  1. Beta RC1 RELEASED NOW Finally a new update, and I can say this is the first updatr you all waited for. Now fast, see the full changelog and download it! New in this version are the ability to import a handling without errors, and export a handling! Also, you can reset your vehicle handling to default of any vehicle. Removed are the full handling log, cfg exporter and deletion of handlings. They're to be done for RC2 or later, they have a low priority in my mind.

    Help with setmax

You cant set more players with this than defined in mtaserver.conf. Was that hard to understand? If mtaserver.conf allows to have 500 players, and you set it to 400 using setMaxPlayers, it will be 400. Then you can set it back to 500, but not any higher.
  3. You're probably looking wrong then. Are you sure you're in the client's "mods" folder, not the server? It should be really there..
  4. Go to your MTA installation folder > mods > deathmatch > resources > hedit > saves. All saved files are located there currently. I'll do a quick peekup too then: I've finished save/load again, and they seem to work a lot more stable than the ones of alpha. I'll do a few tweaks to some things now, and add the full log again. Then I will launch pre-beta

    skin mods?

Well, if you simply want some skin mods, I'd reccomand ModLoader. Download any skin you want, place it in a folder, and there you go. It will work. Download it here, installation manual is included. Good luck
  6. Strange, maybe the handling is just incorrect. Have you tried another value? Or is the lower limit equal to the upper limit? These two may not be equal so that might cause problems too.
  7. That will be possible in the next version. I've quite some things which are bottlenecking the development, so the releasesate of this is later than expected. Sorry for that, I'll try my best though.
  8. Good grief, do you never learn to indent scripts properly Solidsnake14?
  9. https://wiki.multitheftauto.com Thats race coding, depreciated for already a big bunch of years. MTA uses Lua for quite a long time already.

  11. I'm currently redoing the handling.cfg importer as the previoud one didnt load handlings correctly and was very CPU intensive. I'm going to fix these two flaws ofcourse, but I'm also considering to make players (maybe ranked players or something) to let them import complete handling.cfg lines, save them at their PC and let them be able to load individual lines later. And, allow admins to import a handling.cfg when ingame - which get saved just like the converter of thr console does. What do you think about this? Do it, or not worth the effort?
  12. Haven't read the whole topic, but personally I fully support this idea. Benxamix2: Why wouldn't people learn from such tutorials? tutorials are MEANT to learn people do stuff. Tutorials are basics, this means a tutorial is a explanation of something in its simplest form. Users have to expand this theirself. Tutorials where people won't learn from, aren't tutorials. These are ready-to-use codes with a description. Besides, I can myself create a whole tutorial without any copy-paste code to use. And tutorials seem to be highly needed as many people ask the same thing over and over again. We can even create a tutorial about "How do i convert milliseconds to seconds for a timer", it doesn't matter: the point is, people will have references where they can learn from without having to ask. Ofcourse you keep the people who are simply shit and don't want to, or don't seem to learn from anything including tutorials. But you can't avoid these; helping them in a topic of 20+ pages seems to be normal for those people. Also people don't use the wiki for tutorials. One thing is that the wiki hardly has any tutorials, probably because the forums are much more preferred to ask or search than use the wiki. I've found just 6 tutorials on the wiki, all about scripting a GUI. Second thing is, people don't look at the wiki for tutorials. It took even me quite a time before I found out there are tutorials on the wiki. And still, when I look at the main page, I see links where I've never, ever clicked on but can be useful. Third thing, forums are WAY easier to use than the wiki. Wiki might have HTML support, but do you really need a super-fancy looking tutorial where you get distracted by everything on the page? Well, I don't, so the forums should give enough styling options. Forums are easier to use too imo. Buttons are all there, and it all works pretty clear. Wiki syntax looks rubbish when you ask me. And, people can post reactions on tutorials: questions about unclear things, suggestions to improve the tutorial. Or just thank the creator for his help. With that said, I vote yes to a "Tutorials" or "Scripting tutorials" subforum.
  13. HeHu, get your facts right. Kye is an ex-developer or MTA. And yes, he seems to be the only developer. How much does he develop? A very little amount of fixes and new features. In 6 months. MTA can develop more in one single month, with currently ccw and Cazomino05 as leading coders. And if SA:MP has that policy, why do they included those custom objects then? Also, help from Rockstar? False. I know more than you do, and I can say they did NOT get any help from Rockstar. They did get a official message from them, but that was back in 2003.
  14. No u, MTA:Race was first, then when DM came out there were already a diversity of gamemodes. Still, you're right theres no reason to hate SA:MP nor MTA. You can hate the creator of SA:MP with his dicatorshit, and the players who argue about MTA without giving ANY reason why they know it's true that MTA is better when it comes to.. everything.
  15. How could I know that are your specs? Besides, I said 1.2 will get way more FPS so dont get mad.
  16. You don't really need to use shaders. Shaders are a feature of MTA, not what SA standard comes with. Not every server uses shaders and a good informative picture can only get better when you play it
  17. Well, to be honest, I personally don't like it too. I don't recognize any MTA thingy. Yes, Tommy is there, but that doesn't directly points to MTA. Besides, why did you cut his eye out? I'd reccomand to make a wallpaper with ingame actions, and a whole other font. A wallpaper needs to show what the product really is, and give you the correct impressions. When I look at this, I think of outer space I don't want to be rude ofcourse, I can see you put your effort into your images. And I'm only giving my point of view, so you know the different opinions Oh and get rid of imageshack
  18. Yes, MTA 1. also had handling functions and custom fonts and voicechat and... Nop, the answer is: get a better PC. If you lagg already in MTA, how does your PC handle all other modern applications? You can't stay forever on a slow PC. Oh and to make you a little happy: 1.2 (so not 1.1.2) will get a extreme FPS overhaul, so expect more from that.
  19. Yep, that is the known issue and going to be fixed very soon
  20. Qais, please do a bit more research. About MTA is correct, but it can be caused by hedit too. Minwar, do you get improper handling in every server, or have you imported a handlin.cfg using the exporter? If every server: This is due MTA resetting all handlings to default when starting your game. If imported handling: As stated in the roadmap, the loader of this exporter doesn't completely work. This will be fixed next version
  21. Exactly, everything has to work before I commit the new version. Besides, the only way to change the handling at the moment, is by importing a handling. Regular configbuttons are disabled to keep myself motivated in all the other stuff
