  1. shop keeper in SA? man, you gotta be absolutly lifeless and on prozac to wish to be a damn shop keeper in GTA. You couldn't even stand more than 20 seconds in your shop without running outside and beating the shit out of the first person you'd see.
  2. I do not think it should be considered as a bad idea, at all. For your information, this technique is known as Pixelart. I suggest you resize your video window to 135x64 if it really disturbs you. One thing that disturbed me in the video is the black parts. At first I thought that my player had to be lackin the codec because it was all black, so I tried with different players before realizing that I just had to wait further in the video to see image appearing lol i act so dumb sometimes
  3. An MMO GTA surely would be awesome, but, what about the servers? As all the other high-tech MMO's (as opposed to for example BBMMORPG's) you need alot of bandwidth, so much that they mostly all have fees. How are you gonna deal with the bandwidth problem?
  4. Well I'm not sure it's that much of a suggestion, but anyways, a few days ago I saw a screenshot of a player standing on top of a flying Hydra. I don't know if it would work good enough for my idea to work, but doesn't it mean that you could basically have teams of two (or more after all, there's one room on a plane for more), one flying a plane (or some other type of vehicle after all) and another standing on top of it shooting at the other planes? If it could be possible imagine how freaking amazing it would be, standing on top of an Hydra going at full speed and throwing rockets or just shooting with a big gun at other planes to bring them down before they bring you down, I can see it from here. Like I said I don't know how well it would work the way the things are/the way the things are planned to be, but that would be cool if it was planned to be so such an idea would work well. Now imagine players using a snake skin and standing on a plane... it'd be like, snakes on a plane!!!

Sorry for asking the annoying question, I know this is alpha stage, but come on, it seems to be already good enough so you guys can have some fun with it, I for one would appreciate to be able to mess around with the alpha, even if it's only an alpha with everything it means. won't you guys release the alpha? I know this ain't exactly OSS, but you should follow the motto tho "release early release often" Don't hurt me please.. PS : I think the video lacked something like a player standing on a plane while another player's flying it. I saw that as a POTD or whatever u wanna call it and that was quite impressive, I wanted to see that in action to see how well it's done
  6. alright, I forgot what I have done to my installation of GTA, but just in case I'll uninstall and reinstall the whole thing so I make sure its clean this time.
  7. Same happened to me, once I registered for an account and all that, then click the Connect button just wouldn't do anything. but eventually I got out of this thing and the installation resumed, however once in MTA i can't connect to any server

MTA SA 1.1 just won't connect to a server. it will be able to retrive the list of servers, but when you double click a server, or click connect, nothing happens, you can do it as many times as you wish with as many servers as you wish, not connecting, and apparently not even trying. Up to the quick connect thing, I copied some server address, typed it in, and when i clicked connect the kinda dialog just went away and it just stayed there on the main menu as if nothing had happened.

  10. Oh, ok, yeah but you have to already be in the process tab and have a bar selected in the process list.
  11. hit G and press del then enter and it will end the process?? wtf, i never heard about that, can you explain it please?
  12. In the Task Manager. Menu Options>Always On Top. Get in a race, Alt+Tab till u get to the taskmgr...

    hehe thanks. you know it's not so hard commin up with a good idea for MTA. Just take the concept of your favorite multiplayer game, it might make something interesting on GTA.

    If it's always the same player getting the HM then it's worrying. Mostly if that player becomes the HM, unless he finds a way to kill himself.I think so far we only can try to have an idea on how the HM should be chosen, but I guess we could tell better once it gets implemented
  15. No. Task Manager on top. You still see the game running in the background, it's just that the task manager is on top.

See in GTA I like stunting and recording with Fraps, so i put all settings down to make it as fast as possible on my config, and yet sometimes it's not that fast.Here the problem is that MTA doesn't use all the CPU, but more like 1%. Which of course won't do it good, unless I make my CPU run somewhere near 200 Ghz
  17. Ummm... problem is, besides checkpoints, I don't have alot of objects. Like, at most a half dozen of ramps, that's it. My checkpoints often perform a change of vehicle tho, can it have anything to do with it?Btw, did you know how much objects it took for you to observe this behavior?

    I don't think it's a necessarly good idea to have everybody being the HM once. Personally, I wouldn't wanna be the HM until I personally killed a HM. The HM needs to be skilled, otherwise he has the responsibility for spoiling the game by being to easy.Btw, how are we gonna deal with for example an HM that would hide where nobody can find him (a camper)?

    I think it would suck major balls if the HM was chosen at random. Imagine, you're a n00b to this game mode, you don't really know what it's all about and basically it's just gonna be easy to hunt you down. A easy HM is to absolutly avoid. Why not just make the HM the last guy who killed the last HM? This way it would ensure having a skilled HM, and it's a fair and simple rule.

    Yup. The main thing about this idea is that in GTA we have anything we need. The vehicles, the weapons, the map. I think that unexpectedly enough this type of game could fit very well GTA, also it's not even a FPS (which makes it somewhat interesting to test a FPS idea with a third-person shooter)
  22. No hard drive activity, otherwise I would have attributed it to it. I use a no-cd crack and have everything installed on disk. I'm afraid that there's a bug, that for some reason something that prevents MTA from using the full CPU starts when entering some online game and that stays even after the online game is exited (I would check the call of some waiting-pausing function if there is any in MTA). The really weird thing is that I apparently am the only one to report it.
  23. If you are running it on high priority, that could be your problem. Sometimes when you do that, the game will respond before your drivers do, so it will lag. The likelihood of this happening increases if the game takes up a lot of resources (which it does when MTA is injected into it). Nope. I *tried* high priority *because* of this problem. And anyways, it may consider the input from the controllers with a delay, but it won't only use 1% of the CPU.Don't forget, it's only taking like one percent of the CPU while in a race and while displaying it (with taskmgr on top). This is just not taking up any ressources. It's not bringing the computer to its knees, it's just using 1% of the damn CPU, nothing else is using the rest of it!!. In case it matters I have an Athlon Sempron 2400+ @ 2.0 Ghz.
  24. Yup, in single player, and in MTA while testing a map as well. I join empty server, but it has nothing to do with that, since when I go back to the editor after I tried joining a game it's as slow. what kinda details do you want???

    As for the radar problem, well, why not be given a clue on the area where the HM is, and then, radio messages between hunters indicating the position of the HM in case they spot him. Why not even some people in Mavericks who could try to spot him. Would there be any vehicles? How would the HM be chosen? I thought that maybe the one who just killed him could become the HM. I never played Manhunt, so tell me, is there anyway the HM can win?
