The graphics look brilliant and the engine system looks much better than what we had previously. When I saw the first clip with the couple on the beach with the dog I immediately thought it was the return to VC; though I think the huge vinewood sign gave it away that we are returning to SA. However, it seems to be a touch of both VC and SA. I think the palm trees and skyline resemble VC more than they do with SA.

When I first saw the graphics for the Nintendo 64 I was like - wow. It was an awesome console though the controller wasn’t the best as I found it really hard to be accurate with anything. The Playstation will always stick out more to me than anything. The games in that generation were unbeatable and were a lot better than much of the crap developed today. The games that stuck out the most were Croc, WWF Attitude, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Die Hard, Felony 11-79 (look up this game) and so many more. The SEGA - in my experience - had its moments but I didn’t get hooked on it as much as the two above.

Who knows with R* - but if they want to bump up the sales then I think they should have listened to the amount of complaints received when IV couldn’t run on the average system. I can imagine the disk space is going to be massive. I don’t believe even 1GB will be enough for basics, whilst there isn’t a huge difference between DDR2 and 3, 1.5GB-2GB should cope fine. I shouldn’t worry as I’ve got a monster 12GB living in my machine. I hope that V is a huge step from IV though.

I love it when a release is waiting to happen because all these rumours begin to fly because some genius in Photoshop can recreate a forum page making a statement upon their secret known sources or some crap. I don’t care to be honest because it’s always worth a read - makes the wait a little bit more exciting. I do hope they don’t go back to San Andreas though!

I have been around this community for years and not once have I contributed a post to the scripting section because I don’t know how too. It’s rare now that you ever come across a big debate in the general or discussion sections anymore. It’s impossible to encourage people just to sign up and post something other than in the scripting section because it’s a freedom of choice. It would be nice to see the old torch get lit again in the Gangs/Tournaments section for example but people prefer not too nowadays.

mIRC is pretty much a dead in MTA - it use to once be the pinnacle of scripting back in the day. I would advise you to check the archive section of the forum and search for anything located with “mIRC” in the search options. There use to be an “add-ons” section in this forum a few years ago where you could find all the tutorials you would have wanted and might still be hidden under the dust somewhere.

What suggestions do you guys have to improve the forum? I can pass these on if any meaningful ideas come up. As an active member of the community these forums are a part of my daily schedule and by all means it would be ideal to see more people contribute to useful posts other than the BLAST section - though at the end of the day BLAST has became a symbol to the MTA community in that respect. Past and present continue to keep the torch burning. The forum does get its recognition. We have thousands upon thousands of posts and this doesn’t include all the archive posts from 2003-2005 roughly that have been stored elsewhere. The numbers use to rocket sky high when the old EUNA, European and individual tournaments use to be published. Generally, the forum is at its peak once a release has gone public and many users visit the forums though they don’t necessarily register or post.

Whilst I will always say Vice City was my favourite, GTA3’s storyline was very intense compared to any of the others in comparison. Vice City was too cartoony, SA was more a comedy sketch and IV went on for too long. GTA was always about the triads, mafia and Colombians - not all these pathetic Vietnamese and corrupted police officers the latest series gave to offer.

Is this the same team that done the one for Vice City? Credit given - must take some hell of a time to complete.

Good thing you mentioned it otherwise I wouldn't have known. IV was badly over-hyped. it didn't have a special touch like the previous generations of GTA.

I thought you could do this anyway if you knew the tag marks when creating a post - I guess its a separate feature.

Do you have a specific firewall, maybe an anti-virus one, preventing you? Try downloading the latest nightly version and see if it solves anything. However it is more than likely to be something to do with your network instead of MTA. I could be wrong.. https://nightly.multitheftauto.com/

Still to this day I can’t compare MTA to anything else I've played. I remember playing GTA2 with a friend back in 1999/2000 time and thought nothing could beat this as a multiplayer experience in the GTA world - then look what evolved. It was a privilege to have been around to enjoy those times especially in VC. Time to close the curtains forever it seems.
