  1. * whimpers sadly * Note to self... Idle on IRC more often so you can recieve those invites when available I'm impressed that there's that many folks on one screen, all shooting and firing and whatnot.. Noone crashed at all in that little section there? From what I heard in the comments from under the Kent/Trx fight movie, up/down firing issues have been resolved? Now how about my other wishes? =) Moly Glitches and Weapon Swtiches gone? Range still fixed on the thrown weapons? Wish I could have been there for the testing.. I was even lost as to what to do last night too!
  2. Heh, that'd be funny actually... Great! I got money and there's a Pay n' Spray * vroom... clatter clatter clatter... drive in.. clatter clatter clatter... BOOM! * [VCA]Loendal was killed (Vehicle Explosion) And here's a thought about that money... Remember 8-ball's shop? >
  3. Well, I don't remember reading anything official about weather or not there's going to be random spawn points or multiple set spawn points or what in the next revision. Thus, I have to assume there's only 1 spawn point or at least multiple fixed spawn points. Look at the Mexican, Robber and Sailor spawns in VC.. Spawn Wars happen all the time. Now that everyone is trapped in one map (Due to the vote outcome) there's going to be tons of it. If I'm wrong, then please tell me so and I'll look forward that much more to GTA III =) As for the Her comment, I got my nicks confused. I apologize for making a joke and trying to be humorous, I'll go back to being moody and reclusive again. Sheesh
  4. Sure it is! I use it all the time. People dislike Mr. Baseball Bat sometimes and I get to chuckle Also, while I'm in here.. We don't KNOW if aiming is working quite right (At least from an up/down perspective) We saw Trx shooting at Kent, but she never took any damage from those pistol shots till she was on the ground. If you'll remember, in MTA: VC, you look like you're shooting up at that chopper, but everyone else is watching you shoot trees and your teammates who are standing on the road AND... She jumped off the railway and didn't take damage when she fell! HACK!!! BAN HER BAN HER! I mean um... Looks great folks! Very smooth, very fluid. I'm impressed =) Still concerned about the amount of spawn warring that's going to happen with the new GTA III MTA, but I suppose I'll have to deal.
  5. I think you folks might be digging too deep for details. The weather and time changing thing was probably a custom client for the developers, and was used to get a good pic of Bump there in that screenie. That doesn't prove that weather and time are synched, and noone has said they are here in the comments. However, it COULD hint at the fact that rain is included in the upcoming MTA DM's, which could change the way fights are handled. It's hard to run away on a flat or two in the rain, the cars skid all over the place. It would be nice if weather was synched, time I'm not so concerned about. As for the other hints I've picked up on, one of the obvious is the Who killed whom with what code. The baseball bat, or the uzi, or the vehicle. I like things like this, I enjoyed them in TFC. I suppose it could be tweaked to say [VCA]Loendal died [Vehicle Explosion] to differentiate between my car blowing up on me or behind me and me getting cut down by [N00b]ChopperKiller. In screenie number 4, we see Bump tearing apart poor RISO with the MP5, standing between what appears to be two new colors of cars. Though this isn't conclusive, it could hint that they've changed the cars around again (which I would welcome, it's nice to have little changes like that). Something else about this picture is nagging at me too.. RISO's skin is different, I'm having trouble putting my finger on exactly HOW though. It's obviously a new skin, but I can't make out what it is.. Anyone out there got some image enhancing software? Additional Edit: DOH! Missed that! THAT'S what makes the car on the right look different too, I think that's the FBI Washinton (Note the Gold Hubcap). Perhaps that's what RISO's new skin is?Just because there's money in the game now (Obviously in a DM, since we saw Kent killing toraxe with a baseball bat and having some money on hand) doesn't mean there's anything to buy just yet. It's a possibility, but not a sure thing. We have no screenie of someone wandering off and buying an armor vest or the Spaz. It could just be there for looks. It hints at a potential game mode I suppose, but again, we have no proof. The new Vercetti skin is a given, but the question arises.. WHY is there a new skin? Have they added another class to choose from? We don't have any (even remote) hint of a class selection for the GTA III MTA revision yet, and noone has said anything that I've heard about new classes for the VC MTA yet either. Again, it's possible. Possible that there's *2* new classes, judging from RISO's skin in Pic #4. If not new classes then extended skins for the existing classes. Things I'm looking for in the new core: (GTA III AND/OR VC) Extended synch on cars after a player gets out (so when bailing, the cars true position will be reported to everyone else, for example). Grenade and Moltov range no longer being fixed at a set distance. Moly Glitching and Weapon Switching glitches removed (Big one) Better up/down aim capability That's enough from me for now... Buh Bye!
  6. * sobs pitifully * NOOOOoooOOOOooOoOooOoOOoooooOOoOooooooooo......... Stupid Option 1 voters! Die die die!!!
  7. Question.... Where are you guys seeing "Gun blips" on the radar? One of the older set of screenies? I'm not seeing anything like that on these 4 new ones
  8. * slap * Stop that! That's how GTA III MTA got all fubared last time around Patience is a Virtue, and is often well rewarded * grins and runs off again *

