  1. Thanks for sharing, these are the posts that keep us going.
  2. Very well done Jordan! Congrats.
  3. This thread will stay for historical reasons, as what was said was true at the time. I have no idea other than talk that anything has changed, and therefore this thread stays.
  4. Yeah, ok ... unfortunately we weren't able to modify the weapon.dat file as easily as some of the other files (like the scm), so we had to put in some hacks to get things to work properly. You are hitting a snag, obviously. What happens, is when you click start game, it attempts to move your weapon.dat file to weapon.original, and copy your weapon.mta file to weapon.dat. If any of this fails, you get the errors you are seeing. Once you disconnect / close client, it attempts to reset this. Possible solutions: - Make sure weapon.original does not exist once the Client / Game is no longer running (before you open up anything). If it does exist, make sure weapon.dat is the original file that came with the game (you may have to copy weapon.original to weapon.dat), and that only weapon.dat and weapon.mta exist. - Make sure read-only access it removed from weapon.dat. If it is on, potentially the Client will not be able to move it, therefore failing the process of renaming / moving / deleting the files. If it still continues, I have no idea at this point. Try different things! P.S. I renamed this thread so it is a little more apparent to others who will inevitably have this problem.
  5. His theory works more in a large level in games that support widespread servers (truly massively multiplayer). Theoretically anything is possible, given the right amount of time and money. So, who wants to start paying me to work full-time on this?
  6. And you posting this here because .... ? We really should have a dedicate forum just for this, because it is really starting to flood the other forums.
  7. This will not happen soon unfortunately. Things were a little more complicated on the IRC Server, which I have no idea when / if they will be resolved.

For now, yes ... until we figure out what to do with it.

The site is finally back up! We’ve finally got the site and forums back up and running. Huge thanks to Wojjie for the support over the last few days, and for getting us this new server. Some people (not you if you’re seeing this) may not be able to view the site while the DNS propagates to your DNS server. Our IRC Server has been moved to #multitheftauto on GameSurge. You must register and authenticate an account before you can access the channel, so please /authserv help or navigate to the GameSurge Account Registration page. Good luck, and hang in there!
  11. Now on GameSurge, irc.gamesurge.net #multitheftauto
  12. Why oh why do people bother.
  13. NO If it was ... where are we using it? Wouldn't that be a logical question to ask yourself before making a false accusation against us in public, rather than in private where this should have been dealt with. Obviously, I am not necessarily refering to you eeos, but both of you / anyone else reading this.
  14. No, that is a breach of our license agreement.
  15. Good luck reading it ..., and I imagine someone like IJs or Blokker should be able to answer that type of question. Or, live by the motto, if you have to ask about doing something, maybe you shouldn't be doing it.
  16. F12 uses Bitmap's ... We do not use JPEG code anywhere, but thanks for the concern.
  17. It is built-in to the PC version, done by the developers.
  18. It's not realistic, as many points above have stated, but damn it would be neat. Too bad we are stuck in our own little world here, since what we are doing is uncharted territory.
  19. And I thought the argument was done, geez. Oh well, I guess we all have the right to a PERSONAL opinion, and people should not take it out on the project, like some people have recently.
  20. Your reply was taken out of context, and I made an appropriate reply explaining that (I will not post it here, but you can find it in their Forum in the Website related area). It was not meant to start an argument nor put down your project, purely bringing an interesting fact to light. I am not sure what two movies you are talking about (as everything works fine here), so if you could elaborate on the broken links we would be more than happy to look into a fix. Oh, and btw, /me cries over criticism. Grow up, and stop venting. Good luck with the project VMP.
