  1. I tried both of those links and they gave me the same EU v1.00 exe I already had, ergo, no change. Just to check, my exe is 14,405,632 bytes. Is this the same for those that are working OK?
  2. Starting a new thread doesn't help that. Just makes it harder for people to find the solutions when they do come
  3. Try searching before you post http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=14891
  4. You'll need to allow MTA to access the net, you should get a pop-up question for that
  5. Do you have a firewall/Zone Alarm blocking it? Sounds like it's trying to download the server list and not being able to get to it
  6. I've also tried updating my graphics card, and uninstalling and reinstalling MTA, both with and without the server extension, and on both my D:\ and in the default location.
  7. UK Red

    MSVCR71.dll

Just tried that and no ball. Seems that putting it in the MTA folder is the best it can get. BTW, the install is 1.01, but the exe is 1.00. Changing the exe has worked for all other memory conflict issues such as trainers. Would MTA need any other files swapped? GTA Single Player still works OK
  8. I'm getting this too on a 1.00 UK version. Tried holding Ctrl, got the dialog and selected the folder, but nothing changed. It also happens when selecting Map Editor. I get the GTA image and music, and just as the music ends it clips the music and crashes to desktop with the error reporter
  9. UK Red

    MSVCR71.dll

I'm having this too. I had a copy from installing Rawshooter though. Copying it to D:\GTA\GTA San Andreas\MTA enabled me to get the game running, however, if I try to connect to a server, or start the map editor it will play the music and show the GTA graphic, then crashes to desktop, and I get the Error Reporting Tool which says: Connecting... Error sending report! (parsing response failed) Pasting the dll into the MTA San Andreas and GTA San Andreas folders didn't change anything. This is a UK version 1.00.
  10. Another baby? Is this the Daycare thread? Put down "The Cat In The Hat" and start reading the blog! So what about re-spawn. Yes. It will suck. But wouldn't you rather be able to compete in races while they're fixing that?
  11. Yessir, yessir, right away sir. We have nothing to do but to pander to the tantrums of a stranger What?! You're kidding. Please say it isn't so. The game won't be the same without arrogant, selfish, impatient people like you there. Have some gratefullness and understanding. I know the MTA team have to be a bit PC and can't always say what they want, so please see the above as what I'm guessing they'd want to say.
  12. Well, I have found the answer, so I'll post it up for others who have been watching or searching. The GTA:SA Control Center allows you to spawn cars, and much, much more. The problem is it's not obvious how you get it to work for v1.01. On the last page in the bottom right hand corner is a drop-down list for the version. Help file for GTA:SA CC
  13. Now that sounds like a fine idea. Have to put up with the rain and other glitches though. Thanks for your help.
  14. Yup. I have 1.01. Should have mentioned that earlier. I also have GTA installed on my D drive. Why do you think it's not possible to find one for 1.1? Just tried it now, and it crashes when I go back to the game
  15. D'Oh. Didn't realise it was an ActiveX file. With the similarity in the name I assumed it was one of yours! Got the file now annnnnnd...still no ball I don't get the crash or messages now, but no spawns either. I've tried registering both dlls and restarting to no avail. Does it work for others? You're showing how young you are acting like this. Stop trying to make us think you are clever. You have said nothing other than it's easy, but then failled to show how easy it is or be helpful. If you had read my post properly you'd have seen that I've tried lots and none work. So if you can't provide a link to one that works, that I haven't tried, don't bother polluting this thread anymore
  16. It's amazing how many people will say it's easy, but not so easy that any of these people can provide a link or even name one Thanks, that sounds perfect. I think there's a second dll needed for it though. When I start SA I get: "This application has failled to start because d3dx9_27.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem" Rather oddly though, after that I get "Grand Theft Auto SA requires at least DirectX version 9.0"
  17. What would you suggest oh wise one? 95% of the car spawners out there only make it easier to spawn cheat key cars, none of which are Turismos or Packers. The one I have found that allows you to spawn anything....doesn't work. As I said before
  18. Has anyone got any advise on a trainer that will allow me to spawn Turismos, and preferably Packers too? I'm trying to do a SA car stunt vid, and this would make it so much easier. I've tried the +113 one, but all the custom ones only even spawn bulldozers
  19. GRAMMEDIC! We need some punctuation, stat! Couldn't actually understand the advise in all that. I have Norton, and that's the whole problem. I'm not too keen on using MS Anti-Spyware because it's from Microsoft, and my copy of Office may or may not be legal. I have turned off Auto-Protect on Norton. Not too happy with doing that, but I'll see how it goes.
  20. You can't partition without wiping the drive though, so unless you already have one, you need to back everything up to CD/DVD first, or add a second physical drive
  21. Right, we'll step outside for that comment! Looks like I might manage without Norton then. The thing that puzzles me is that when my computer was running badly (pre-zap) GTA still ran fine
  22. This arguement of "they did this before they did that" is so tired, old and full of holes. I bet they all drove before they killed someone, so maybe it was driving that "drove" them to kill. They all drank something too, maybe that "whet" their appetite for murder. See, you can some up with just as stupid an argument with a catchy word link very quickly. I did it, and I'm an idiot.
  23. That's what I'm doing for off-line, but I can't play any MTA like that. Don't trust ZoneAlarm to stop everything.
  24. Now that law would have merit and my support!
  25. I don't think there's anything wrong with the game, it's that Norton is eating up so much CPU time. It's possible that a new virus definition is causing it, but I'd have thought others would have experienced it if that was the case.
