  1. What are you talking about? The water looks fine. The graphics look amazing. edit: the thing you highlighted is a metal plate, not water. ok that should explain it... although it looks a bit weird to me... but that might be because i never saw a metal plate laying on the road like that (and i think they should make it look more like metal... but like i care ). And indeed the graphics are awesome. If that cablecar works, i'm going to use it 24 real-time hours straight after eachother (well im not going to, but they just look cool). That's kinda what I meant.
  2. clearly not everything is finished (the above picture... i guess that's supposed to be water), and the city is going to be named Liberty City again (like 9999 of 10000 already knew).
  3. the server would send 256mb though that's what i meant, and sending that takes at least 34 minutes if i host a server at home (my upload is around 128kbyte/sec). I'd just keep it to some texture replacements, as you could load these while playing already.
  4. yes but lets say you have just 2 vehicle mods of 4 mb each, and 32 players, the amount of data you have to send is 2x4x32=256 MB, assuming all players have a good connection with the server, and the server is an actual server (not like me hosting it), i don't know how long that takes . but if I host it myself... my max. upload = about 128 kb/s 256mb*1024kb/mb=262144kb 262144kb/128kb/s=2048s= more then half an hour (so im NOT going to do that)
  5. personaly i'd say, don't do this until the first release is released, it's not really needed, and you can make a script that returns the player id when you search for a part of a name, avoiding the alt+0131 (ƒ) or whatever codes, and make another script that can kick a player by his/her id. but it'll make kicking/banning cheaters a lot easier.

    Teaser

i'd like to see it too, but i'm not such an idiot that revives a 2,5 years old topic for it. (i am not, cause the last post is only a few hours old )
  7. maybe if you place a few of them right next to eachother, it could work, just try out how good it works i guess.
  8. you have windows XP (or at least NOT Vista) right?
  9. lol shouldnt the title be: Official GTA IV Trailer Thread instead of Official GTA VI Trailer Thread anyway... i wanna c the trailer
  10. Yeah, that was what i meant to I'm with .:SDK:. and BrophY, you might be able to do something with the songs in the existing radio stations (so you don't have to stream), but probably not.
  11. I've had that same problem, did your screen just black for nothing? I had this (the explosion effect, as you call it), got worse and worse, then my screen went black. Problem (screen going black) didnt occur for 3 months, then it happened again, then just 1 month for the next "black-out", one week, a few days, ending with just 10 minutes... Turned out to be a broken graphics card (btw. my graphics card is an ATI/MEDION RADEON 9800XL, the fan was broken or something)
  12. ID's : 16376, 11540, last = actual dam
  13. i hope so The development team is "finishing the release itself". But still the QA team will present us some videos during the next few weeks(??). First thing tells me they are almost done... second thing tells me they are not and trying to keep us here
  14. lol can't wat for MTA:Myriad Island. although I'd suggest making a script to see weither the mod has been installed, and let users download it by hand (giving 173 MB+ to 20 people on a server... I'd like to see that happen (you need to upload 3,38 GB without players getting impatient))
  15. lol i don't mind doing a 500~1000 (depending on how extended the test has to be*). i can make a little app that make maps with all objects (in rows) if the all.models file (it's in one of the ipl/map converters) really contains all objects (day/night... etc). also... there are solid objects that cannot be selected ("fenceshit") (dunno weither it is fence-shit or fences-hit, i guess the first one) *: 1. Just checking weither selectable or not. 2. Checking weither they are solid (with bike) and weither you can select them or not.
  16. it's on top anyway... but it was a quite useless post (like this)
  17. omg... quadriple posting... the reason google sees the difference between the 2 adfsdfassdf things, is because one gives 489 results, and one 114.000 also the edit button is gone because my horizontal scroll bar is gone (FF)
  18. srry for the triple post... but my edit button is gone... and since they are 2 minutes after eachother... i don't really care
  19. btw... you can do things like this very easily with paint (all you need is the original image, and the one with "Did you mean: freaks")
  20. that one is good... (since its actually real)
  21. That's true... you were downloading movies of girls eating pies ... no way someone like you downloads porn. edit: or were those girls nude?
  22. nice... http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t= ... &&start=15 see the first 2 posts
  23. That will reque some file changing, which violates the EULA, easier to add a Single Player button to mta, but that doesn't make sense well it is useless... but it would make sense (you could start mta, then choose weither to play single player or multi player, and switch on later (if you choose single player, you already had MTA started, so a code to change back to multiplayer can be injected into the memory))
  24. about the scripting part, woudn't it be possible to include all objects into a list, or even maybe move all objects (except for players). an example of moving everything down in GML (Game Maker Language) [syntax=GML]c="if (not kind='player') { z-=1 }" with all execute_string©"[/lua] that would execute the string c with ALL objects. the c string, checks weither the you are a player, and if not, it sets the z-value (since in GM its not an actual position) retalivly to -1. the variable kind would have to be set in all objects though. I think MTA might have some function to check the kind of an object an object is (actual object, pickup, player, spawnpoint, car-spawn, ???) so if you convert that into MTA-compactable LUA (as in LUA using MTA functions), you might be able to do everything with an relativly short code. You could check the Hay tutorial to do something to a lot of objects. You do certainly require this : moveObject ( object, s, x2, y2, z2 + 3, 0, 0, 0 ) i think the arguments are: object, speed, new x, new y, new z, something, something, something
