    New Mini League

    * walks calmly up to the registration and lies down a Stubby Shotgun and an M60 * The VCA will be there... * nods and wanders off mumbling * Do they MAKE a bulletproof hockey mask?
  2. Female skins often show up when choosing VCC and it's a high Poplation server (In the 20's and up). That's the only real corelation I've found for the stripper skins As for Female cop skins and such, they don't exist in SP, so they won't exist in MP. At least not until the MTA team decides to have some custom skins in there (if they ever do. They ARE trying to keep it as Purely Raw VC Install as posible it looks like)

what r u talking about? I'm talking about an old Activision game called "Interstate 82" It had some online playability, but hackers wound up eventually ruining the whole thing. I saw his graphic for http://www.pigfucker.tk and remembered and old gang from those days who's tag was "PF" for Pigfuckers. They made some very cool arenas and I was wondering if this might be an offshoot or a compilation of those old folks back into another cars with guns game or not.

Did I see a hint of the old PF gang from Interstate 82??!
  5. Oh no you don't.. People already abuse that little problem already. I've seen it and dealt with it on a number of occasions. I think they should make you completely vulnerable at any time, even while AFK or typing. Learn to type faster, you ARE in a digital medium where text is the primary mode of communication. I can convey a complete thought while driving if need be. I just have to regain speed after I finish And as for the infamous "typekilling"... I love hearing people complain about that. How the heck am *I* supposed to know you're typing anything? I can't see over your shoulder.
  6. I'm not saying "This is a team game and there's no shifting it". That seems to be the general opinion of folks I've gotten responses from. I'm not trying to take away the open-endedness of it either. What I'm getting at is that seems to be the chief complaint I hear while playing online. "Same team!!" Or as I've more often seen "DUDE WTF??!!! TEAM! *insert explitives here*" If it's not a "team game" by the terms of the masses who are playing it, why do I ALWAYS see these types of messages? Every server I join, I hear it at least twice in any given time span. I tend to take it as it comes. I generally accept that I'm not going to be shot by that robber over there, so I won't go after him. But the first shot I get fired in my direction that seems intending to do me intentional harm, I retaliate. Never mess with the stubby, you're going to die.
  7. If I can't read the chat, I quickly use my rear-look and read what's there. That usually does the trick
  8. I don't think it would really help anything. The radar shows you what classes are where, F10 shows you who's where. The chat is simply a global communication tool. Adding a chat bubble would only add to the stuff we have onscreen already and could be even more distracting then the chat box would ever be. If you're talking to your team, they should be right nearby anyway, or at the very least, you can still talk with someone at the Airport while you're dallying about Northpoint Mall. Putting in a chat bubble would ruin any communication you could have with distant team members
  9. I'm curious as to people's views on this. Me, personally, I think .2 is VERY team-based. People take it for granted that Robbers should not be shooting Robbers and Cops shouldn't shoot Cops and so on and so forth. What do you, the great unwashed masses, think?
  10. You can connect to a server if you know the address, but you need ASE to find said address. Lovely circular argument, isn't it? =)
  11. * puts on his best formal speech face and grins * Ladies and Gentlemen of the MTA community, Thank you for creating this most awesome of games. You've taken practically nothing and turned it into what can only be called a small empire. You are spoken of constantly at work (Mostly by me) and you have made those other two games I actually pay per month for a slightly backseated affair. I rush home to play this thing after work and I tend to get lost in there from time to time. That's the sign of a good game. I am looking forward to your continuing releases and respect all the work and hard effort (non-PAID effort, I might add) that you've put into this. Keep it up folks, you are doing a grand job. * turns off the formal speech face * MTA ROCKS! GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO!
  12. that feature should stay out:) cant wait for the name tags + health status I KNEW someone would agree with me!!
  13. You've never met my wife, have you? =) She's a gamer
