I find that by clicking right click again, (sometimes I have to hold it) then the driveby mode turns off.

Putting mine into window mode, with mod or with the mta command, cause horrific lag whatever I'm running or not running in the background.

Possible cause is that you have set up all the keys, but maybe you have set your deafult GTA single player settigns back to Joystick, in which case the mouse will stop working when you play DM unless you put it back to mouse+keys.

MTA Deathmatch is all about Deathmatch, all though the free roam servers are quite popular. The game modes compared to sa-mp are endless (what you can create in LUA!) and most DM servers right now have modes like Battlefield 69, Team DM, Classic Dm, capture the flag, assault the base. As someone that wants more interaction, and online slughtering, I'd check those game mdoes out Advice: I'd be careful about comparing the quality of the mods, the MTA team are not tolerant of whiners about MTA or dissers of Sa-Mp, they have respect for the other mod, as they know how difficult a mod is to create.

Yup, the settigns button in the Dm menu. It;'s the one that pops up when you run it. or when you press 'escape' whilst in a server. Hope this helps. (You need to select the 'controls' tab)

What a useful and not in anyways MASSIVE SPAM comment. I am merely appealing to the server owners, or indeed the official creators of the gamemode, to include my suggestions. Because that's what they are, suggestions. You can take them or leave them, but you can certainly leave immature comments such as the one above. Preferably, leave the forum. Whatever happened to the days when people made sensible comments, and didn't consider being patronising as having 'owned' someone? Did William Shakespeare or Oscar Wilde 'own' other playwrights? Certainly not, because they weren't immature beings, and wouldn't have applied internet slang to language, or even, something as insignificant as a forum post. If you are trying to gain 'MTA cred' by agreeing with someone you probably don't know, then why bother? I have more posts than him, and I'm sure that's how someone like yourself measures someone's 'f0ruM 0wn@g3' levels. May I suggest you sprout a few brain cells before trying to patronise me again. As the saying goes, 'pffffft! Jog on!'

The team plan to add native support for joysticks soon. Until then, I have become accustomed to on foot with a mouse. Racing is still messy with a keyboard tho. But when joypad support is added I'll set my joypad to operate the vehicles!

No one has downloaded my icons yet... Anyways. I think when I run race using truscots excellent switcher, it all works great, but when I run DM, the keys work, but as i set GTA back to controller setting for race (I use a 360 controller) the mouse look does not work! The only way to fix it is by copying the gta folder for dm across! The solutions posted above are either fiddly or long dwonload times involved, and besides, I my desktop already has a DM switch icon on it, so i was wondering if someone could integrate a gta user filers switcher nto the dm race switcher? Thanks. EDIT: I have just thought of a way to do this. It won't work for me as I'm not supposed to be an admin on my family PC (I can run stuff as an admin using similar trickery to the method below) therefore my request for the user files switcher still stands (pretty please ) So this is for people that want an easy way to have different control configs for the different gamemodes (race and mta dm) OK. Make another admin account, with your race / dm user files in the accounts documents fodler for your controls. If it needs to be an admin account, then make it an admin account (duh, why did I even botehr typing that?). Then run the mta exe as that user, therefore their gta user files will be used. The other mta (race or dm) you can run as yourself, with the relevant gta user files in your own documents folder. And to save you the hassle of typing in the username and password to run as every time, use this program RunAsProfessional (http://www.mast-computer.com/c_9-l_en.html) Then you can make a shortcut that opens mta race or Dm as them, so it happens just like opening it normally, except it will be run as someone else, therefore using their (different) GTA controls. Simple eh? Tell me if this works out for you. Also tell me if you don;t understand a word of what I said, because reading it through again it looks like what it was - a rushed explanation. The basic upshot is having 2 users, yours and a new one, with different control schemes for the two differet mta versions in the two users local folders. Then you can run one program as one user and the other as your own user, thereby using different controls for each version. Hopefully that makes more sense If you still don't get it, or want more help using runasprofessional (it's pretty simple, find the program to be run and type in the user name and password to log on as, then choose the option to save a rap file which you can now use as the shortcut to your mta) Lastly, I apologise for my appalling typing but I am all too conscious that it is 9:00 and I need to do my homework, instead of helping the MTA community, though satisfying. -thestrangestick

How are these so popular? there's one ctv server, XIII, where all they play is ctv? Personally, I think its the worst gamemode, as the whole map is open, so you spend 10 years getting to the vehicle, just as it gets destroyed, then oh guess what it's back in another island again, and the game just proceeds like that. I think this gamemode needs to be limited to one map, or the vehicle made indestructable .. it would be much more fun, and add longevity to each round. I hope a server owner takes note of this.

Just a simple idea, where as you hover over a server name or maybe presss an 'info' button then there is a space where the server owner has typed in some info about the server, ie the kind of maps, what's enabled, disabled etc.

I am surprised by how few players I see on Dm mode. Is this just the time I log on (around 6.00 GMT) as I thought there would be hundreds playing the new Dm mode. If you look at all the whiners in the old comments, where are they? If they were there then the place would be full...

When I say 5.3 GHz, I mean 2x 2.66 GHz. And yup the gig of RAM arrived today and now I am playing the game at 30 fps on the highest settings with no lag. Woohoo!

Hey, I just bought another gig of RAM, so I hope this will sort out the problem, and allow me to turn the grpahics settings up for the game.

Hi, I have a PC with 256 mb graphics, which are ATI and not amazing, 1 gig of ram and 5.3 ghz dual core. With DM, my FPS is now at an average of 17 fps - appalling! So I want to ask those techies out there, what sort of graphics card I should get to play the game smoothly, bearing in mind I don;t have PCI-E (sob) just PCi and AGP 8x. I would hope not to spend more than around £65 ($130) If anyone could give advice I'd be thankful.

Lagzilla is trying to make it compatible... why can't it be done? (I don't want him to try if it takes forever) I can't beleive someone on this forum won't make an admins versus player script for me, even if I paid em!

Ok its all good, could you add the money win feature (not admin anymore, I merged with a server so its inappropriate) and would it be difficult to make it for GUS? I'm sorry but the new server guys prefer gus (I have complained about it but no luck) Also, could you please consider making the above admins versus player script (for GUS but it would be simpler because it would just be for dm ( ie last man standing) (Once again, thanks for the enormous help and expertise you give to the add on community)

I thought that a subnet ban (banning their Ip range on their ISp right) works fine. I mean, do these guys change their isp every month?

Don't be so naieve. Dm will come god knows when, you are not on the BetaTeam, so you cannot say. It feels like they will release soon, but god knows. They said in an interview they would release in february 2006! So don't make assumptions.
