  4. what about the spike strip could it be implemented as a gun ? for a game type cops and robbers ? one team could have them and try to stop the robbers ... it would be great:)

    Vice City Glitches

    here i was minding my own business and i see a flying jeep ... http://mega.ist.utl.pt/~mfmn/gta3/fly.jpg and it kept going onward in the air .... suddenly it fell (i heard a crashing sound) and started going in the pavement like nothing happened ... weird hein ?!

Well i would like to take the oportunity than to thank the MTA team (all of you) for all your hard and great work. you are making us a dream ... it really is ... a nearly perfect game like GTA3 (VC or not) going multiplayer... what could we ask for more ? reading this : sure made me happy as i'm one of the ppl that rather wait for the good stuff, than to have something rushed that takes away a little of the thrill i have when i open this forum (several times a day, i have to confess ) thanks again and keep posting ... i'll keep reading !

  12. isn't it possible to have a buffer of chats like buffer.chat[0->x] when displayed the 1st (0) moving the remaining to the top ? extra memory or auxiliary file ? at least we would see all the chats for an y amount of time ... of course if there were many it wouldn't be real time ... but at least you could see them all ...

I don't know if the MTA developers and beta-testers tried GTAT 0.2 yet ... but ... i just played GTAT and obviously its time for a comparisson i played with a friend on my server (home cable 16KB upload) and it has that southpark movement we saw on our (MTA-VC's) movie, but it's allied with some sort of lag , so i don't know if it's lag or the "southpark movement", does the current internal build have this ? this allied with some weird other player driving visuals(bike appearing and disapearing and appearing inches ahead etc) make it kind of hard to enjoy the multiplayer option ... i do hope that MTA is better than this ... at least a fluid driving ? cause if no ... take your time to make it so ... i'll try it (GTAT) again on another server ... but this is my initial opinion ... we can learn from what we can see on the current GTAT and improve on MTA-VC... another thing ... please block the movement keys when chating cause it's so anoying in GTAT when you're typing and your character jumps or exits/enters a vehicle ... and sometimes because of this the caracters don't appear ... ah on the chatting subject, is there a way to see at least 3 chats cause if you chat right after somebody chats you can't see it ... well these are GTAT's issues , and i just didn't want to see them on MTA...

  15. Mta so far is just for GTA3, but a vice city version is currently in development ... There will be a beta version available briefly (maybe in 3 weeks ? speculation ...)
  16. If they released it this week ... there would be ppl saying things like : wtf what's with this southpark movement shiat ? what's with this lag ? wtf mta crashed after x !!! wtf mta crashed after y!!! wtf mta bla bla bla ... let them make a decent version ! then it will be out ...
  17. for a two player game : Ok ... synching the police and army etc ... could prove very expensive bandwidth wise, but what if i play with a single friend ... maybe that woudn't be a too big a price to pay would it ? so ... if it would prove viable, could there be an option to enable the law inforcement ? i mean i'm asking this ... but i don't really know what kind of development there has been this subject-wise... but if it could be implemented ... there would be two options ... everybody would be a fugitive from the police ... or the player that kills would ... this would only work if there was a way to get a wanted level ... i mean ... without traffic, or ai players walking(driving ) around, how does one get a big wanted level cause if u kill 1, 2 ... 3 human players eventually you will get put down ... so the wanted level will return to 0 ... oh well i bet there is somebody around here that could give a good opinion for a 2 player game with ai...

Hey Cray thanks for those details ! but you talked about the 2 players not being able to ride the same car ... does this mean doors locked(hope not), of simply that if you try to enter, you will drag the other player out (hope so) ? edit : how about a faq section somewhere in the page/forum ? just about the new releases ? so this way we could center the questions on one topic, and probably get faster/easier acess to other ppl interesting questions and their answers ?

If you have to expend time doing this, i would rather have u expend time with the animated walking but if it's an easy to implement feature ...why not ... don't think i'll use it though ... however ... that coupled with a limited lifes gametype could prove to be a usefull solution for all of the dead players while the living ones ... live on ... maybe you could even spectate in a fly like appearence that the living players could see ... all this lockable server settings of course

"MTA:VC is making nice progress, check out the new movies! -=- Inclusion of animated walking in MTA:VC 0.1 is unsure" i really enjoyed watching the new movie ... and i was left with the feeling that it was entering a state of coolness and really wanting to play it ! but ... i'd rather wait for a lauch with animated walking ... of course that if you launch it without, i'll play it anyway but this is my opinion ... we are so close ... don't blow it on rushing ...
  25. i just downloaded the new movie and can't see anything ... i donloaded twice and nothing ... well i can see till : GTA: Vice City Multiplayer and nothing more ... it just stays like that with the music playing ... tried many diferent players and nothing ... when i run DivFix it finds a lot of errors, but i still can't see anything usefull ... anybody has this problem ? EDIT : SELF REPLY .... : Downloaded Divx Player 2.1 and managed to see ... weird that i can't still see with other players ... must be a codec issue ... oh man it rocks so much !!!! and by the looks of it it's nearly done ... only missing walking animations that i managed to see ...well don't know about gametypes either ... and the movie it's not lagged BTW what kind of internet connections where you using to make the movie ? is it possible to get the same performance on those less fortunate cables (like mine) caped to 16KB upload ? what about the 56K modems ?