  14. I like the video, glad to see the good work continuing. You flashed through the characters a little fast though, coudn't see what weapons each was allowed. But, aside from that, I like the idea of multiple spawn points. Though I'm confused a little about the selection process. Every time I die, I can come back as another class. Does that put me on another team or am I still considered part of my original team (I guess the question only applies to Team Wars). BUT! Aside from that too! I noticed MORE CARS! YAY! Even the Police Van and the Van for the gang across from the Film Studio. I was wondering if we were going to see more cars in .2! More cars and more TYPES of cars. The ghetto is rather barren (Securicar and Whoopie only). And Downtown is just plain bleak! I think there's only the 2 choppers and a PCJ there. Keep up the good work folks, you have an amazing thing going here!
  15. They intend to synch up Sirens and Horns in an upcoming version if I understand correctly
  16. I am setting up this poll to get an idea of what people think about the topic. Everyone knows that the Hunter is a powerful powerful vehicle. I'm of the opinion that it's TOO Powerful for a Multiplayer setting Firstly, aiming is not required. If you remember in the Single Player mode, you just have to be near a car and the guns train in on them, blowing them to bits in seconds. Secondly, it's powerful enough to destroy a vehicle in a matter of seconds or tear someone to shreds in less time then that. This is not good. For this same reason, the huge gatling gun from over at the Hatian's drug warehouse should also not be brought into the game. Thirdly, rockets doen't even have to HIT the cars, just hit near enough and the car blows. This is also not good. Putting the Hunter's weaponry into the game will only make for a mad dash to the helicopter every single time someone gets killed or whatever. Why bother grabbing the big machine gun when you can go get dual rocket launchers, a training machine gun and the ability to fly over everything?
  17. Ok, but here's another question Firstly, I deleted my post after I noticed someone had already asked the same question =) Secondly, I thought the whole key to making GTA3 MTA was due to some leftover code lingering in the finished product. I have trouble thinking they would leave the same code dangling about the second time around. My paranoia is acting up, but doesn't it seem like they're letting the public sector make their Multiplayer systems? They can then use the ideas / code you wrote to make a retail Multiplayer mode. Yes, I know, silly idea, but just something that popped into my head
  18. Heya folks, I've been waiting for this version of the Mod to come out for a while now, checking more or less daily and when it finally comes out, all seems to be ok with a few problems. In the demo movies I'm seeing for this version, people are showing up as the actual team sides' model. Mafia looks like Mafia and Diablo looks like Diablo. However, when I play, everyone is in the default skin. Although being able to chase each other all over Portland is fun, it seems to be a bit... lacking... I know you guys were rushed to release and there's still bugs (what new software DOESN'T have bugs?) but the basic premise of being able to take out the opposing team just isn't there. The radar seems to work (it's tracking players great!) but they are all green squares as opposed to what I thought were going to be pink if they were on an opposing team. Perhaps that's going to come later. I think out of all the various GTA III MP Mods, this is by far the most supported by staffing. GGM works, but there appears to be one guy only and you never see much about what's on the way or what kind of progress he's making. Lack of animation as you run about and people just sort of "appearing" in cars. While GGM "works" it certainly doesn't have the feel that this one does. I won't go into how it crashes whenever something blows up =) I haven't gotten a chance to try the other Mod (I think there's only GTA3T out there, I'm sure some devotee of that mod will let me know if I'm mistaken) Anyway, I digress.. You guys are doing good work here and I hope things get smoother and more "to the point" in the next version. Just get the basics down first (separating teams, car damage either by physically showing it or a meter of some kind, Player names would be nice, Player health would be even nicer) and build up from there. A few suggestions: Separate the Teams (maybe it's just me, for some reason, but I can't tell who's on what side!) Give us a Damage meter of some flavor Name the players so I can tell who I'm chasing Make travel between the Islands work correctly Lower the current 900 Health to something more feasible, say 200 perhaps Weapon pickups would be nice Don't let yourselves be pressured into early releases. You do that and people will STILL complain (as has been noted extensively on these boards) Automate the "Send game request" somehow or find a way to remove it all together Please note, I am neither a programmer or analyst of any kind. I don't know how hard or how easy any of the above suggestions would be to integrate into the program, but I wanted to toss out some ideas (which I'm sure have already been put forth) and try to encourage you guys a little bit. Keep up the good work --- Loendal