    GTA3:MTA Poll

To those who have voted for Option 1... Have you lost your mind!? =) The glory and beauty of GTA is the ability to drive all over the place, see everything and when you throw MTA on top of it, you get to kill folks! Why oh why are you turning GTA 3:MTA into a spawnwar-fest!? I suppose it's possible to make random spawn points, but we haven't seen this yet (with the exception of the VCC). Even WITH random spawn points, you're still all stuck in one little area! I can only imagine how many folks are going to only play the servers that have the Downtown piece of the map. Noone will want to deal with the hills in the third island nor the compact and oddly angled roads of the first island. You're going to see nothing but a tiny little sliver of what GTA III's majesty was! I beg you to reconsider, think about how limiting one island will be. How very UN-GTA-like it will be to never be able to go anyplace different to fight. Have you folks gone bonkers!? Option 2... Option 2... Option 2!! Relive the awesomeness that GTA III was! Open the whole city, drive from St. Marks to the airport and kill anyone on the way! What about the racers, the stunters and such? How are they going to feel being cooped up in a little island with killers roaming everywhere just waiting to blast thier race cars to smithereens as they sit on the line getting ready to roll? The spawnkillers are going to dominate over this single island scenario and you folks just don't see it. I don't care how many cars, weapons and health they can pack into downtown, I want to see people having long car-chases that range from one end of the map to the other. To have to run and do u-turns around the bridge bunkers like the NPC cars do in single player is going to get annoying at least, repetative and boring at the worst. Are you an NPC? No, you're a living breathing person capable of finding someone a distance away. Don't limit yourself to one island! Open all of Liberty City and dominate the world!! * steps down off his soapbox and wanders off muttering "Option 1.. Pfft.. Wake up MTA'rs!" *

    GTA3:MTA Poll

I voted for Option 2... To have only 1/3 of Liberty City to prowl over would sort of put a kink in the overall gaming experience. I enjoy driving around VC hunting for folks. There are hot spots (As there are sure to be in GTA III), but there's always the possibility of driving to some remote location and blasting some fellow on his own. That's what the radar is for, to track down and destroy the opposition. It doesn't matter if I spawn as a Robber and everyone is at the Airport, I'll get there, blast a few folks and then end up dead like usual, but I can still get to them Plus, what Ransom said makes some sense... If you get bored crusing through St. Marks and all your friends are over having a whopping good time over in teh Downtown area, you're sunk. To have to split out of a server just to connect to another part of the map sounds clunky and aggrivating. I think everyone is aware of how fast MTA servers fill up (Look at the 16 official for example). I don't want to get locked out of a server because it's full when I want to cruise the long stretches of highway in the downtown Liberty City after prowling St. Marks a while. Leave all three Islands in and don't separate them
  11. Why does everyone think I'm British? I'm EST, so if you have a more USA kind of time to tell me that'll work =)

  13. Here I am..... This will be a quick and brutal fight, you've kicked my ass many a time =) Thursday? What time?
  14. Actually, you're forgetting the two VCC spawn points over there also.. That makes a total of 4 So you have the exact same "problem" now. Folks are staying on the second island now. So you've still go the same situation as before. The thing about MTA is the fact that it's basically a plug-in to Vice City that allows for Multiplayer. They've not changed the terrain of the map at all, they've just added spawn points for cars, players and weapons. Admitedly, there's alot of fighting that goes on over on the second island. The area around the Ice Cream Factory is a huge battleground. As is the grass outside of the Mexican Spawn (the grass only grows there because it's watered by all the blood). Over by the Sailor spawn I've seen big fights, as well as at the Robber Spawn. People will clump wherever they wish to or whereever they find other players to shoot at. It's a natural thing. People used to clump around the Washington Beach PD and the Malibu and have huge wars in that area all the time. The mansion has always been a hot spot as well. The only problem I have with the second island is that there's such open straight roads that folks will just keep right on driving (more on that in another post). I think Vice City is just fine as it is. To cut off sections of the map would lead to chaos in a closed perimeter. I don't know about you, but I can't stand it when I spend the time getting in game only to be killed in 2 seconds right outside by spawn point. This is what would happen if you chopped up the map into it's designated areas like Little Haiti, Downtown and so on. I don't want to see 24 folks all piled up in Little Haiti spawning on top of one another, getting killed the moment you take 2 steps.
  15. Do you have any mods? If so, uninstall them.. Reinstall VC to a brand new clean copy
  16. What? Just go to mtavc.com and to the downloads directory, you'll find the file there.

