  1. You need to add metadata to the map. Open it in the map editor, and go to Meta Data.

  3. Nobody is playing MTA:DM because it's not out yet...
  4. ROFL. Made my day Thanks everyone
  5. There's always the killer question though - which will come out first?
  6. That's classed as cheating, you should expect to be banned.
  7. Make sure you've changed the remote admin password from the default value in the config file. If you have left it as the default then somebody may have just been going through random servers on the list and trying the default admin port + password. To unban everone, open up the ban list (should be a file called bans.list or something) and just select all and delete. Save it and then restart your server.
  8. 1) Judging by that error about the anti cheat file, it looks as though it could not find the definition update on the web which would most likely be a problem with the master server rather than your computer. I don't believe there have ever been any updates to it anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. 2) If the server is on the computer that you are connecting to with remote admin, use localhost or 127.0.0.1 as the hostname. If it's on another computer on your LAN, use the LAN IP (usually begins with 192.168 or 10.0).
  9. You don't even need GTASA installed for the server to work.
  10. Some (most) routers won't allow you to connect to local services using your external IP address, therefore you either need to use your local (LAN) IP address (normally starts with 192.168. or 10.0.) or the loopback address (127.0.0.1). The loopback address is basically an IP address which is assigned to the local machine and will ONLY work on the local machine. For example, 172.0.0.1 is my computer but ONLY to me, 127.0.0.1 to you is your own machine. The local or internal IP will only work for computers on the same local network (if they are plugged in to your router). In order for people on the internet to play on your server, you need to open the correct ports on your router. Check the link in my sig and have a look at the bottom of the page for a guide on how to do this. You can connect to your own server with either your loopback or local IP, other people must connect to it with your internet IP.
  11. You can enable it in the server config file.
  12. So far, attempts to get MTA:SA working under Wine have failed. Not sure about Cedega but I expect it will be the same.

    --> Help plz

    No it is not possible.
  14. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_Screen
  15. Use screen to run the server in the background.
  16. Yes if it is possible to have the server reinstalled, I'd definitely go for Debian.
  17. Can you run the ls -l command in the directory where you have put the files, and tell me the output?
  18. That's a client problem not a server problem, and it looks to me like an MTA 0.5 problem rather than an MTASA one. I believe all that error means is that the rich MOTD could not be found, this should not stop you from playing the game. Try connecting to another server.

    Connection timed out?

    Try another server.
  20. Do you mean hard drive space? I believe it uses around 4GB.
  21. The patch will work and yes your saves will become corrupt.
  22. Yes, but you'll not be able to use such mods in MTA.
  23. Is MTA supported on Tablet edition? I'm not sure how different it is to XP Home/Pro, since I've never used it.
