    Water detection

Right now there's no "out of the box" event for that, but I requested it a while ago, a patch was just submitted the other day. In the meantime, you'll need to use https://wiki.multitheftauto.com/wiki/Tes ... ainstWater for detection.
  2. Yeah, I can only just run SA with graphics at low, and even then, it struggles whenever there's smoke on-screen. How is that even possible, the game is 8 years old?
  3. Even if WEI was a half-passable measure of performance (it's not, for the record), it'd have nothing to do with this. It happens while downloading, meaning that it's most likely a network issue. Wanting to help is good, but if you have no idea what you're talking about, you should make that clear right at the outset. Updates and WEI are almost definitely completely irrelevant here. Also OP; bear in mind that it might take more than one day to get a reply - please don't double post, it won't help anyone. Do you experience any other problems with your internet connection? Slow transfers, high pings, instability?
  4. I read it all, for all the sense that made, but the plain fact of the matter is that these crashes are almost impossible to debug unless people start reporting them properly - needle in a haystack. Again: dumps. Reproduction methods. Just knowing there are crashes isn't that helpful. If you know what makes them happen and certain extra information (the kind given in dumps, for example), you'll be a lot closer to solving the underlying problem. You don't just make programs "crash resistant", that's not how it works. When you have accurate and concrete information regarding crashes, report it on http://bugs.mtasa.com/ - finding the reason for a crash isn't always easy, but supplying the dump is an absolute minimum. By the way, the crashes might not just be MTA related - ask your players if they experience crashes in single-player.

    Strange View

I'm not completely sure, but it might be some kind of issue with your graphics card and/or drivers. Try downgrading if you recently upgraded, upgrading if you didn't do anything. Do you get weird artifacts in other games? Are they there all the time? How are your temperatures?
  6. If making programs resistent to crashes were easy, don't you imagine crashes would be more or less extinct? In order to fix crashes, MTA devs need a dump and if possible, a way to reproduce them.
  7. It's possible to edit your post - would you mind doing that instead of double posting?
  8. Thanks for posting the solution. Way too many people forget that part.
  9. That should be possible, yes. Mind posting your acl?
  10. Fixed the format.. i dont want to bindkey ... and why u telling to me no one will write for you? maybe some body can do that , it is too easy , but i cant remember cuz i left the scripting from many months... i added the window with visible ... i just want when i press the button it show me that window just the code. He's telling you that nobody wants to write your script for you, because nobody wants to write your script for you. It's a matter of 2 function calls, it's not a major chore, but nobody wants to write anything for people who are too lazy to do this kind of extremely basic scripting for themselves.
  11. he also asked "HOW" Callum , well, Depends which type of database you want to link your 2 servers to. SQL --Local Database or MySQL --Online Database The local database you're thinking about is SQLite. SQL is the name of the "language". And MySQL can just as easily be local.
  12. It's the exact same thing - listen for the event, act on it. Also, this is a scripting issue, so I'm moving it.
  13. Servers are definitely not free. If you know any hosters, you might be able to ask them for a VPS or something in exchange for an advert on your server. That's what I did when starting my TF2 server. Also, this isn't really a scripting issue.
  14. If you want it that bad, maybe you should make it, seeing as nobody else seems to. Alt-tabbing out of a game is not a major chore, and at least Steam, for one, has an in-game overlay that you might be able to use in MTA. It works in single-player, at least.
  15. Spamming is already easy. It's not hard to detect by script and deal with accordingly.
  16. You can already search for players in the server browser. For all the other stuff, there are already plenty of ways to chat. Steam, WLM, Skype, you name it.

    hey guys

Wtf does this have to do with MTA?
  18. So, getPlayerAccount returns false. What does that tell you? Have you tried using one of the function handler arguments instead?
  19. He must be talking about that Toreno guy from single-player
  20. But that's clunky and not entirely appealing. Besides, prefixing every last message with "say" or "teamsay" is going to be a huge pain in the ass.
  21. I think PhatLooser managed to summarize it pretty well.
  22. Well, finding out what does it and... stopping it... will be a good start.
  23. OH REALLY? Sorry, but... come on, I think he might have known that.

    I'm a tease.

Just a few glimpses of what I've been working on for a few days... The project is still in a very early stage - anything you see is subject to change.
