  1. How would they find out if someone added like 20 ms to the previous record just to be on the 1st place?
  2. Someone could open his 1 person server and use a cheat to get the best time. He wouldn't even need to play it, just modify the data that's sent to the master server.
  3. Maybe because it has been asked too many times
  4. Unless... unless it's just his mental age.

    Streaming Radio

It's easier for us and the developers to just use winamp's own radio. You can use shortcuts to change the channel anyway.
  6. It does not matter WHEN will it be done, what matters is that it IS being done. Now, imagine world without MTA:DM, and don't stop imagining it until it's out, that'll help you wait.
  7. Did you just pwn yourself? PS. But i do agree that products can't be compared when one of them hasn't been released yet and the other one is in beta stage.
  8. I think it should depend on the size of the map, just like BF2, if it's a tiny map, 16 players will do finely, but the whole state of san andreas could easily have 200 players without any crowding, if everyone had cars of course.
  9. I wonder if they'll add the former WTC place there.
  10. Clock bomb is actually a pretty good idea!
  11. Vans do have back doors and people can sit in the back. Only 2 people though, and they can't shoot Try it with gang-members.
  12. Dudes, so what if GTA 4 is coming, that does not mean that everyone will suddenly stop playing MTA:DM. What if it's not as good? This is just like Counter-Strike. There are still more players in 1.6 than in Source (it can change now though, after valve shitheads added advertisements in 1.6). But still not all people like changes.
  13. Maybe he ment that when the DM is released, there would be servers with DM mod with races only, but you would be able to get out of the car and do stuff. Or something. Which is possible, i think.
  14. A simple way to explain it is to say that with current technology, software, computer power and bandwidth, it's next to impossible.
  15. I'll wait till it comes out for PC, then read some reviews and base my choice on them. And maybe play it at friend's place.
  16. There are hundreds of thousands maps for CS and i believe they all combined together won't make a normal sized town. And yet they must take more than a few terabytes of space combined. I don't think MTA servers can provide that kind of bandwidth. And i also don't think there will be an easy fast way to create those maps too.
  17. It sure won't! Especially when he gets that "2D-map to 3D-objects with height and details"- converter program from you. I presumed that you have that because you think it's a quick thing to do.
  18. It's really not that easy. It's possible but every building would have to be modeled and it would require an ENERMOUS amount of time! I'm talking about months of non-stop working for a middle sized town. If you want to make it look as good as SA of course.
  19. I understand your fustrations, but ads arent something that will happen immediately. Obviously CS is the only game curently with Ads in it, and the switchover process will be slow and very smooth for you guys. We have discussed this a lot and really feel the advantages outweigh the disadvantages - im sure you will agree when you will see what's to come. CS is not the only game with ads, Sierra has introduced ads in SWAT4's new patch. SWAT4 is literally SWARMING with advertisements, they're all over the place, and player count has been steadily going down. Now, EA has also introduced ads in C&C3, but they're optional (you can turn them off in options), so people are ok with those. But what Valve did is really a betrayal of it's customers and players. There should be laws against that, just like against piracy. Customers need protection too!
  20. Are ads necessarilly a bad thing? They make users aware of latest products, and generate revenue for both MTA and the company themselves. It means MTA can afford to sustain development and has a much higher incentive - this incentive is brought to its playerbase - allowing a much greater experience. Why do you think mod support was added very recently? Besides the advantages of carmods etc, it gives a very easy engine to externally replace GTASA's billboard textures with those of real ads on the fly, for example. It means dynamic ads can be placed anywhere in san andreas, subtly. (i can give you a screenshot if you like). They are a bad thing if you look at CS. Valve has pretty much stopped the development of Counter-Strike 1.6 since the Source came out, if you don't count a few bugfixes. But there are still bugs of which they are aware of, and what do they do, fix them? Nope, they just slap a bunch of ugly pictures on walls and in scoreboard and in menu's and stuff, and claim that they're fun and improve gaming experience. They give us no option to opt out of the ads, and make the "update" essential. Plus, when someone found a way to circumvent ads, they released a "bugfix" for that the NEXT day. I've never seen such a quick update from them, but this time they were driven by greed for money. Of course, their EULA allows them to do whatever they want without any warning or consequences. Don't buy valve products, they are evil!
  21. If this would be true, valve would quickly replace all the ads and brands in GTA for real ads and brands to make money off us. But luckily it isn't.
  22. I wonder how long it will take for them to port it on PC.
  23. I liked it! It was short, but it showed a nice engine, hope they'll release it for the PC!
