-
sometime i was thinking of too, and some game that have vehicles online have this ability too, so I guess why shouldn't mta have it

smooth as a babys butt

The game should synchronize the clock with everyone, because this way ppl could somehow have the game in daylight, (by not dying for ages.. not to mention crashing or timing out ) anyway ppl could be in daylight and others in night time which would be a bit weird and obviously because it is brighter for the ppl in daylight it will be easier to see everthing.

I would think this would be good if you had to stop the robbery and go after the robbers if they getaway before going somewhere... And also bust some robbers somehow if you are the cops, and robbers could try to chase you before you take them to the station etcetc.. lots of cool stuff to be thought of
