  3. Wow, 5 months from now I may "hack" the game and bring something up to the media if it will get them to release a patch... I mean, its not like thet could get hit w/ an M rating twice. heh.
  4. If your playing a PC game, you really have to learn how to use wasd+mouse controls. Theres no way around it. I for one, like using my mouse and think of it as freedom to aim unlike the slugish PS2 controls. If you tried to use a gamepad for any big shooter game like CoD or CS, do you think you would last long against another player w/ smoother aiming control? So just be glad the AI is dumb and this single player is so easy.

  6. well yeah, that would be a must, the AI from the game is kinda dumb, It would get old fast w/o a human player on the other end.
  7. First comes first, before ideas can be tossed around, a grp of people need to be together willing to make it. So organize a grp of modders that are willing to spend their time to produce a mod using blue. Then think about how it will be done. But one thing is for sure. There are plenty of people wanting an RPG mod. So its up to someone to give it to em. I can offer my services some how... but yeah.

Wait tell mta team comes out w/ their final mod using the blue core, THEN compare & compete. (but then again I dont no sh!t about modding...
  9. So what you are talking about is, not a game w/ rounds and matches but an on going world. Anyhow, I can see it happening if there was only like 1 or 2 servers so the amount of people at any given moment would be larg, but your right about us needing alot of people wanting this to happen. But the truth is, alot of people do want this to happen. All this talk about an RPG mod from alot of players. When blue is released, every player/ modder that wants this to happen need to put heads together. Im no modder, so what Im saying is, someone needs to step forward and start a grp devoted to an RPG mod being released using the blue core. I really would like to see this happen myself. Edit: what if like planetshift (or what ever that game was called) you had to earn licenses to drive/fly different vehicles would be neat. Anyway..
  10. god that seems so cool. Writing something yourself and then watching it come to life, bugs or not. I wanna learn how to mod and then write something, even if its sloppy I'd love it like a mother loves her ugly ass child. Could yall link a few sites that will teach me basic C++ from scratch?
  11. I like this idea, but think it is to passive for PvP combat. Now see, if you had it where the main over all "objective" is world... er map domination I think this mod would have a chance of being big. Hear me out: The three gangs are in each city like you said. (Great idea btw) Somewhere in each city is the main home base for each gang. Those little side quest you were talking about, like robbing banks and stuff would be done to improve your gang. Like robbing the bank would increase the cash spawn that your gang leader (picked at start of game) can spend to upgrade the home base defenses and buy weapons/cars that the gang can use for more missions and to further themself in the over all goal of assulting the other gangs base and taking their city. Other side missions you and your gang members complete like raiding a weapons storage could spawn a certain weapon at your base...etc. So its almost like a FP RTS RPG ghetto game of risk. So the team that is better organized and works together better has a greater shot at wining the whole game. This way its not as mindless as the comon DM games that just sticks two teams together that kill each other. But its not as stand offish as playing poker (no offense) but a great idea man none the less. I agree w/ Selzi, im a big WoW player and there is really no way you can make this game full out RPG. But I offer this idea as a medium so you player have something more than just mindless killing or just the same old DM type game. EDIT: I think this can only be done w/ NPCs. No NPC's, no dice.

    You would think that wouldn't you, but when you play battlefiled 2 and your trying to avoid the jet on your 6, whitch goes smoothly at first, untill you begin to hear that constant humming, you just know some slappy below has jumped on a sam site and locked you. Then you pray your flares can trick both the jet and the sam's missles... but yeah... "cool".
  14. How beginner friendly will it be? I have the best idea for a great mod but I don't know anything about modding. My chances of finding a grp to convert my thoughts into code are slim to none. Im sure when blue comes out, everyone will be doing their own "thing". *sigh* It seems I will never play my dream mod.
  15. then why are some people bumbed out because "its just a driving mod"? Do they not get the picture of what blue is and what it will bring to the modding community of GTA? a driving mod now, a whole new game later.
  16. wow, its all clear now. So the first couple of MTA mods were just downloadable games, but this Blue is speacial in that, it is a tool that opens the door for all moders to create there own mods. What about this race mod, is that gonna be the first mod created by the MTA team using the blue core? kinda like a glimps at things to come?

    After reading all of this I went and played w/ the "jumpjet" a while and got the hang of it. I now fly vary well and even went over and shot down a bunch of army jets. Then I hoped in the heli and improved my skill in that. I think the mini gun disposes of people very effectivly and the rockets can really clear an intersection. So for Air to ground combat, the heli is your best bet. The jet is just fun when fighting other jets, as far as shooting ground targets goes, you have to be huvering. Although i managed to do strafing run on the highways w/ missles. Right now, I think im ready for some PvP air combat.

    so comparing MTA 0.5 to MTA:SA is like comparing Half life 1 to half life 2. a HUGE difference in experience/gameplay but takes a long time to be developed. Well if its anything as great as what its said to be, I think its worth the wait. I dont know where all the bi7ch!n is coming from I read in the general forums, I figure yall are doing us a favor so at the least all we can do to show support and be patient. Cant wait to play it! /salute
  21. Im new to the whole MTA scene, but when my friend told me the ideal behind all of this, I came running. Im not sure how the game will be but I kinda pictured gameplay where you can select a role you want to play and live out. By playing an officer and driving around in a squad car searching for crime or rolling w/ one of the gangs you play with in-game would bring the city to life for you yourself. I used to play this text-based GTA game (I know im a nerd) where people were a member of a gang or even paramedics/FBI agents. It may have had no visual aspects to it, but it was a fun experience none the less. But like I said, I dont even know what the MTA looks like, Im just dreaming here. So would that even be possible or am i just dumb for thinking it?
  22. In some Call of Duty servers where FF hurts you, they have these clans made up of buttheads who block door ways. You cant kill them because it would kill you. Grrr, that made me so mad. If you have any tk punishment at all, I enjoy battlefield 2's where if you kill a team member they have a chance to forgive you or not. If you get more than 4-5 "non-forgives" then your kicked from the server w/ a timed ban.