    radar colors

Dark Purple (Brown?) = Robber Green = Sailor Pink (Bright Purple?) = Mexican Blue (Cyan?) = Cop Light Blue (Bright Blue?) = Racer Yellow = VCC Yes, sometimes all the blips are yellow. This doesn't mean they are all VCC. I see this happen usually after a crash. It normally will fix itself after someone dies and respawns. Skins still seem to be a problem, so if you're looking for teammates, go by names not by skins.
  18. I think there's more honest players then cheaters, but the cheaters tend to stand out. MTA does a decent job of stopping cheaters, there seems to be less of them this time around. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before it becomes as bad as .2.2 was at the end there. One thing I do notice, however, is that just when things seem to get to the point where they just can't get any worse, the MTA teams gets a new version out there which kind of puts a whole "do over" glaze on the cheaters. There will always be cheaters, regardless of how much protection any given game has. The only way to stop them completely would be to have the client running as a program from a remote server. Basically you have to log into said server to get to the client to get to the game to enjoy MTA. This puts complete control over the client and everything involved with it in the hands of the owners of the server. This is a wee bit unrealitic, isn't it? I'm still trying to figure out why folks have to cheat. It's not THAT hard of a game afterall.
  19. High Ping is not cheating, it's just frustrating. If it's too high, do like whoever that was that said it does... Just move on, let another lagger beat up that lagger and you go kill someone who's not so slow.
  20. There were several replys to this post, they all vanished? I asked a Mod to lock it out to keep it from going into a deeper flame war then it already was
  21. Round 1, VCA were on the attack, assulting where R had hunkered themselves down at the Washington Mall. We came in from the Mansion, I wound up skidding into a wall, but I'm SURE nobody saw that.. Archer Lemure, one of our newest members, timed out and disconnected just before the match was to start. It's assumed he lost power, because he didn't make it back and that is unusual for him. We also had to borrow Gamefreek of SM fame to round out our roster. R was clustered up together on the rooftop, near the garage ramp that leads up there. Bump hit them with a few grenades from below, softening them up a bit. I wound up sucking up a bit of shrapnel in that exchange myself, but thanks to the new Miracle fiber "Everplast" that they made my Hockey mask out of, I survived the encounter with mean ole Mr. grenade. It was a mess on the rooftop, shotgun blasts fireing every which way. They had some on the walls, they had some on the ground so on and so forth. I think one of the R boys blasted one of their own someplace in that firestorm. I wound up getting killed by one of our guys, but * shrug * it happens. Round 1, VCA... Round 2, VCA on the Defense, R on the attack.. We decided to try something new and hold down the boat docks over near the Sailor Spawn. I'm not sure how well it was liked, however. I think it may have some issues with cramped up space. They were able to drive a car right into the garage there and cause all manner of trouble. The car was a good idea, a sort of rolling bomb in the middle of our troops. Anyway, there was some problems at the start, we were ready, said we were ready, but they weren't coming after us yet. Took a few shouts of "Ready!" to get the ball rolling. We wound up blowing our roadblock a little early, so that was fairly useless. As normal, I wasn't watching where I was going and I ran into the path of fire from a VCA'r and Dusty got me. My bad.. But I think 2 or 3 of the R fellows were down before I dropped. This is a good thing. We had one time out on our side, Dusty. As per the rules, Dusty was allowed to come back and procede immidiately to the fight zone. R stated some concern that this was against policy, vocally. In the end, only Sess was left. A couple of R players came back to the fight area after they had been killed, although they were not actually ATTACKING, ammo was wasted by shooting at them in confusion. This begs the question as to weather or not "spectating" should be allowed after someone gets killed. Things could go smoother if the fallen would use /quit and sit out in the chat box.... After repeated Inquiries.. Sess, Lead of R, never responded about a 3rd round. Although it was more of a "going through the motions" round, it was never played. Final tally: Vice City Army 2 Rogue 0

    New Mini League

Any progress on this or any input needed? November 8th is closing in fast
  23. I think I would enjoy GTA III as a multiplayer once they clean it up a bit. Last I saw of GTA III Multiplayer from the MTA team it was very limited. Couldn't really shoot other players in cars, things just seemed... Well... bad. If they can get GTA III running as nicely as GTA VC is currently, I'd play it from time to time. I like the cop cars better in GTA III
